The American Film Institute on June 9 gave its 2005 Life Achievement Award to the guy who made “American Graffiti” and a few other movies.
Those who turned out for the event include Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Francis Ford Coppola, Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Duvall, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Jimmy Smits, William Shatner, two droids and a wookiee. Clips from George Lucas' films were presented along with commentary from Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Ron Howard, and Peter Jackson.
