Published at:  Jul 01, 2005 2:03:42 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here - having a bit of fun on JULY 9th at the Alamo Drafthouse... Really can't help it... You see - when Tim asked me, "Harry - Do you want to host a Dusk Til Dawn Horrorthon in July - in the sweet Air Conditioned Beer Serving Belly of the Original Alamo Drafthouse?" There was only one answer that made sense. YES, PLEASE!

You see folks, Tim and I and the other maniacal minions of the Alamo Drafthouse have put together an event of good old fashioned grindhouse horror - and... I might even be bringing a new horror treat... or two. Yes, Yes... it's a longtime till October, but in the heat of July - temperatures already reaching horrific heights... well, somebody needs to die! We need to see folks split open and pumping the ol karo and red dye #5 like the fountain each of us has the potential to be... Spurting, sputtering and spilling the crimson life essence on a silver screen. I hope you come to join us... Tickets go on sale at 5pm today at This Location!!!

Ain't it Cool News presents:

HORRORTHON!

TICKETS ($13) GO ON SALE FRIDAY JULY 1 AT 5PM!

In a tip of the cap to our sleazy drive-in heritage we are thrilled to present all the horror you can stand -- a marathon of blood and gore with monsters galore. We can't publicize the names of the films scheduled because even the titles themselves may be too frightening for some of you.

But we can tell you that Lion's Gate Films has been kind enough to give us an early screening of the already infamous Asian anthology THREE...EXTREMES, a shocking new powerhouse by Park Chan-Wook (Oldboy). And Takashi Miike (Gozu). And Fruit Chan (Made in Hong Kong). And Chan's contribution features striking cinematography by staple Wong Kar-Wai lenser Christopher Doyle. Has your cerebellum stopped twitching yet? It will run liquefied out your nostrils once you actually see this film!

You asked for it. Now here it is! If you love horror movies we've got the show for you. Not one, not two, but SIX horror shockers to thrill you, chill you, maybe even kill you. We've teamed up with Harry Knowles and www.aintitcoolnews.com to bring you a Dusk Til Dawn Horror Show to beat all others. And we'll do whatever we have to do to scare the hell out of you. This is the most eagerly anticipated show of the year for horror fans so buy your tickets in advance.

See You There, you cuddly cute thing you!

    Three Extremes Rocks

    by john-locke

Box, by takeshi Miike has one of the best frights brought on by the soundsystem you have ever heard. Dumplings by Fruit Chan will have you feeling sick when you find out thier main ingredient is. Parks film is unfortunately for me my least favourite, doesn't really make much sense and is B movie material however it looks brilliant and is severly twisted. Is this HORRORTHON better than Frightfest (Prince Charles Cinema off Leicester Square London) that we get in UK? that lasts for 4-5 days.

    by john-locke

http://premium.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/29/cruise.aliens.reut/ BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Hollywood actor Tom Cruise not only battles creatures from outer space in his latest film "War of the Worlds", he also believes aliens exist, he told a German newspaper on Wednesday.

Asked in an interview with the tabloid daily Bild if he believed in aliens, Cruise said: "Yes, of course. Are you really so arrogant as to believe we are alone in this universe?

"Millions of stars, and we're supposed to be the only living creatures? No, there are many things out there, we just don't know," Cruise, 42, said in the interview published in German.

    Whore films?

    by childe roland

You mean like the Amityville Whore and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas? What about X3? I hear that's going to be a whore film, too. And don't all of Lucas' prequels technically qualify? Oh... wait. You typed "HORROR" films. Never mind.

    Well, aliens could exist

    by chrth

But since going faster than the speed of light is either impossible or only under specific conditions, the likelihood of encountering them are non-existent ... unless they were planted by a previous alien race (cf. ST:TNG's the Chase).

Dino I might have a question to your answer

    by john-locke

At what age will the Evil Galactic Lord Xenu (disguised as a sexually confused Hollywood Actor) in his second coming after evolving from a clam infected with Thetans be when... he finally makes enough money from Box Office Returns to reveal his true identity to the world and the Scientology Church he had to infiltrate in order to obliterate because they were aware of his existence. Thusly starting the Second Dark Wave of Xenu across the omni verse and enslaving intelligent life forever? just a thought, a very stupid thought.

He's up in Minnesota at the Convergence Conference/Festival/Party. That animation is a tribute to people who freeze their asses off 8 months of the year. Or, it's just a cool tribute to those hosers, eh?!

I just got called by Harry on his cell. He told me that I don't know what I'm talking about. The animation above is in tribute to July 1st or Canada Day. He also mentioned that he's received a ton of emails from Canadians thanking him for being such a worldly being.
