Jet Li and Ronny Yu are FEARLESS! Poster and trailer online!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a look at Ronny (BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR and FREDDY VS. JASON) Yu's newest flick from the homeland, FEARLESS starring Jet Li. We got a heads up about the one-sheet over at a site called g-film and after a little digging I also found the official site that has the teaser trailer. The flick is about the founder of the Jin Wu Sports Federation and apparently has a lot of tournament fighting action, as you can see in the trailer.
Jet Li is saying this is his last Martial Arts flick. I hope he changes his mind as he's still one of the most dynamic and impressive Martial Arts superstars in the business today. The lovely Michelle Yoeh seems to also have a part in the film... Also, notice on the poster that Master Yuen Woo Ping is doing the choreography. This could be damn awesome.

OK, this trailer has got me really excited. Fuck Kong, fuck war of the worlds or whatever big budget "extravaganza" of the past year, this is jet doing what he does best and I am pumped for this! Hurrah!

if you want to do some philosophical shit, i can always write you a script for that but it would have to include kickass martial arts as well because nobody wants to see you in a movie with no fights at all. i know... i'm still shuddering from Cradle 2 the Grave too... but that doesn't mean you stop doing martial arts movies altogether. why not do more intelligent/philosophical martial arts on the level of Hero?

just apparentely retiring from action/martial arts films - from what i heard he wants to still make movies - like family movies and crap like that - who knows - maybe they can sign him on for the Pacifier 2: Once Upon a Time in a dirty Diaper...

And I'm glad I didn't. This looks like a serious movie. I've become pretty jaded by the typical sneerworthy asian flying people shitstain movies that make it here to the states(*cough* Hero *cough* Crouching Tiger *cough* House of Flying Daggers). This looks like hardcore serious martial arts - I dare day, almost like a Chinese Cinderella Man. Can't wait to see it.

It is classic, and probably in my top 5 for Asian Swordplay movies. Although the sequil is a steaming pile.

Him and Jackie Chan have had one thing major in common lately... to do serious drama roles with no martial arts in them. Period! It's not that Jet dosen't like doing martial arts it's just that he's been making martial art movies since he was just under 11yo. He's what now? 42yo? Means he's been in the martial art film business for 31 years of his life. Thats a lot!! You'd want to retire or move onto something else also. I own ever single one of his original imported films, not the hacked up us releases... so I too don't want him to stop making great action films. Have to respect not wanting typecasted as an actor tho... look at Carrie Fisher.

This movie is actually a prequel to Fist Of Legend. About the man, Master Huo, who eventually became Chen Zhen's (Jet Li) master in Fist Of Legend. Later on to be poisoned and killed through a conspiracy to war the Chinese against the Japanese. He's basicly another Chinese folk hero like Wong Fei Hung.

I've always enjoyed the solace of a good Jet Li film. Here's to hoping he made his last one of his best. Though Fist of Legend is still my favorite.

That looked kinda cheesy. Hopefully they'll get to make a full length trailer that cost more than a stick of bubblemint. I can't tell from the teaser just how well Yu is at directing action or making it compelling, But Li and Ping, how could you go wrong?

Fuck Hollywood, reason number 23: Everything Jet Li did there. Hollywood can fuck up anything, even a man as inhumanly gifted as Li. Only if Li had killed Riggs and Murtaugh would his time in Hollywood have been worthwhile. Hero rocked ass, and I have every expectation this will too. And Hollywood, I want back the years you took out of Jet Li's career.

Breaking News: During an interview with Chinese newspaper Nanfang Daily, Jet Li said he would no longer making any more wushu movie because, what he wanted to say about wushu through movies had all been said. There was nothing more to say about wushu, in another word, he could no longer show wushu on a higher level. But, he would continue doing action movies and kung fu movies. So this is his last Wushu film not his last martial arts or action flm he is just not shaving his head nad doing the whole hack philosphy crap anymore.
