??? *** The FRANKENSTEIN news has been around before but now it seems
to be taking form. *** Ving Rhames is pulling out of the Oliver Stone
flick after Puff Daddy did last week. I hope all will soon be fixed. I
emphasize "soon." *** Dennis Hopper, Martin Sheen and Robert Altman
are in three separate indie projects that look cool. *** I hope the
Jan DeBont news pleases his fans. The man's plate is overflowingly
full. *** I'll let the rest speak for itself. Happy October. Until
next week.
Rest in peace, Gene Autry

He's got another film in development? This one should be good.

Diane-
Raimi and Costner? FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME???? WHAT????!!!! Holy smoke, it might just work. It's as scary as it is intriguing. If it is a sports film, as the title suggests, this could be as interesting a venture for Raimi as it could be for Costner working wih Raimi. Call me a sell out, but dang it all, it sounds cool! And as for Ving Rhames taking a walk on O. Stone for MI:2, hey it's a chance to work with John Woo. Who wouldn't? -
Mere days after the passing of Gene Autry, we've lost yet another screen veteran. Although he will probably be remembered best for the roles of Cornelius and Caesar in the "Apes" films, I will always think of Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent, the TV-Horror-Host-Turned-Reluctant-Vampire-Slayer in "Fright Night." Rest in Peace, Roddy.
-
Jan deBont's movies suck. Look at them in a row: Speed, Twister, Speed 2... oh hell, ain't it obvious? Everybody is into the new CGI Frankenstein? There are great artists and animators preceding CGI, a great movie could be made without CGI. If Rocky and Bullwinkle is shot live-action, they could at least use Henson creature-shop puppets for moose and squirrel. Roger Rabbit is good, but compare it to the Muppet Movie. I'd rather make a Rainbow Connection. Hey, Rainbow Connection would be a good gay pride song. Send your hate mail to me, David Geffen, via my offices at Dreamworks.
-
Indeed, the passing of Roddy McDowell is such sweet sorrow. Morgus is quite right--although I will remember McDowell in the PLANET OF THE APES films, I will always remember him as Peter Vincent in the classic FRIGHT NIGHT. As for Ving Rhames leaving Stone for Woo, for continuity sake, it is a good move. But John Woo is SUCH an overrated director it is sick. All of his American movies have been super-dull. Are Tom Cruise and Rhames gonna run around shooting at the enemy through walls with 2 guns in each hand throughout the whole movie?? Does this classify as "exciting"?? Give it up. Woo is boring. Stone is a proven master of the arts, even though some of his films aren't the greatest, like NATURAL BORN KILLERS, it is, without a doubt, one of the best directed films I have seen.

Check it out! What's up, Ronnyron? Where you at?

When will this end?
Now Dan Gilroy has gone and
done a re-wtite for The Superman
Movie. Am I the only one who's getting tired of this?
I shouldn't jump down Dan's throught without knowledge of what he's written, but at times I wish the whole thing would go away and I could go back to just reading Superman comics. I think we've all
now expressed our LOVE/HATE
towards Nic Cage, Tim Burton, Kevin Smith and everyone else who should and shouldn't be involved with a new Superman franchise.
Thank God that STARWARS Episode 1 is right around the corner.
Now who out there thinks George Lucas is an overrated director?
RonnyRon.
shout-out to SLAVE.
R.I.P. Gene and Roddy.
-
Kristy Swanson WAS the original Buffy, but nowhere in that citation was Hillary Swank listed in that role. It only said she was in the film Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which she was.
-
Woo is a great director and most certainly better than Stone. Stone has been crap ever since Born on the Fourth of July, his last good movie. JFK was his turn as a hack conspiracist. Natural Born Killers, upon seeing it the screen writer, Tartan Quentarino, said "Oliver Stone has no sense of humor". U-Turn was Breakdown without pacing, plot, or cogence.
-
Dang. Roddy gone. Fright Night might not have been his most noticed role, but it was my favorite. When he shakily holds the crucifix up and gets told "you've got to BELIEVE" by the vampire and he just glances up and grins, man, that's what movies ARE, baby.
-
McDowall was fantastic in Fright Night, but he also deserves recognition for his underrated performances in the Planet of the Apes films. It's amazing to see how much feeling he is able to convey through all that makeup.

i want more news on BR I am so excited about that project that my underpants are all in a bunch
please some find out some info -
I've heard that Bwillis, that's Bruce to those of you who don't know that he is referred to as Bwillis by his nearest and dearest, which doesen't include Demi anymore, that old hag, though I love her for her glorious work in striptease, she is a weasel for breaking the Big B-willis's heart.
But I digress. My friends over at warner bros. say they have purchased the rights to the buck rogers franchise from fox, who purchased it from disney, who traded the rugrats franchise for it.
Enough blather Gil Gerard, may he rest in peace, has decreed in his will that no one but B-willis is suitable to reprise his epic role as Buck Rogers space wanderer and and cosmic casanova.
If any of you geeks hear anything about this let me know.

Yes, you are all correct. Kristy Swanson played Buffy the Vampire in the movie with Luke Perry. Hillary Swank was the female Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid IV ( which I have not seen...cause I kinda refused to...after part 2..it no longer worked for me...). The new information is that Hillary Swank is also in Buffy the Vampire Slayer with Kristy Swanson. She plays one of her "friends". So the information posted is accurate...now I must go...someone pulled the fire alarm in my dorm..I hate that!!!!

notice the lack of new ideas. so many of these people who have done cool projects long ago are so tiring now. do people really want nick cage to be superman? is the nick cage from raising arizona the nick cage we know now? rocky and bullwinkle? deniro's ronin? harrison ford's air force one & six days...? another batman by schunmacher...again!? hasn't he destoyed it enough. blah. i don't mean any harm. i'm just hungry for some real surprises. looks like star wars 1 is the only one.
-
Dr. Stephen Beavis, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Did you even see U-Turn - it had nothing to do with Breakdown, at all. If anything, it was a rip-off of Red Rock West or Blood Simple or Duel in the Sun! While Breakdown was a rip-off of that extremely creepy Kiefer Sutherland/Jeff Bridges pic from a few years back. Anybody remember what the fuck that was called?
Did you even see U-Turn, buddy? It had plot, it had excellent direction, and it was funny as hell - particularly the performances of Billy Bong, Claire Danes, Joaquin Phoenix, and Sean Penn. Not to mention, Jennifer Lopez's hot ass!
I'll bet you just found the symbolism a little too hard to follow, and you call yourself a doctor. -
AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
ENOUGH WITH THE STAR WARS EPISODE 1 ALREADY!!! IT'S NOT ''THE ONLY GOOD THING''!! LETS REVEIW, SHALL WE? THERES STAR TREK INSURECTION (YES, I REALIZE THAT 99% OF THE PEOPLE READING THIS ARE WARSIES, AND ABOUT 50% OF THEM HATE STAR TREK WITH A PASSION, BUT I'M STILL GONNA SAY IT), RESIDENT EVIL,X-MEN, TOMB RAIDER,THE SOYLENT GREEN REMAKE,THE PSYCHO ''REMAKE'' (IF YOU READ MORIARTYS POST ON PSYCHO ,THEN YOU'LL KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT), GREEN LANTERN THE MOVIE, AND, OF CORSE, GHOSTBUSTERS 3. GRANTED, SW:PHANTOM MENECE IS GONNA BE COOL, BUT IT IS NOT THE ONLY THING. PS-TREK IS COOL.
PPS-I WOULD LIKE FEEDBACK, EVEN IF IT IS JUST SOME STUPID WARSIE DISAGREING WITH ME.
