Oh, sweet merciful God. UNDERDOG matching wits with... The Dink?

Published at:  Mar 31, 2006 7:55:37 AM CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with what could be the most amazing movie ever made by God or man. On the surface a live-action UNDERDOG movie sounds lame, especially since we've seen what they did to ROCKY & BULLWINKLE. But he's going to be facing off against an evil scientist played by... Peter Motherfuckin' Dinklage of STATION AGENT, ELF and FIND ME GUILTY fame. Never fear! Underdog is here! And he's fighting The Dink. How sweet this could be...

    How sweet could this be?

    by kdoc13

Not very. Underdog was lame when it came out as a cartoon, live action isn't going to help. It screams "Garfield" or "Cats & Dogs".

the odds of this being "sweet"

    by inwosuxred

are considerably lower than the odds that this turns out to be the worst film ever made. I feel sorry that Dinklage will probably only have one really good part in his entire lifetime because he was really good in the station agent.

Underdog movie? That lady on howard stern

    by orionsangels

Remember, who was obsessed with underdog. she said she should do the movie because she knows the most about underdog. I thought they were joking about an underdog movie. she said they would ruin underdog. she was also a big fat loser, but that's besides the point, haha. underdog sounds like the name of a snoop doggy dog porn video.

    History Repeats Itself?

    by shadowmancer

This reminds me of a little over twenty years ago when Walt Disney Pictures produced another live action adaptation of another well-known cartoon character, starring an up-and-coming actor by the name of Robin Williams in the title role, directed by Robert Altman. The film became the WORST film EVER. Maybe you remember it? "POPEYE." I sense history repeating itself. *shivers*

so, how about a live action of

....of course Aku is ALWAYS THERE.
Trilogy! and let Genndy DIRECT EM'

    Which Villain?

    by philcomix

Is he playing Simon Bar Sinister, or Riff Raff? Simon was best, he sounded like Lionel Barrymore as Mr. Potter in 'It's A Wonderful Life'. I can't imagine how they plan to do this live action. Animals & people mixed socially on Underdog. This will probably be a disaster, & I agree that Popeye is one of the worst movies ever made, EVEN THOUGH Robert Altman has made 2 of my favorite movies: 'Brewster McCloud', & "O.C. & Stiggs" The cartoon had a great theme song, & the movie should feature live action 'Tennessee Tuxedo' shorts intercut into it. I'm serious. It should be the most bizarre thing you've ever seen in your life. That will be the only way to make this work.

Don't let the morons get to you. You say that they rape the icons of your childhood. I say, icons can't be raped. They belong to us, not 'them'. I agree with you on one thing. I doubt that they will ever do justice to the spirit of the original material. Again, so what? It doesn't belong to them. It never will. It belongs to us. They'll never take it away. They don't have near that kind of power.

    by drunken rage

I always thought it rather funny that to get his superpowers Underdog had to take a pill. "I grow weaker and weaker and weaker still without my super secret Underdog pill." Oh, and the Riff Raff episode where he has the pygmy witch doctor "Just in case" was a pretty good one. But how about interspersing it with live action Mr. Peabody and Sherman and maybe some Go-Go Gofers?
