The First New SCRUBS Since May 10, 2005!!

Published at:  Jan 03, 2006 1:08:43 AM CST

I am – Hercules!!

The declining drawing-power of “The Apprentice” turns out to be good news for “Scrubs” fans.

Beginning this week, NBC is moving “The Office” and “My Name Is Earl” in an effort to shore up the Thursday-night primetime block CBS now dominates.

This leaves a 9 p.m. hole on Tuesday nights, and NBC is plugging that hour with two brand spanking new episodes, at least for most of January.

NBC sent along a couple of new episodes - which demonstrate that the series has not in any way declined in terms of wackiness - but they’re actually the two episodes that air next week. So I can’t vouch for tonight’s. It may not be nearly as madcap, or it may be even more so.

Bandwidth. Predictions. Reactions.

TV series for less than $21 per season!!

Don't want to see it go, but if it does...

Assuming the very worst that Arrested Development, Scrubs and Curb Your Enthusiasm are all finished, we still have The Office, My Name Is Earl, Everybody Hates Chris and American Dad to enjoy.

    How good is that?!

    by hell_bender

I thought this would be another month or so away. This is the perfect first-day-back-at-work-pick-me-up.

Is Sarah Chalke i this series? I haven't heard anything about it?

    Please NBC, keep scrubs!

    by krangelus

god its brilliant. The Office, My Name is Earl & Scrubs. Now thats a lineup of great comedies.

If nbc cancels it i pray to god another network picks it up. Showtime anyone? Weeds + Scrubs = heaven.

Good to have you back, Brown Bear!

    by rufus_t_firefly

Having my tied-for-favorite comedy back will help dull the pain of losing "Arrested"... and yes, Mr. Chicken, it would be nice to see Carla and Elliott in 16x9 enhanced goodness. We can only hope.

My wife and I are watching the first two seasons and it is fantastic. Does the show maintain this level of hilarity?

Is Scrubs still as good as its first 2 years?

    by jack_bauer

Not quite in the 3rd year, the laughs slowed a little and it focused more on drama in the charecters lives but the fourth season bounced back to form. It began with one of the all time greatest Dr Cox rants. The "Things i don't care about" speech. Pure genius.

  • Was it 3 or 4 that had the return of Brendan Fraiser? That is probably my favorite 30 minutes of TV....ever.

"Assuming the very worst that Arrested Development, Scrubs and Curb Your Enthusiasm are all finished"

I might be willing to give up Arrested and Scrubs to rid the world of Curb Your Insomnia. And I love both those two shows dearly.

You have got to give it up to the writers. They know what we want. Elliott (Blonde Doctor) opening a ketchup bottle with her mouth. Thank you Tivo!

    by ao33

anyways, yeah, 3rd season was the perfect combination of drama and comedy, as far as i'm concerned the best written season. and the last episode featuring brendan fraiser is in my top five episodes from any series, ever... also in my top five would by "My Life In 4 Cameras" which is season 4

last night's Scrubs was the best ever

    by sabine16

The first episode last night was the best ever- Man cards, Lindsay, Keith, J.D. stuffed in a backpack, Carla's birth control pills, Elliott stealing supplies, life-size J.D. cardboard cutouts- all of it was just genius.

3&4 was more irritating as it became more sugary

    by chorleyfm

They started to lay it on a bit thick with some of the voiceovers and plots. For pure comedy though the level has pretty much remained. The Turner and Hooch stuff in season 4 was magic.

    Way to Promote, NBC

    by dictatordaniel

Is it just me or did NBC not have any promos for the new Scrubs episodes? They have been showing commercials for their new night of "Must-See TV" all the damned time, but if it weren't for Herc I might have missed the first two new episodes of one of my favorite all-time shows.
