but sounds like Brian Cox is a good fit for that show.

And why is it that every other word in Deadwood is "cocksucker?"

    Cox vs McShane

    by maxcalifornia.

Holy shit, there's a showdown that's gonna burn the screen up. They could do an entire episode with just these two staring at each other for an hour and it would still be riveting tv.

    by demosthenes2

I bet it's unprecedented that relatively not long after an Oscar win a leading lady signed for a multiepisode arc on a sitcom. Hopefully that'll finally tune viewers in to how smart and worthy of attention Arrested Development is.

Oh yeah and that Aeon Flux trailer was uhh... Huh.

Charlize did display some major comedic chop in "Monster."

    by smarkjobber

Intentional or un, her white trash psycho caricature was at turns (maybe inappropriately) hilarious. She out-tic'd the real Wuornos, and was one wolf T-shirt away from being in the wrong film. She should do fine in "AD," -- if nothing else, hopefully she can attract a few more viewers.

    by crazyeyezkillah

so hopefully he'll play someone just as psychotic. That guy who played the guy who shot Buffalo Bill and played Mr. Wolcott had better not be back this season as a new character. Every time I see that Frappacino commercial with that fat Michael Buble or whatever sining, say "That whore got her throat cut by Mr. W..." and nobody knows what I'm talking about.

And for AICN, that's really saying something. Every single post this cretin has spewed forth over the past few days reeks of moronic simplicity and the ultimate in bad geek fanboy whiny assholism. May you get a head tumor and die an painfully extended screaming death, then be hit by a truck just to make sure, and sooner rather than later. Cretin.

if famous guest stars like Carl Weathers (just kidding), Ben stiller, Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Heather Graham, Liza Minnelli, and Martin Short, etc. haven't boosted this show's ratings... not to mention an emmy win for best comedy and loads of press and great reviews during its perfect first season, and a crappier, dumbed down second season that probably turned first-time viewers off... I'm sorry but realisticly this show has already maxed out on it's potential viewer base. It will never be watched consistintly by more than six million viewers (tops), despite the best efforts of Charlize Theron and FOX's annoying promos. FOX only renewed because the people there like it and so they could sell it to another network in syndication. I'm not complaining though.

  • and yes I knew from the main page they must have been referring to Charlize Theron appearing on a TV show - not more episodes of the animated show even before reading the article. Can still hope though ...

    Giant fucking pigs?

    by greased deaf guy

Actually, blame that one on the book rather than the movie. Boars were cross bred until they developed a species that would eat a live human. That was all Thomas Harris there. And the little kid brain ending is better than Lecter and Starling running off to Brazil to take in some Opera.
And not to mention Mason's sister, a lesbian bodybuilder with a 3 inch clit who wanted her brother's seed so she could conceive...who was portrayed as a male aid in the movie.

Firefly, Deadwood and Ed Wood are all excellent shows and movie(s), so I'm not sure what you're getting at by saying that one makes the other look like another. Obviously Deadwood is about more than cursing or else the people who usually complain about the cursing, wouldn't go on to say how they don't understand the dialogue (not you, but most people who slam it)............. I've really tried to get into Arrested Development but I don't think it once made me laugh out loud. Would any fans care to point out what makes it so funny? Or compare it to another show, so that I can get a sense of how you rank it? Fox is so cancel happy, that I'm surprised this one lasted so long. I'm curious to understand why, maybe I've only caught bad episodes.

    by hamtaro_hentai

I can't give you one. It's along the same lines of having to explain a punch line, you just a get a 'Oh yeah, I get it now. Heh.' I laugh till my sides split at this show (If you don't laugh at the funeral episode, just give up) but if you don't, no worries, just watch something else.

Sorry, but Cox was the better Hannibal...

    by childe roland

...by far and much truer to the portrayal of the character in the book. Hopkins had amazing chemistry with Foster, but who couldn't? His hammy "I am the evil live action Bugs Bunny" turns in the other two Harris adaptations he starred in were evidence that he could only play the character well with help. Cox's Hannibal was note perfect.

    by chickychow

Love em both. And its pretty difficult to explain their appeal to someone who just isn't into them (hate to say "doesn't get it," but..). As for the moron comparing Deadwood to Ed Wood (???), get a fuckin life. What the fuck does that make Alien Resurrection then? by kadath

According to IMDB: "In the second draft of Ted Tally's screenplay, the names of three characters had to be changed from 'Thomas Harris' 's novel for legal reasons. "Jack Crawford" became "Ray Campbell"; "Frederick Chilton" became "Herbert Prentiss"; and, finally, "Hannibal Lecter" became "Gideon Quinn"."

***** Personally, I think an Irishman pissed off Ted Tally that day.

First off, Lecter is spelled differently in Manhunter...don't know why.Second, Both actors did a fine job with the charactor, they each just approached Lecter from a different angle with equally good results.
