Ahoy, squirts! Quint here! Double down! Split them Aces!!! I used to really dig on blackjack, but I haven't come away up from the blackjack tables for years, so I've started only playing Hold 'Em when I hit Vegas. It's working out pretty well so far...

I remember hearing about these M.I.T. kids who pulled one over on Vegas a while back. They perfected card counting and used team-work to fool the card-counter spotters at the casinos. They'd go down to Vegas every weekend and come back with hundreds of thousands of dollars. There's a book called BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE: THE INSIDE STORY OF SIX M.I.T. STUDENTS WHO TOOK VEGAS FOR MILLIONS, a non-fiction account of their adventures written by Ben Mezrich.

Apparently Robert Luketic finds this story as interesting as I do. Luketic is a studio director with big success under his belt with LEGALLY BLONDE, WIN A DATE WITH TAD HAMILTON and the recent MONSTER-IN-LAW. He's also attached to the film version of DALLAS. With DALLAS still spinning, the news hit of him making this movie, 21, based on the book BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE.
