Quick CRUSADE update (follow-up to previous related post)
|
Glen here…
Just a quick message.
We just got this site back on-line after it was down for a few days. I posted much of this information to various newsgroups in an effort to keep information flowing while the site was kaput. There are more details in those current newsgroup posts, and I will flesh out this report when I am not so tired. This is just a quick catcher-upper for those who haven’t seen the newsgroup posts.
Last week, Coaxial reported *rumors* (I did say they were reports unconfirmed by Coaxial, by the way) that the already-filmed first five episodes of CRUSADE would be scrapped, and the series would be starting from scratch.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The first five episodes will indeed be aired.
While the first five episodes will indeed be aired, there are numerous indications that some "re-sequencing" will be done in the first eight or ten episodes of the series. Think: the addition of material introducing the crew of the spaceship, maybe a few swap-outs in the sequencing of episodes, etc. More pointed details about this should follow in the next few days.
Is the debut date of CRUSADE in jeopardy, as reported today by other publications?
Would make sense if the premier date got pushed back, would be logical and expected.
HOWEVER- the last reliable indication Coaxial has received implies that the series’ original early January start date is still being targeted. Until I hear otherwise, I’m guessing it’s still on track for January. Although, for my money, this would make for a tough schedule at best.
As for the rumors of JMS leaving the show?
JMS is still with the show.
Could JMS have *really* left the show?
The following response is based on numerous reports sent in by numerous sources: any person could leave ANY show if they felt their presence was not being fully appreciated by The Powers That Be. This isn’t a reflection on the quality of the individual, or the legitimacy of a series. It’s just the way of things in a difficult business and a political environment.
Am I saying more than I am apparently saying?
You be the judge. I’m going to bed.
