I know completely off target but if you like 24 and have not yet gotten a 1st season disc set, today I picked up a copy of the first season in widescreen for 20 bucks at BJ's Wholesale Club (no jokes on the name of the store please, it really is called that for those who have never heard of it). I could not believe my eyes, 20 bucks. Unfortunately, the other seasons still are 50 bucks there. I'm patient. LOL

Sorry had to pass it along for those interested and who have a BJ's near them to check it out.

Good luck to those going for the contest.

The pilot is one of the best openers of any show I've ever seen and if it can keep up the momentum the series will be a classic.

    by kintar0

I'd say it was pretty fair game. Easy one, right? C'mon! How can you expect people to pass up something so ripe? BJ's! It's funny, I actually know a guy who goes by B.J. Which is weird enough that his name is initials, but also means blow job. I really think that's too much to expect. BJ's. You got it cheap at BJ's. Sweet.

There-in might be the long term problem for sustaining the quality of Prison Break episodes. A lot of shows in the past have found it too big an if. I do agree though, it was a good pilot. Here's hoping ...

FOX is actually doing shit right? And taking risks on AD? My mind just farted, but I'm loving every second of it. And Family Guy is still dead-on this season (chugging peroxide had me in tears, Stewies rant on Brian's three-year-old novel, etc.). When does AD's 2nd season come out on DVD?

    Branding

    by electric_monk

I'm delighted and a bit confused by FOX's move. All or most of these shows have a mere two to three week run before FOX launches into the baseball playoffs and World Series in October. True, the network has a conundrum with their shows. While baseball has been a big ratings winner and driven a lot cash into the company, it has not done very well for its new and returning shows. Viewer loyalty if fickle at best, and so they are taking a big risk in airing, say Prison Break and Bones (which will have a contiuning story line) for a few weeks only to see it vanish for 4 to 5 weeks. Most times, this type of scheduling conflict can doom a show. I think its good, but they are taking an awful chance that fans of Prison Break will be willing to wait for its return, hoping they don't involved with another show on the same day and time.

  • "Family Guy" was hilarious the first two seasons, but the third was a vast dropoff in quality. And now the new season is even worse. And yes, "American Dad" was NEVER funny.

I was just thinking about this show yesterday. I watched it because it was on before Firefly. The orginal concept was good, but once the mystery was solved it just became a generic show. I wonder why I was thinking about it? Oh yes, because FOX is still selling merchandise from it on their website, making money from a show they cancelled.

Ugh! They still have American dad?

    by loodabagel

That show is truly pathetic. I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt first time around. Anyone remember how bad the first Family Guy episode was? It's such a blatant Family Guy ripoff. All they did was make the kids skinnier and replace Stewie with an even less funny talking fish. That alien? Okay, that might be a little creative, but still... I might start watching American Dad if they got rid of that fucking fish. As for Family Guy, it's still pretty good, considering I never really liked Stewie. But I will have to admit that evil Stewie is funnier than effeminate Stewie. People might not like the new season as much because there's been so much focus on characters besides Peter and Stewie, Meg and Quagmire in particular. Or maybe it's been the increase in seriously horrible disgusting jokes (waiting game with the woder twins.) The simpsons, in my opinion has gotten better recently. The last few sesons have been horrible but I think it's regaining it's feet now. I honestly can't believe that Malcom in the Middle is still on the air. That show got old after the first 5 episodes. It's very formulaic. How formulaic? Allow me to show-Malcom is a brilliant child. Malcom has a horrible family. Malcom talks to the camera and is never funny. Oh well, Arrested Development is still the best comedy on TV. Amazing it almost got cancelled. Just goes to show that the american viewing public is a bunch of idiots who'd rather watch Malcom and American Dad.

AD is amazingly funny and Family Guy has sucked SO MUCH this year. I actually found "now we play the waiting game" damn hilarious, but the creator, whose name escapes me at the moment because I'm damn tired, is spreading himself too thin between FG and American Dad. Concentrate on just one and make it funny instead of giving us two crappy shows.

    by chickychow

Can't freakin wait, even if season 2 wasn't quite as great as season 1 (which is a genuine A+)... American Dad is okay, the last couple eps have been so-so, but still a HUGE improvement over the horrible post-Superbowl premiere. Stan is the only funny character tho, the alien and the fish are just annoying. They should get killed off. (and Family Guy has been pretty solid)
