Wolverine pops up online! Sneaked pics from the set of X3!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here... you know, I have to admit that a part of me was rooting for Brett Ratner to fail with the film since so much seems so wrong up front. But looking at these pictures and just seeing Hugh Jackman with his Wolvie hair and wife-beater... I just want X3 to be good. I want Ratner to pull it off. I love the look of the location and I want Wolverine to be in a good X-MEN movie, dammit! Hopefully this site below will stay up with the onslaught of traffic and, probably, studio lawyers.

Yet another present for us! Well the rest have to deal with an UPDATED article...Boo hoo sleepy bizatches!
-
'Nuff said.
-
Hmm...
-
from a line like "CLICK IT HERE AND GO BERSERKER RAGE ALL OVER! DO IT, BUB!" you get that garbage, i got all excited to see wolverine standing in a forest, wow, this is stupid and just as shitty as the movie will probably be.
-
with a title like 'CLICK IT HERE AND GO BERSERKER RAGE ALL OVER! DO IT, BUB!" i get all excited and all i get is wolverine in the distance standing in a forest, the pics are as as worthless as the movie is gonna be, the pic went all downhill after singer left. i think i would have maybe liked vaugh's approach after watching the q & a with him on the layer cake dvd but he was too anti-hollywood for the suits to let him handle a franchise like this, im sure they pushed him away. anyway, i hope im wrong and ratner pulls through.
-
Hmmmm, getting hungry, maybe a little fish??
-
Vaungh "was too anti-hollywood"? He produced 'Snatch' starring brad pitt, he's married to Claudia Schiffer and would seem, would like nothing more than to be a big hollywood director. He left X-Men 3 because he didn't want to be away filming from his wife and family. With a wife like that I don't blame him. It's better than messing around with men in tights for a year.
-
But Hugh is a hottie.
-
Because this site just don't got the scoops no more! Harry, Moriarty and co. are now such desperate corporate shills that they can no longer share any of their (now truly) "insider info"! YAAAAAR POOPHEADS
-
The link said sneaked set pics of Wolverine and that's *exactly* what they were. What were you expecting? A full action pose of him bending one into Storm?

Not sure why thou.

seriously. first one kicked arse. second one was just wasted

It's a complete and utter BS reason for leaving a project, especially if it's your 'dream' to work in Hollywood. Wanting to be closer to your family sounds all nice, but to walk away from X3, it smells all wrong. He was shit for the project too, he would have turned it into Alien 3. His 'vision' involved using as few special effects as possible, to tell a human story. Fuck off, it's X-men. You don't make a good X-men film by having them sit around and talk about politics and persecution all day. Their powers need to explode in this film. I've had enough of mutants who don't know how to fully realise and command their inner strengths. Unleash that mutant energy it the full spectacular displays that the X-men are capable of.

As much as I dislike Ratner's style, I have a feeling XMEN 3
by spacesheik
the fact that there are a crapload of xmen characters in this is a good sign -- can we have cyclops use his powers on someone other than an Xmen please? Can we see him kick butt -- so far the Xmen films have given cyclops short shrift
-
I disliked Cyclops in the comics, couldn't stand him in the cartoon, and absolutely loathed him in the film. I am glad they at least kept his charactor consistent.
-
gets such a bad deal in these movies and....SPOILER ALERT ************ he dies in this one, so he's better go out in a blaze of glory *********** SPOILER ENDS. I thought he was going to kick some butt in X2, but that tiny bit of action he got at Magneto's cell did not appease my want for some full on optic action!
-
Cyclops has always been my favorite X-Man, but I haven't been pleased with the movie version. Singer did a good job of portraying Cyclop's love of Jean and his tenuous & combative relationship with Wolverine, but never showed his leadership abilities.
-
til the product is out and you've seen it - quit bitching. You sound like a bunch of old women. Cripes.
-
The pic with the stuntman in it cracks me up- what could make X3 more awesome than having 2 Wolverines! The Marvel video games that are coming out soon look pretty awesome- I'm hoping the best for this movie but only time will tell.
-
I don't think Ranter's a bad choice of director (probably as good as we were going to get after Singer left. It's not like the A-list were going to be Q'ing up for his leftovers), just worried that he isn't a strong enough character to wrestle the project back from the interfering execs that we're led to believe have taken over. Going to keep fingers crossed for it though...
-
Cyclops had a couple of issues where he was a badass and really showed some leadership abilities. In fact in the first "Secret Wars" series he friggn' blew a whole side of a mountain apart when he was trapped with a group of other supers underneath the mountain. The fact that he has been portrayed in a non leader type roll in the movies is going to reduce the impact of his "SPOILER"......... death.
-
and fanboys wonder why people diss them. if you can get excited over Hugh Jackman just standing in a forest, with no idea why or when or anything, then may God have mercy on your soul. this is truly boring news.
-
And that's probably a good thing. Or maybe he can't find Bryan Singer and is annoyed by it? "Who's that hack behind that monitor?"
-
I am just glad to see Jackman back in character. The execs could have been dumb enough to opt him out. Even if this movie ends up sucking major eggs, I hope there are a couple of great scenes with Wolvie. The last two films came through in that regard. "How do I know it's you?" "You're a dick." Great stuff.
-
they def. have f*cked up cyclops in these movie.
-
Last time I checked, this series was supposed to be an ensemble piece, and as bad as FF was, they got that right to an extent. If Ratner gives the main characters all some decent screentime, he will no longer be on my shit list.
-
snatch was not hollywood, it didnt "star" brad pitt, it was more of an ensemble cast with jason statham's character being the center, moron. guy ritchie has even commented that when brad pitt asked to work with him he made sure he gave him a smaller part so it wasnt starring him. and i was just saying thats what i thought he must have left from watching the q&a where he says he didnt want the hollywood ending and made it sound like he didnt like hollywood or LA at all. just like you are putting in your opinion that he left because he wanted to see his wife and kids, since niether of us know him we cant be sure, so stop being such a dick and comment on the pictures or the movie and not me, becuase in the end its my opinion against yours and will never be proven.

Does this link actually work? When I try it I just get a 'done but with errors on page' and no pictures.

Are you guys even comics readers or just casual observers. Wolverine only wears jeans, t-shirts and plaid or lumberjack, or leather jackets. That's the wardrobe, get used to it. After this flick is done I hope to never see Famke as Phoenix ever again. She looks like an old tired hag. Leave her old ass on FX and Nip/Tuck.
-
Truth be told, I did not care much for the story but it was worth a read. Also, it amazes me people working on sets risk losing their jobs to get photos like these. Wolverine was in the first two movies, played by the same actor. It's not like we are seeing anything all that new. To risk your job just to impress a bunch of anonymous geeks baffles me. Especially since, by reading above, no one was all that impressed. Then again, there is a lot of foliage in the photos. Plant perhaps?
-
hes turning into the Data of the Xmen films

And Jean Grey returns as Phoenix. Who-gives-a-fuck.

Wolverine is the best part of the X-MEN movies and you all know
by doc_mccoy
Hope X3 is better than X2, which was dull and poorly plotted.
-
Honestly Quint, cut the caffine from your diet. There was NOTHING to get so excited about concerning those pictures.
-
You guys and your "First" crap is just ridiculous
-
This franchise got lucky as hell with the casting of Jackman. Take him out and neither film is any good. As long as they keep the focus on Wolverine, I see no reason to think X3 will be much better or worse. He's the toughest screen presence since Dirty Harry, which is pretty amazing considering how fey Hugh Jackman is in real life.
-
Glad to see some other geeks same page as me. Any of the scenes that are memorable to me have Jackman in them. In X2 when they ask what he is a professor of. "Art" The scene at Bobby's parents house, "Drop the knives!" "I can't." If you don't have him, the movies would be meh at best.

Do you actually read the talkback or do you just find it appealing to post inane diarrhea? No one actually dissed X3 at all before your post. Maybe some were rightly disappointed in the lame 'scoop', but your post was a simple waste of effort. Its design to elevate you above the whingers as though you're a calm, carefully weighted thinker has actually made you look like the retarded nerd you really are.

We don't have to pretend that the X-Men movies were good. We NEVER did. Don't you suckers see that?!?!

Much tree chopping action to be had? I hope so.

It's not my opinion, it's fact. I'm only telling you what Matthew Vaughn has said on why he left. If you don't like the truth (or the truth according to Vaughn), fine, but don't go shooting the messenger, pal..... I'll give you 'Snatch', my mistake. But please for the love of god, Chill out! you are gonna give yourself a heart attack. Count to 10 and say to yourself "It's only a movie".
-
... This franchise is headed for the cinematic equivalent of a hot coffee to the crotch; and a successful lawsuit follow-up.
-
and i never thought I'd say this, I have more hope for X3 with Brett Ratner than Superman Returns with Brian Singer
-
... so ... Barbara Broccoli nixed Hugh Jackman for James Bond because she didn't think he was masculine enough. What drugs is she on? He's frikkin' Wolverine!!!! That woman is out of her mind.
-
Hugh Jackman could quite easily be a Bond... but it wouldnt work in my opinion - Daniel Craig gets my vote. Jackman needs to stick to what he's good at... shnicky snicky shaw!!

Oh hey Brit this is my very first time posting on a tb other than the Aquaf@g......

Police Academy 3 - Back In Training. Since the first two were pretty poor, the third must be as good - but this one had Bobcat Goldthwaite becoming a cop - by my book, far superior!

But Jackman's made the role his own. More power to him - hope he finds a part as good when the X series is done.

i was up for more than 24 hours from work and shit, i appreciate you being honest about snatch too. but if you dont mind me asking did you watch the q&a on the layer cake dvd? and where did you get the info of vaughn leaving to make it a fact, not being a dick just curiuos.

He has a hot ass wife. And not in a Cruise/Holmes beard type way. So the guy does Broadway musicals. Everyone who does that and works with Bryan Singr doesn't smoke pole. Patrick Stewart is a stage actor and is also in X-Men and I know you're not suggesting that Captain Picard bends over for anyone.

Hugh Jackman is married, has an ex-wife and a kid or two also...
by doom ii
Not "adopted" kids ala Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman, but a REAL I fucked a girl and she had my baby kinda kid. He's not gay. Tom Cruise on the other hand.....
-
And I have less hope for X3. too many characters make the films unfocused and empty.
-

Jackmans wife is a slightly fat blond and their kid is adopted
by justice41
She is definately a beard and the kids as much cover as Jodie Fosters kid.
-
I think the first kid, a boy was from Indonesia or Malaysia. Either he's a poof or he's infertile or she is.
-
If X3 is suffering from anything it's a rushed production. I know that there will be three years between the releases of the films (just like the last time) but I think that Fox should have taken the time to refine the story and get it right. Instead they threw a temper tantrum when Singer decided to go do Superman Returns. It smacks of pettiness and immaturity the way that Fox has been acting, saying that you can't be in Superman and X-Men, etc. etc. etc.
Also, Moviemack, what made you think that Bale missed the mark as Bruce Wayne? I actually thought he got it right, as I had always read Bruce Wayne as a flighty playboy (think John F. Kennedy Junior). I thought that he did a good job. -

better than Mad Max and Roadwarrior.
-
Was a pretty awesome third installment, and a lot better than the second.
-
was also a third flick in a franchise that was better than the second.
-
is the best of all of them.
-
is the best one, just for the junkyard fight. That Tackleberry sure could shoot!
-
Sure, no worries. I saw him on tv at a premiere in london (can't remember which film) where he was asked the question and also Avi Arad has said the same thing. Think I saw avi say it on one of these video clips www.iesb.net/marvel/063005.php
-
...did I dream it?
-
Give it a rest, children! It just seems strange to me that if an actor (and one of some merit ie Cruise, Jackman etc.) is good looking, rich, has a nice girl on his arm and stars in a number one blockbuster, you lot think he is gay. He may well be (who gives a fuck) but your obsession with it all is very distrubing.
-
The first direct to video sequel, seventh in the series.
-
It was released theatrically over here in the UK. It didn't have many, many, many, many, many, many takings. I heard there was talk of a reunion movie, but isn't the guy who played Tackleberry dead now?
-
Yep 'ol Tack's in the shooting range in the sky now.

'Tis a shame. His fending off of a shark in Assignment: Miami Beach was the stuff of legend.

the return of Chappy Sinclair

...was nominated for Best Picture. Oh my.

All I could find is Heart failure.
-
I like Jackman, but ever since PLATOON, I've wanted to see Willem Dafoe play Wolverine. He's short, he's got those high John Buscema-style cheekbones, he often plays a badass, and he's got a good Logan voice. Imagine him sticking claws in some guy's face and calling him "bub". I also always thought Tom Berenger should have been THE PUNISHER.
-
...this material probably directs itself. The characters are there already, the effects are there already, the performances are there already...there's no way they can go wrong with any of those things. Unfortunately, that means at best the story will be yet another retread involving anti-mutation viruses or some bullshit like that, but at least it won't be BAD. I predict the film will turn out to be just ho-hum, which I guess is better than sucking, right? And if that does turn out to be the case, just end the series while there's still some semblence of credibility to it, or else turn it over to a director who will really turn up the volume. They need to stop while they're sort of ahead and nip any future Batman and Robins in the bud before some studio executive suggests adding in Richard Pryor (or his modern equivalent - Chris Rock) or a golden Nuclear Man.
-
But, then, it's really more like Star Wars 6, isn't it? I also think Rocky III is a more entertaining movie than I or II. Maybe X3 needs Mr. T. And what about "Richard III"? I don't know anybody that even saw "Richard" or "Richard II".
-
Return of the King, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Revenge of the Sith, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Christmas Vacation... All superior third installments.
-
There are a lot of 3rd installments that are better than the second but usually not as good as the first. Star Trek 3 I guess was marginally better than the first. And of course Jaws: 3D was obviously better than the original. Because like, it was in one more dimension.
-
How could you forget Halloween 3: Season of the Witch? Apox on thee!
-
I want to meet Mirabelle.
-
Booyakasha
-
My new "pragmatic: attitude is that this cast doesn't really so much need direction as it needs Ratner to put the necessary film in the can for FOX's pissing contest. I suppose that's the only reason I'll see this with any scintilla of hope.
-
Where is Rogue in X3?
