You couldn't have lumped this with the supernatural article you just put up? This is just an ad for EW. But, I'll forgive you, for you turned me on to Veronica Mars, for which I am forever in your debt.

Maybe they'll move it against Lost

    by domi'sinnerchild

After it gets killed by House like they did Veronica Mars. Do TV execs realize they're totally screwing it up for us still strapped to Cable boxes? The magic of Tivo can't solve the problems unless they rerun the show on F/X, MTV, whatever later in the week.

    by kungfumanchu

Thought it had a good cast & enough laugh out loud moments for me to watch it again. It didn't use a laugh track, which is always a bonus in my book. At best it could be an under the radar show like Scrubs & at worst it might end up one of those "cancelled cult classics". I'd like to see the former happen, but my money would be on the latter.

    Probably the best new sitcom

    by zp-blight

For one, it doesn't feel like a sitcom, it feels like a movie. It's shot like a movie.

And Jason Lee is good, heck, everyone is good, it would be interesting to see how it carries over time, but the pilot itself was original and has lots of promise.

I might be in them minority ...

    by itchy

but I really like the schedule. Jason Lee followed by "The Office" ? I bet NBC execs were furious the season didn't start the week after The 40 Year Old Virgin debuted.

In any event, this has the potential to be a remarkable hour of comedy ... some of the best in years. Jamie Pressly needs to star in "Fingercuffs 2: Electric Boogaloo"

This might be the first sitcom I'll watch since Seinfeld.

    by i dunno

...then I'll probably get tired of it. But Jason Lee kicks ass and if Kevin Smith had half a brain or one nut or the attention span above a loquatious spider monkey he would have already had Lee in a Fletch movie. And don't tell me about Rescue Me, I've DVR'd it and haven't seen it yet!

I wanted to see "My Name is Earl", but I won't get a chance. I usually watch "Amazing Race" and record "House." Who knows this season it may be the other way around.Cause Fox's Tuesday line-up is looking pretty damn good.

    Smith Wanted Lee

    by banky the hack

For Fletch, but the studios didn't think he was a big-enough name for it. So don't pin the blame on Kevin...he rightly knows that Jason Lee would make an awesome Fletch.

5x better than Joey-- poor man's Coen Brothers

    by preciousroy

I consider myself a Jason Lee fan, but I have avoided
the romantic comedies he's done outside of Kevin Smith
movies. The premise is as simple as it seems from the
previews: Earl is a two-bit crook/lowlife who wins the
lottery only to lose his winning scratch ticket in a
traffic mishap, as well as his cheating wife (Jamie
Pressley in superb typecasting), her kids with other
men, and the trailer home they shared with Earl's
equally useless brother, Randy (the surprisingly funny
    Ethan Suplee).

Watching television while in traction, he catches a
brief snippet of Carson Daily explaining the general
superstition of Karma: do bad things, and bad things
happen; do good things, good things happen. Realizing
that Earl has yet to do one good thing in his life, he
decides to atone for his evil past and bring himself
some good fortune. Earl, Randy, and the cute maid at
the hotel they stay at, Catalina, start on a long
checklist Earl has built of his wrongs.

He starts with littering, by picking up as much trash
as he's littered. Just as Randy tempts Earl off the
path, Earl picks up the lottery ticket he lost when he
was run over. With money in hand, they are off on
Earl's quest to bring good things to those he has
    wronged.

I will stop runing this pilot with my play-by-play and
say this: if you like Scrubs, watch this. If you
watch Joey in the hopes that it will someday make you
laugh as hard as Friends did, watch this. It's a sort
of poor man's Coen Brothers film in serial format.

It's hard not to like this show. The acting is a bit
cartoonish, but it's still very funny, light comedy.
Some of my favorite moments in the pilot (running from
kenny's, "dibs", "crabman!" "4 beers") are peripheral
to the story but say a lot about the kind of
adventures we're in for with Earl, Randy and Catalina.
    I'm in.
