too bad I don't, either

I'll tape it for you hepcats.

Can't find it anywhere on BT. Anyone know if these shows are being broadcast by anybody in the UK?
-
...is there a way to translate something from VHS to the computer? Because I could actually tape this sucker and make it available to interested parties.
-
You could use a TV card in your PC, or if you have a DVD Recorder under your TV you could transfer it to that, then rip it to the PC.
-
I don't think I'll be home to see it, though.

"A little more Ex-lax with your chocolate pudding. Mr. Smith."

Like I said a few weeks ago, great guests. Hope Kevin and Mark don't divert completely from the Star Wars TV show rumors and talk nothing but comics. Especially without Favs not there to ask that question.
-
To see people talk Hollywood shop with no camera's around. A bit more honest and realistic... I smell reality show. Just imagine sitting at a table with Spielberg, Scorsese, Lucas, Coppola and Altman. All of them talking film, and yapping about interesting shit... Can't help but think that'd be cool. These chats are funny little time wasters that usually hit the right tone. But I want them to just get honest and say: "Fuck I hated that film." etc. Since it seems a little PR-friendly most of the time. You can smell their agents sitting behind them, prodding whenever they talk a little TOO much. -- http://www.cafepress.com/thenewpulp

If you have a 'tivo' like device, you should be able to record the show and then copy it to your computer.. Those things are just computers with big hard drives that record everything in MPEG4 format. Of course, if the company that made your tivo thinks it can control the way you use your device after you paid money for it (and your government lets it get away with it), you can bet your fucking ass it will have a mechanism to prevent you from taking the shows your record (usually they can be easily hacked tho). dr_dreadlocks, what you describe is called documentary, not reality show. Here's an easy way to tell them apart. Documentary: going to Africa and filming a tiger while he hunts an bunny and eats it. Reality show: going to the zoo and throwing a bunch of bunnies inside the tiger's cage; the viewers can call and place bets on which bunny will survive the longest.

I forgot to include the part where we pit the director's against each other in a death match. Which people can obviously bet on. Sorry. -- http://www.cafepress.com/thenewpulp

JJ Abrams was on a comic themed Dinner For Five and was never asked about his Superman script. Or maybe he was and that's the point where he threw his napkin down on his eggs flourentine and declared 'I'll say good day to you then sir!' Kevin Smith: 'But-' JJ: 'I said good day!' so they had to edit it out.
-
You gotta love Stan Lee and his whole working man's approach to the Marvel legend story. Mark Hamill seemed like a real guy too.
-
Jason Lee is a freakin' Scientologist? WTF!?!
-
There was a moment in Dogma where Azrael or whoever his name is just goes on a rant about hell and humans, and apparently it was so close to 'scripture', and that's what got Jason Lee to be a xemun

I don't see why Altman would talk with Scorsese, Spielberg, etc. He's not part of that clique. Ya know.... Coppola, Spielberg, Scorsese, Lucas, DePalma, etc. From what I've heard about him as a person, Altman would just be a jerk. Great filmmaker tho. Has RObert Evans ever been on an episode of "Five"? Man, thatd be great.
-
.... to a Great show. I did not realize that I had this channel on my DirecTV until now. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough! I could watch these talking heads for hours, and it would have been much more enjoyable than most of the Movies and TV Shows that "Hollywood" puts out! And the Star Wars TV Show was touched on a bit, with Kevin and Mark commenting on the "internet rumors" that have them both involved somehow. Funny thing, though, is that I wasn't aware of any rumors about either of them in connection with this. It was still great, though - A Real Geek Fest!! To all those that missed it, or don't have IFC available to them - So Sad, Too Bad - For You!!!!
-
Kinda like BBC's chain reaction radio show. Pick a new host every week and let him pick his dinner guests.
-
Ahh, he's on to us! I thought it was great when Kevin said he hopes Lucas hears the rumors enough and asks him to do it. I do wish this show was at least an hour long, it's so good that it's over before you know it. Maybe I should record a bunch of episodes and have them on during the work week to speed things up! I like how Mr. Hamill said helikes ice cream, but not three times a day. But about that Star Wars TV show, make it happen George

Kevin Smith is the biggest no-talent asshole making movies today. Why this guy gets work after he has proven himself to be such an untalented writer/director is beyond me. I can only guess that is because he somehow manages to sell DVDs and because he spends 10 hours a day with his fans. You can blame the advent of DVDs and the creation of that whole new market for bad movies. He really would not be allowed to make more movies based on his box office take alone. No one goes to see his crap in the theaters, but for some reason when his titles come out on the DVD market all of his fans have their parents buy a copy plus the Special Edition DVD that comes out after that. I guess I can't blame the guy, making movies has to be more fun than being a clerk - which is really the only job he is equiped to perform. I mean, you don't get angry at lottery winners do you?
-
You may be right that the DVD market has made Kevin Smith. But you also glossed over something you mentioned: fans. He has a huge fanbase and people in the business seem to generally like him as well, because he's still an everyman who almost by luck just happened to make it big and he knows it. And I'm sorry, but while he's had more than his share of misfires, Chasing Amy makes up for all of it and then some. See that film and tell me he's untalented.
-
If you didn't think that movie was funny, what the hell kind of comedy do you like? For some reason my DVR didn't record this. I smell conspiracy.

That story Abrams told about Cruise becoming his buddy then getting him to direct Mission Imposable was a little creepy. Sounds like Cruise is quite the control freek. Also Smith and Abrams could have got into a interesting discussion on Superman. Smith also wrote a script around the time when Tim Burton was going to direct and Nick Cage was going to play Superman. Burton and Cage would have done to Superman what Schumacher did to Batman. Smith's Superman script sounded pretty cheesy. It had the death of Superman in it and Brainiac. He needs to stick to what he does best. He is one of the most original and inovative comedy filmakers.
-
I did not know that shit came in gold. That movie is easily the worst one he has made - and that is saying a lot. And as far as those comics he was suppoed to write about forever ago, well the man doesn't know how to say no and he is also very lazy. i wouldn't expect to see any of those projects he talks about anytime soon. Don't look for Green Hornet to be in the theaters, he is too busy making more jay and silent bob movies, look for jay and silent go to space and jay and silent bob join the army in the coming years.

the George Lucas tribute is also up. Could anyone put these events on the BT. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Give us poor Europeans a break!!!
