Cleveland is host to SPIDER-MAN 3 and we got some pics!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. For those Spidey fans paying close attention you'll have heard about SPIDER-MAN 3 having a second unit in Cleveland these last few days doing a big action sequence. Raimi had people in Chicago filming background plates for the big El Train fight with Doc Ock in SPIDER-MAN 2 and I thought he was probably doing something similar here, but from the pics we're getting it looks like it's a bit more involved than that.

Right now we don't have too much exciting, but we do have a few mucked up vehicles, though the second mucked up vehicle is hiding behind a tree, but you can still see enough to show ya' it ain't happy. I'm told by one of our spies in the area that this whole sequence is the result of Sandman throwing a fit, with him supposedly in that armored truck. Hopefully we'll get more snuck shots from the street shooting! But we have a little taste of the mayhem below thanks to "GrumpySkates." (Pssst... notice the gaping hole in the top of the armored truck!)

And the sarcasm about it was overdone back when Spidey 1 came out when they posted shots of the Bugle and what not. Everyone started making semi-retarded sarcastic posts about how cool it was to see a newspaper or a corner of a building. Be grateful we're getting something, shit.

I can understand that people on this site are so hyped-up for this movie that a couple of (lets be fair) pretty boring pictures (no stars/explosions etc) just won't make the nut. I can look outside my window and see a street, doesn't mean I have to like it though. Peace.

That Looks Nothing Like New York

    by CaptDanielRoe

There aren't two awnings that clean and tidy in a row anywhere in New York. The architecture is all wrong too. As is the flat road: New York streets have lots of different shades and grades of asphalt and tire rubber on them with sludge and smoke and so on. The trees are a tad too healthy too. You can tell a lot by just a street and what this tells me is: Not New York. ....................... . . . . Just pay the fees to film here, tightwads, you can afford it.

    by BannedOnTheRun

This shoot is going on right outside my office window, and though I was tempted to send in some pics myself, I knew I'd get beat up just like this poor guy. Sorry, there's nothing too flashy going on, just second unit shots of the "Manhattan Safe" armored car zipping down the street. They did have a beat-up old station wagon rigged as a rollover ramp, but they hadn't gotten to that yet when I got bored and left. Nothing to see here.

I was there for the Saturday shoot....

    by Monkey_King

GrumpySkates might've recognized old Monkey by his Spidey suit under his trademark black zippered hoody and jeans(I got many looks), but that's neither here nor there. The Raimi crew had a 'car-styled version' of the Sam-O-Cam on a whelded-together black car that had 'Zulus' spraypainted on the side. They shot mutiple angles of the armored Police car racing down Euclid Ave(standing in for a NY street) around NY taxis and past a parked ambulance. Neither Toby, Kirsten, Topher or Tom were in attendance(or will be), but rest assured there's NO VENOM in this picture. NO VENOM!!!!(thankfully) This week is the crews last in C-Town and it's back to NY and the West Coast for the Raimi crew. A colleague of mine reminded me his GF is in a scene walking a dog(not sure if its name is Bendis or not).

Okaaayyyy... I've been asking this for awhile now...

    by samsquanch

But where THE FUCK is some X3 news/coverage? And don't give me any crap about there not being any. This site has been intentionally avoiding any X3 coverage at all, for weeks and weeks. I know that Harry was spewing bile for awhile there, and he got heavily criticized by talkbackers shaking their collective heads and backing away from his tantrums, does it have anything to do with that? I'm honestly curious. Does anyone know? Should I start yelling CONSPIRACY!? I know some of you spend quite a bit of time here and know how this site works, why is this happening? We get photos of a goddamn truck for a movie that's coming out in a year, meanwhile there's been lots of X3 stuff (new site with tons of info, photos, etc, lesser sites like AICN with interesting photos, news, etc.) but not here. Help.

This is not a scoop, ok? This is a picture of some streets. There aren't even any actors there. And no, I am not a hater, I am a person who doesn't want bullshit pictures of streets passed off as actual news. I think back to the shit this site used to break, and then look at it now, and I just sigh. This is right up there with that epic picture of a piece of paper taped to a door that proves Cameron was working on "Avatar".

I Suppose I Could Go 'Up the Street' For This...

    by jollydwarf

...but I'm assuming that none of the prominent actors will be present? Hey, cut Northeast Ohio some slack for submitting this (but not AICN for running it). I don't think we've had this big a movie moment since we ALMOST got the "Matrix: Reloaded" highway chase sequence, and if not that, then DEFINITELY "Light of Day". What's scary about the suggested LeBron cameo is that if you filmed him NOW in a Knicks uniform, by the time the film's released, that might be entirely accurate, knowing Darth Sternious. Manipulative bastard.

    by Evil Sean

According to the Cleveland papers, it's Euclid Avenue. I've lived in Manhattan for 4 years and spent 24 before that in Cleveland. I assure you all that any tight shot of Euclid Avenue near downtown (i.e. one that does not reveal a lack of skyscrapers above) looks just like any street in Manhattan north of 57th, south of 92nd and not on the Park. That's why they picked it, b/c the architecture can pass for certain neighnorhoods in NYC.

I can't believe what I just saw, the image of that street is burned on my retinas now, when I actually see the movie and they cut to the scene featuring this street I might lose it...I am having a happy accident in my pants just thinking about it!

Convincing argument that SUPERMAN IS BORING!

    by KAWS

Let's see, what are we getting that's new in his new movie, that hasn't been already done in Donner's film or other Superman films. We have Lex Luthor as the main villain, AGAIN. We have no super-villain to do battle with Supes (Brainiac, Darkseid, Doomsday, etc.) AGAIN. We have another 'CAN YOU READ MY MIND' scene (check the collectables based on movie scenes). Donner's shitty Christmas orniment looking spaceship flying through space. Lex Luthor has a Miss Taskmacher, this time she comes with a poodle. Superman saving a plane, saving Lois Lane's troublesome ass, Superman battling Earthquakes, Superman losing his powers (in a mocked up Fortress Of Solitute no doubt), young Clark growing up on the Kent Farm and discovering his powers motif, AGAIN. A Clark Kent who looks like an undead Christopher Reeve, nerdy looking to boot. Now, we're getting a rehashed JOHN WILLIAMS' score crammed into an already unoriginal Superman movie. Riddle me this, why make a movie of a third sequel that has already made, ANSWER: so they won't have to come up with anything new. I hope Singer gives a lot credit to Donner, he's basically remaking his film. *****Now, let's get into Superman's character motifs: Look at me, I'm too powerful to be beat, nothing can challenge me but a green rock. I'm over 70 years old and I have about 3 to 4 worthy super-villains (looks at X-Men, Batman and Spider-Man's villains and laughs at Superman's). My secret identity is a joke, Lois Lane and everyone at the Daily Planet can't tell I'm Superman, because I'm wearing classes, talk about stupid journalists. Although I'm made of steel on the outside, I'm hollow inside. I'm an alien from another planet that doesn't exist, but I look just like a blue-eyed white man from Earth (as if they didn't have enough power), what are the odds? Writers find it hard to write about me, because the stories will all end up the same, all consisting of Kryptonite, Lex and saving Lois all in a days work. You know, just like Superman Returns.

I would send to AICN but they'd rather post fucking pics of street lamps and cars than actual important pics.

You mean the concept of a BORING FUCKING COMIC BOOK CHARACTER, right? Yeah, I'm familiar with it, and it is called Superman. :)
