    Arrested on Mondays

    by cornstalkwalker

Well, looking at the Monday timeslot, I don't think its that bad. AD will be going against Wife Swap(ABC), the Bachelor 8(ABC2006), King of Queens(CBS), Fathom(NBC), 7th Heaven(WB). I assume King of Queens and 7th Heaven get ok ratings considering those shows have been on for awhile. Fathom is an unknown. Wife Swap and the Bachelor both might beat up on AD, but I see it as a better slot than Sundays simply because there is so much on. People can watch AD, then switch over to MNF.

    by chorleyfm

Wife Swap, Fathom, King of Queens, 7th Heaven. If they promote this it could easily do well. That Head Case show which looked ok as it had Adam Goldberg in it is DOA. Boreanez's show is up against nothing good bar GG, could be a hit, especially as it is before House. Also no TWW/Arrested crossover, many people will be happy with that (I would be if I lived in the uS, but I download the show anyway).

Arrested on Mondays is sweet. Especially at 8 when there's NOTHING for me to watch. "Bones" might be good as long as it doesn't get too procedural. "Head Cases" sounds A LOT like Boston Legal or maybe like a generic Ally Mcbeal. The cast is great though so who knows? Not to sure about the rest. Guess I'll find out come Fall.

I don't know why - most successful ideas are flogged until long after they've stopped breathing - but I am grateful. It can't just be down to the failure of The Contender, can it?

I'm pretty sure it would have picked up viewership. also what will 'Reunion' do after 20 eps. start over? michael rapaport is good on tv but much better in movies.

Fox sucks. I hate them with a passion!

    by snaieke

Every year they come out with great looking shows with great casts and every year they end up cancelling them because they don't immediatly have the ratings they want, they hardly let the shows develop into another season where people might give it a chance. Perhaps they're ratings suck because people have given up on them actually keeping a new show. I DVR all the shows until half way though the season to ensure my hopes aren't destroy'd so far House was the only keeper last year. This year they actually have several shows I think would be great but I won't watch them until a few weeks after the ratings because I'm tired of their red button cancellation habit.... bastiches. Prediction, Prison Break is first to be cancelled. Bones second.. and where the hell is the Inside on their fall schedule? they don't have a lot of confidence in it succeeding over the summer?

    Reply to Talkback

  • The show is set in the present but the characters are developed mostly through flashbacks. We see where they started out and how they ended up where they are today.

Imagine if Bones was preceded by Bernie Mac and followed by the cancelled Quintuplets - you would have "Bernie Mac" "Bones" "Quintuplets". And in syndication you could have a lineup that read "Mr. Ed" "Bones" "The Golden Girls".

    by dagreatgoldwolf

It had a good run and I think it was one of the more complex (though seemingly simplistic) family sitcoms around. Now it's been moved to the Suicide Slot. Oh well...the oldest brother on that shows fucks the redhead from the 70's show so life can't be all that bad for the Malcolm cast.

Re: Arrested Development only slated for the fall

    by dijonase24

Could this have to do with FOX's slightly tweaked schedule? We know that they're running 24 uninterrupted from Jan-May this season. Next season they appear to be doing the same with House (and on that note, what a fan-fucking-tastic Monday night that'll be). Are they going to start doing the same thing in the fall? Could they start their fall shows a bit earlier, or have slightly shorter runs, so that they run uninterrupted as well? It'd suck to lose episodes of Arrested again next season, but if it does happen I can respect what FOX is doing schedule-wise. As an overall strategy I think it makes sense (if what I'm saying is actually right...I may be way off) and could potentially result in more quality programming overall.

    Re: House

    by hauptman

House is running from Sept through May, it just switches timeslots from Tuesdays at 9 to Mondays at 8. Prison Break, the only new show that I think I might be interested in, is also only on the fall schedule. I don't know.... but Sept-Dec is not a long enough span for 22 or 24 new episodes, unlike Jan-May.
