Some notes on 7.1:

Loved all the stuff with Matt, Leo, Josh and Donna. Nice of them to set up the reality show shadowing Matt’s blogger’s assistant.

Bored to tears by the stuff with the NASA leak (except for the performance by the never-disappointing Oliver Platt). The opening flashforward revealed that chief of staff Claudia Jean will not be in jail three years from now, draining away all suspense.

Speaking of the opening flashforward? That was my favorite bit of the episode, but would have been improved 200 to 300 percent had Sam Seaborn been among the participants. 2,000 to 3,000 percent had a pregnant-looking Moira Kelly been glimpsed leaning against Sam. It wouldn’t have killed me to see Danica McKellar, Elisabeth Moss, Mary-Louise Parker, Lily Tomlin or Allison Smith in that scene either.

Garofalo joins the cast tonight as a mean girl.
