The remake of THE KILLER
Then there is the matter of THE KILLER remake. That's right, you heard me correctly.
There is a script by Robert Mark Kamen based on the outstanding film by John Woo,.
It is a complete "americanization" of the original. The setting is moved to New York.
The Killer is a white guy, and the cop is written to be black. It is almost an exact scene
for scene retelling of the original. We are dealing with the Russian mafia.
The script is fine, reads well. In fact the entire time I was reading it, I was seeing in my
mind the original film. And after I was finished, I found myself wondering what exactly
the point to this is. I mean John Woo isn't doing this, I believe Walter Hill is attached to
direct. I like Walter Hill, but maaaaaaaaaan, let well enough alone.
There is only one scene in my opinion that is new and a good addition to the previous film,
and it involves a scene between Damien and the girl in Central Park. It is quite lovely.
But there is a very big problem that 99% or us won't be able to swallow. And that is the
Hollywoodization of a great film's ending. I won't say, cause I don't spoil things, but it is
like the .... anti-Killer ending.

Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?
-
The way I see it, if you're going to build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style? Besides, the stainless steel construction made the flux dispersal . . . Look out!
-
Orcus can have some fun with this. Hehehehe

Stop that! That tickles!

Did you ask somebody to put a shine on your knob, back on July 20th, 2010?
I submit that same request myself, if so. By a gaggle of harijuku girls, if at all possible. -
Orcus foresees it

Bless your pointy little ears.
