Man you are right. That site is creepy as hell. I can see the sweaty fat perv's sitting at their keyboards now, grooming unsuspecting kids with their posts.
Aug. 1, 2005, 2:20 a.m. CST
guess they blue-screened the eyepatch to have a cgi eye...but it reminds me of thos glasses you can get that have holograms of eyeballs in them = not as real-looking as a crazy eye in one's head could look

Looks good...if only they had gotten Fleur right.
Aug. 1, 2005, 2:32 a.m. CST
All I can say is he better not wear the eyepatch through 90% of the movie and just take it off for a couple of "monay shots." Also, whats with the straps connecting the eye socket? And his face could be a little more scarred...said in the book it looked like it was chisseled from wood. But now I'm just nitpicking. www.unseenfilms.com

the post a few down from Mad eye... "Emma Imprisoning me All that I see Absolute horror I cannot live I cannot die Trapped in myself Body my holding cell Emma has taken my sight Taken my speech Taken my hearing Taken my arms Taken my legs Taken my soul Left me with life in hell" Yeah, that's just about the creepiest thing I've ever read. This was taken from the Harry Potter edition of the Scene It! party game that's been out for a few weeks. It includes questions and images (and possibly clips) from the GoF movie. The thumbnails of this and a ton of other pics from the game (all taken on some guy's cell phone camera) can be found at http://tinyurl.com/8xkv7

Wouldn't Quint know it was a fake, since he saw it at Comic-con and all? No idea why he would post it if it was a fake... damn, mis-reporting film people! I thought I read about the straps in the latest Potter book, in his description... I can't remember Goblet, I read it so long ago... Anyway, point was, it must be real if Quint posted it after seeing it in a trailer at the Con.

You mean the actor won't be able to make his eyeball spin around in his head WITHOUT FX?! Thanx for the news flash. Peace.
Aug. 1, 2005, 6:21 a.m. CST
It's not a fake pic. This is how he looks in the film. The eye was CGI in some parts but was animatronic in others. It looks like a robotic eye sitting on top of his real eye. The gold ring is raised up above the skin and the eye protrudes from the ring. Note the scarring all over his face. That was freakier than the eye IMHO.

Sir Patrick Moore man. Sheesh, you sure it's BG doing this character really?

He looks too much like that one character from the Dark Crystal...
Aug. 1, 2005, 8:58 a.m. CST
Sorry, I really did picture somone more like Ian McKellen or Hugh Laurie with Marty Feldman's eyes, someone more weathered and gaunt ("big" doesn't have to mean fat). To date this is the biggest disconnect for me in the Potter movie casting. But it's not a huge problem. I may love the performance. David Thewlis really became Lupin for me, so I have a lot of faith. I do hope they get Brian Blessed for Slughorn though. And I don't care if she is the Fat Lady now, Dawn French would chew the scenery to bits as Umbridge. But I'll bet they get someone more familiar to US audiences like Brenda Fricker or Judi Dench. Not that either of them would be bad...
Aug. 1, 2005, 9:21 a.m. CST
People saying 'his face doesn't look scarred enough' should remember that this is a kids movie. It's OK for J.K. Rowling to describe his face as being scarred to shit with chunks taken out of it, but to actually see that onscreen is another matter. I also feel how they've done the eye is to make it less extreme. To actually see it rolling around in his eyesocket just wouldn't make it into a PG. I don't think.
Aug. 1, 2005, 9:22 a.m. CST
...how about Brian Cox. He is immediately who I pictured when I forst read this character in the book. Gleeson is good, but man, I hope that pic is fake. It's cheesy

that's going to piss me off! What about the one that lives in serious blacks house that hates muggles & mudd bloods? I was looking forward to him, or is that in the OOTP? ok these books are definitely starting to merge in my head
Aug. 1, 2005, 10:22 a.m. CST
well that kinda sucks, I guess harmonie will have less to bitch about anyway, making her that much more attractive to all the pervs of the world. But yes your right I'm thinking of The Order SPOILER ALERT!!! were creature offers some racist comic relief and doby helps harry find the training room for D.A.. I remember thinking goblet was one of the better books but because of the ending's darkness & (spoiler again) death, I just hope they stick to the book with that. And go help us when Order comes because I would love if they made a serious change to the ending of that one (pun intended)

Dear oh dear. Have you actually read these books trevorfactor or are you so retarded that someone has to read them to you?
Aug. 1, 2005, 10:38 a.m. CST
Sorry but if they're going to keep on with the movies then by the 6th it will certainly not be a film aimed at children, not by a long shot. JK took the kid's book ideals out into the street and shot it in the head (if book 6 is to be taken at face value). All the other books had some sort of resolution for good (yes even 5) but not 6. Avada Kedavra bitches!
Aug. 1, 2005, 10:49 a.m. CST
actually I do have someone read them to me but not because I'm retarded by any means. his name is Jim Dale, maybe you've heard of him. who I enjoy listening too because I've seen him on broadway several times and had the pleasure of meeting him once. So fuck you very much for praying on my minds merging of these books but it has been a while! Also thank you prior for not opting to be an asshead like bart & for being a nice guy. Also prior I think he's got it a lot worse in the beginning of book 6 (ie no serious)

I did and Jim Dale is amazing. reading the books does carry a value in and of itself. but listening to JD tell the story gives it a whole new depth. seriously the guy can do like 200 different voices for all the characters

Aug. 1, 2005, 12:21 p.m. CST
The reason his face looks like it's in a crystal ball is because it IS in a crystal ball. This is an "All Play" puzzle from SCENE IT? HARRY POTTER EDITION - they show you a crystal ball, and there is a really messed up picture there. It slowly moves around, becoming more and more recognizable as it progresses, until a clear picture is shown. remember, THESE SCREENCAPS ARE SCREENCAPS FROM THE DVD GAME!!! AFAIK, these clips came from the Goblet of Fire movie itself, but these caps were taken by someone using their cellphone camera while playing the game!!! Look at my first post a bit further up for the location on uksnitch.co.uk where they came from. Quint, check the address I listed above!

as I sit in my office (pretending to be working) I've been deeply entrenched about this whole HP book 6 & 7 thing. So far in the movies nothing tragic has acquired that really makes one sad except serious having to stay in secrecy. Yet that far fails in comparison to the shit storm thats coming and I agree with Prior that this is going to end up as one angry ass teenager who watched all the people he loved die and now has to fight a war! So as I sit here I'm finding it difficult to even fathom a happy ending to this tale. I mean seriously who gives a shit if vuldamort gets beat by harry - it hardly makes up for the crappy life he's had to lead. K gonna go slit my wrists now

Why did they cast a 13 year old boy as Fleur Delacour?
Aug. 1, 2005, 2:51 p.m. CST
once they get the effects done, I really hope they'll release it or if anything keep the same music. God that was great.
Aug. 1, 2005, 3 p.m. CST
Just for a second though.
Aug. 1, 2005, 3:22 p.m. CST
One of the thing that JK has gotten exactly right is the growth of Harry through adolescence. The books follow this well. HBP captures 16 year old angst better than any bitter chick singer that I have ever heard, and OOTP was so dead on a 15 year olds attitude that it was scary. I hope that there is more to Mad-Eye's skin than just the scarring though, I had imagined his flesh to be a little more Ent-like, as though a curse to turn him into wood had mostly failed.(Could also explain his leg.)
Aug. 1, 2005, 3:29 p.m. CST
Not the most flattering shot but I could see where they're going with it.
Aug. 1, 2005, 4:06 p.m. CST
you will never see a "dark" harry potter movie. Theyve been labeled as kids movies, and thats theyre target demographic. The people involved in the franchise made a butt load of money so far and they arnt about to risk changing anything(except for the source material that is). For every sinister thing they cant cut from the movie theyll add 2 ultra cute and innocent scenes, that is if they dont just water the whole thing down. But basically they want to appeal to the kids and the younger the better, cuz nothing boosts box office grosses like kids screaming to see a movie again and again (Hell look at Shrek). Theyll give the adults enough reason to watch it (like Shrek) but prepare for some major "cringe factor".
Aug. 1, 2005, 4:16 p.m. CST
why is it everyone loves harry potter, yet i've found the books (or at least the first chapter of the philosophers stone...thats as far as i could stand) insipid, the films bland and boring, and the appeal of a spotty, bespectacled teenager to be beyond my comprehension. where are todays REAL heroes? heroes that young boys would grow up spending hours upon hours playing as. heroes like luke skywalker, flash gordon, he-man, batman, captain kirk. these are guys who, if faced with 'he who shall not be named' would slice his ugly head off or kick start his jaw rather than pointing a stick and shouting of gibberish, then turning into white glowing mooses. the one thing that REALLY bothers me about this shit is that it isnt a passing fad like pokemon, digimon, gangamon, beyblades (who, if u ask kids today, are like, totally NOT spinning tops with flashing lights and a 400% price markup and totally worth an entire fucking cartoon made out of them), and the 100 other bullshit out there for kids, the thing that bothers me is that this fucking harry potter is LITERATURE. one day, 100s of years in the future, kids will be forced to read this garbage in school, curse the day jk 'fuck u' rowling ever put pen to paper and then, someday, use a time machine, go back in time and brutally murder the bitch with some kind of laser. sorry to go on a rant...i just REALLY hate this stuff. give me lord of the rings anyday over this trash.

Prisoner of Azkaban was pretty dark, and this next one is as dark if not darker (I also saw the test screening). The kids are growing up, the world is getting more dangerous, and the movies ARE reflecting that.

That picture is misleading. The bottom half of his face and neck is cut off to make him look squat and cartoony. The Moody in the movie is kick ass and I can't imagine anyone disliking him once you see Gleeson in action.

...but this clearly ups the ante in all the good ways. Very exciting. CONSTANT VIGILANCE!!
Aug. 1, 2005, 6:37 p.m. CST
This subplot may be my least favorite part of the HP series. Not that it's out of character for Hermione, or otherwise wrong. It just seems wholly unnecessary, given that there are several other subplots in GOF as well as the arching theme of the resurrection of Voldemort. Given the length of the book, the SPEW storyline probably could have been cut, and I have no problem with them cutting it from the movie.
Aug. 1, 2005, 7:39 p.m. CST

We can't bash Mad-Eye until we see his damn eye in spinnig action. As far as I see it, yeah, that is not how I pictured Mad-Eye. But, if this guy can act out the charactor then I will stand by it. Also, some needs to get these assholes to start film years 5 and 6 at the same time because all those hogwarts bastards are getting to look too old.
