Alyson Hannigan To Star In CBS Series This Fall!!

Published at:  May 17, 2005 5:39:02 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

All reports indicate that Alyson Hannigan’s CBS romantic comedy, “How I Met Your Mother,” has received a series order, and could be on the air as early as autumn.

This is Hannigan’s first regular TV role since “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” ceased production.

Her co-star in the flashback-happy skein is TV’s Doogie, Neil Patrick Harris. It was created by former “Late Show With David Letterman” writers Carter Bays & Craig Thomas.

Other pilots CBS has taken to series include the hourlongs "American Crime," "Quantico,” "The Unit," "Threshold," and “The Ghost Whisperer." Greenlit sitcoms include "Everything I Know About Men" and "Flesh and Blood."

Expect a full CBS fall schedule to emerge as the network edges closer to its Wednesday "upfront" presentation.

Not sure If I'm feeling the premise, but given that Aly's in it I'm going to give it a chance. Love her.

The Unit-Shaun Ryan and David Mamet, with Dennis Haysbert

    by chorleyfm

If this isn't genius I will be seriously dissapointed. Amy Acker, Christian Kane, Alysson Hannigan, David Boreanez and Nicholas Brendon have all had their shows picked up, hoory for Whedon's players (only the firefly cast failed Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk and Adam Baldwin all had their pilots passed on).

    An hourlong romantic comedy?

    by jedistryker

Sorry, I don't see that flying. And what the hell is 'The Ghost Whisperer'? Is that supposed to be a joke, or is it really CBS' answer to Medium? If it isn't a joke, then they need to change that shitty title.

    Alyson is a sweetheart

We interviewed her for the I LOVE series for VH1. She's gotta be one of the sweetest, nicest people we've ever worked with.

The Unit does seem like genius, but Baldwin's show got picked up

    by lordenigma

You know, the INSIDE, with the greates MC ever; MC KEYS! FOX has the whole "no such thing as a FALL SEASON" thing go. So if the Inside becomes a hit. Baldwin might be the only one of the Firefly cast to get a show picked up. Of course, mind the you, the whole point of Serenity is to get Mal back in the sky--via TV airwaves. And Slone13, thanks for working for a network that gives Michael Ian Black and Hal Sparks something to do on their off time. If only VH1 would make a show with Hal Sparks based off of his martial arts ability. That would kick Surreal Life's ass! Also, the Unit will rule, and they best not cancel Joan of Arcadia. Ryan Hunter needs to get his ass kicked by a curvy teenager and the power of Grace!

Love her madly, but I'd rather she made movies with names like "

    by frankdrebin

Also, Harris needs a series where he's a neo-facist psychic with a giant forehead, or the white comic-relief sidekick to a black undercover p.i.

  • And a geek's dream since she fell for a hump like Zander... They really done her wrong with her throwaway death in the finale, man. (she should've gotten eaten alive by bunnies.)

    by childe roland

...in a series? What's it called? Will they be letting him do some comedy for a change (the guy can do more than brood, believe it or not).

    This is BS

    by rylrci

Alyson rocked my world on Veronica Mars and if they developed Trina she would make a bomb-ass recurring character. Sorry, I just don't see a CBS comedy (where the viewers use the commercials to chug their prune juice) and Alyson meshing.
