NYC Licensing Show! First MONSTER HOUSE Images!!

Published at:  Jun 22, 2005 4:31:25 AM CDT

Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...

This is a film that Robert Zemeckis has evidently been heavily involved with, another performance-capture film like POLAR EXPRESS, and these may be the first images I’ve seen to indicate what sort of visual style to expect.

This one seems sort of innocuous:

But then when you move a little and look at the poster again, you see this:

Grooooooovy. Thanks, Pitdoc.

"Moriarty" out.

Those images look pretty amateurish to me. Still, it's obviously only a start.

    rip-off?

    by pbateman

am i the only one who thinks that every thing i've see on this film looks like a blatant rip-off of Clive Barkers "The Thief Of Always" which if i'm not mistaken thought was in some stage of production?

Now I'm curious to see if they're going to sue Sony...

Jon "Napoleon Dynamite" Heder is Skull

    by led gopher

He is a character in this movie. It should be interesting to see if, apart from doing voice-work and being type cast as Napoleon D., if Jon Heder's career will ever take off.

    Thief of Always?

    by the reef

Could this be a retitled animation of the Clive Barker "The Thief of Always" that did the start/stop fandango a while back, or it it a steal of the idea in the same way "The Island" is a steal of Michael Marshal Smith's "Spares". Keep these ideas for long enough and someone will change them just enough to get away with theft. At least someone is paying attention. MMS sould sue Bay 'till he dies. Out.

    Thief of Always for sure.

    by ivehadsex

I read the book and loved it...it also had nice illustrations inside it. Illustrations that looked exactly like these pictures here.

    thief of always rip-off!

    by ectocooler

I saw the trailer and I was disgusted that it was so similar to The Thief of Always. This is one of my favourite books and I can't believe someone is ripping it off! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to notice this, though.Outrageous!
