Did The American Fireman or The Iraqi Graphic Designer Get Voted Back Into BIG BROTHER''

Published at:  Aug 11, 2005 9:07:11 PM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

Is “Big Brother” a blue-state show?

The American public got to vote somebody back into the “Big Brother” house this summer.

Viewers had to choose between a fireman – a fireman like the firemen who died trying rescue my aunt in the World Trade Tower attacks on 9/11/01 – and a bona fide Iraqi, from Iraq, part of the axis of evil the president says is behind those 9/11 attacks! An Iraqi who makes his living as a California graphic designer!! How can you not hate this guy?

Okay, the American is kind of a prick. And the Iraqi is kind of menchy.

I thought it was a shoe-in.

I WAS WRONG!!!!!

And the new HOH competition is a doozy, and well worth the investment in that 24/7 feed to which I so obsessively subscribe!!

Mac? Are you watching this??

Take up valuable bandwidth with your predictions and reactions.

8 p.m. Thursday. CBS.

What does that mean? Is it a reference I don't get or a nonsensical neologism?

Anyway, I think it was pretty obvious that Kaysar was going back into the house. Eric is, as you said, a prick and everyone could see that. Kaysar ended up with something like 82% of the vote.

Seriously, there's political commentary (which I DO NOT come here for) and then there's trolling for a cheap flamewar on your own website, This write-up by Herc is not one of this website's shining moments. I have little love for a lot of the right-wing stance on things, but the left-side never fails to remind me how outlandishly stupid they can be. I'd like to think you people at AICN could do better.

Oh well, at least we didn't get to see an Ivette/Eric reunion. I wasn't surprised that Kaysar came back into the house, but I did know that anybody could've gotten back in considering how you could vote as many times as you want. Kaysar was the obvious choice though. If you go to cbs.com, there's a popularity poll and every week the Jedi's have gone up and the Friendship has gone down. Last week Kaysar had the highest approval rating and Eric had the lowest, even below Ivette.

Which is a good thing, because it means you must have some sort of a life. But anyway, Eric was more than a bit of a prick and I'm glad he's gone. I like and voted for Kaysar, but he's not the great strategic player everyone makes him out to be (He *was* voted out after all). Herc, if you're a righty republican, I bet you're rooting for James. The sad thing is, so am I (er, rooting for James, not a republican). He's one of the few playing the game. I hope he gets HOH and puts up Howie and Rachel. I liked Howie in the beginning due to the Star Wars factor, but his constant baby talk with Janelle and his bonehead nominations this week, resulting in the hottest woman in the house (Sarah) being evicted, prove to me he doesn't deserve to be there. My hope is that once Howie goes, Janelle and Kaysar will team up with James and finish off the Friendship to become final three.... oh, and to update any one without the feeds, 3 hours in and nobody has let go of their button. Looks like it'll be a long night.

I have a feeling that one of maggie's group (the friendship = worst. alliance. name. ever) will win the HoH and put up James and Janelle. Hopefully Kayser or James will win it and shake up the house. Oh and the Jarhead trailer is not the suck (unlike the poster).

Yes, Kaysar was voted back in by America's Choice. He won with an OVERWHELMING amount of the votes, like 82% of something. He was my choice, no question about it ... I can't stand "Cappy", especially the way the other sheep in the house seem to just hang on him. I'd rather he be gone so at least half of the house has to think for themselves.

    The True Priapic

    by scarranhalfbreed

I totally agree with the hate contest thing. The thing I loved about previous BBs was the fact that you actually found some of the contestants funny without laughing AT them. That's why Brian won - he was a very funny, quick witted guy. But the producers seem to pick the good looking and the vaccuous or the deeply odd now. Watching endless arguments and people saying "Fuck off!" all the time isn't entertaining. The most heart-warming part of the latest series was when Kemal's family accepted him - it was genuinely moving. BUT THAT WAS IT! Jesus Christ, they were all idiots, every single one of them. They were all self-obsessed, selfish whores, like you said. One consolation is that they'll only be famous for the next two weeks, but they'll probably earn more squid than you or I put together.

I see the irony no one else sees, Herc.

    by darth kubrick

You see, we're supposed to be sympathetic to an Iraqi in America. Maybe that's where the blue-state thing comes in. We're supposed to sympathize with people from Iraq. Then there are those who assume (wrongly) that Iraq attacked us on 9/11, thus justifying the war. Those people should be repulsed by an Iraqi, because they killed 4000 Americans that day, right. Except that the hijackers were mostly Saudis. You know, the people whose king our president walks hand-in-hand with when he visites the U.S. Some people think that when you go to war ALL the people in that country are your enemies. But then we went there to free them, right? Maybe that's where the blue state thing comes in. Like blue-staters don't agree with the war so we won't like Kaysar. Well, I don't like the war or Kaysar and they have nothing to do with each other. It's like some kind of super anti-PC thing, rooting for Kaysar. Well, he won't win and his 'team' are going down... one at a time.

    no politics

    by smackfu

It has nothing to do at all with politics, or PC\anti-pc. It simply has to do with observing people behave on a daily basis, and deciding whether or not you like them. From watching BB, Kaysar comes across as a very relaxed, intelligent, level-headed, shrewd guy. He's a born leader, and those around him follow him naturally. 'Cappy' comes across as a whiny little bitch-man, immensely insecure, who brands people his enemy at the drop of a hat and at the same time puts himself up on the cross. And when he brands someone his enemy, he obsesses over them, working himself into a constant state of hyperventilation...Michael on the other hand, is pretty much inert. He's a nice enough guy, but at the same time a bit of an idiot and watching him put half-assed moves on all the girls in the house was a little irritating. So the choice was obvious.

Yeah. And Zell Miller is left-of-liberal, and a hippie. Don't care what you're registered as, Herc, that doesn't put you on the right. As a matter of fact, every time I've seen you say you were a Republican--EVERY time--it was in the context of "See? I'm a REPUBLICAN, and I think like this! Which is not at all the way you would expect a Republican to think! But trust me! I am one! No, really! Hey, where are you all going?!" Seriously, I could go out and register as a Democrat tomorrow, and mention it all the time in conversation. It wouldn't change the fact that I'd be a pro-life, pro-hawk, anti-big-government Democrat, and thus a poor fit with the party. Seriously, dude.
