Report on OSMOSIS JONES

Published at:  Oct 09, 1998 2:59:28 AM CDT

Harry here. Some of you may remember a note about this project quite a while back. Almost a year ago... I Think, but this is the first I've heard about it in a while. Sir MagnaDoodle told me that while there are projects floating around, everything is kinda hinging on how IRON GIANT does. So just hang loose and keep your fingers crossed. There seems to be some cool stuff afoot in Warners Animation... if they are given the go ahead...

It's Agent Droops from Animation Blast - http://www.awn.com/blast - with a
scoop that might interest you.

OSMOSIS JONES - AN ANIMATION BLAST EXCLUSIVE!!!

You heard it hear first folks - "Osmosis Jones" is the title of an animated
film currently in development at Warner Bros.Feature Animation and it's a
prime candidate to be their next film after "Iron Giant". Next to nothing
is known about this film except that it's a comedy-adventure involving
cells (yes, those microscopic things that all humans and living things are
composed of). I can just imagine all those geeks (excuse me, scientists)
drooling over this concept but there has still been no official
announcement regarding this film. However, for the people that like
official news, it's been announced that Tom
Sito (head of story on Dreamwork's upcoming "Shrek" and "Spirit" and
Disney's "Pocahontas") has signed a one-year development deal with Warner
Bros. Feature Animation and if "Osmosis Jones" is greenlit, he will most
likely be the
director. And as for the much talked about future of Warners Feature
Animation, Sito says, " Everyone thought they were down and out after
'Quest,' but I think Warner Bros. is a company that's going to surprise a
lot of people." Sito says that Warners is headed in a more "urban, hip,
cool and action-oriented" direction with their animated features but let's
just hope that all those buzzwords translate into something better than
"Quest for Camelot".

If Osmosis Jones is greenlit, Tom Sito will CO-DIRECT with Piet Kroon, who's been shepherding the project through development for the last year.
