Yeah, yeah. I know. Hercules The Strong is “too cool” for NIP/TUCK. His loss. Even though it’s been a slightly weaker year for the series, it’s still compulsively sleazy fun, and the mystery of the identity of the Carver has kept viewers guessing all year long. Now, finally, we’re going to see the identity revealed tonight. I’m betting it won’t happen until the last few moments, leading to another cliffhanger designed to torture us all until 2007.

My bet for the Carver? Liz. I’m telling you right now. It’s Liz. She’s been disgusted by the antics of Drs. McNamara and Troy since the start of the series. She’s seen them do real damage to the lives of some patients. She’s made plenty of comments about the way the practice puts outward appearance over inner integrity. “Beauty is a curse on the world,” indeed. She’s big enough to have physically pulled it off. A strap-on would solve the pesky rape issue. And the big clue?

Remember the episode earlier this year where the woman faked being attacked by the Carver? Remember when she was operated on by Dr. Troy, but due to a mistake, she was aware the entire time and felt the whole operation? Well, Liz was the one who administered that anesthesia. That was no mistake. That was punishment.

I’m rooting for Roma to be the one under the mask when all is said and done, but I freely acknowledge that I may be totally wrong. We’ll know in just a few hours. Until then, take up our valuable bandwidth with predictions and speculation.
