Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some news from Hollywood Reporter on James Wan and Leigh Whannell's follow-up to SAW, a film that I personally really dug. It's not perfect, but damn if it doesn't work as a whole. While I love the poster for SAW 2, I'm more curious to see SILENCE, the true follow-up to SAW. I'm not familiar at all with the two actors cast, but I'm sold on the creative talent behind the camera. This is the Sophomore effort... will it be a slump or a success?
Amber Valletta and Ryan Kwanten are set to star in "Silence," a horror film being directed by James Wan for Universal Pictures. Greg Hoffman, Mark Burg and Oren Koules of Evolution Entertainment will produce via their genre arm Twisted Pictures. Kwanten will play a man who returns to his hometown in order to unearth clues to his wife's murder. Valletta plays his father's trophy wife, who is more sinister than she appears. The screenplay is by Wan and Leigh Whannell, the team behind horror hit "Saw," which grossed more than $55 million at the domestic boxoffice. That film also was produced by Evolution Entertainment.
