    Absolutely phenomenal news

    by dijonase24

I think that it was a godsend having Peter Ligouri take the reins at FOX. The guy worked a miracle over at F/X, and judging by their schedule he obviously knows quality when he sees it. I'll be distrustful of anything I see until FOX actually announces a fall schedule, but I can't imagine this being fraudulent news. It's from a good source and apparently it came directly from Jason Bateman, albeit in a cryptic manner. Thank God that the Bluths appear to be staying around for a while longer.

...but if he's been in any way instrumental in bringing Arrested Development back then it was more than worth bringing him over to FOX. Who knows, he may be able to help filter out some of the reality crap and give ABC a run for its money in the hourlong drama department, which they seem to be owning lately.

It didn't exactly inspire the writers to do their best work. Fox just wanted 4 seasons of episodes for syndication, and the heck with quality. (I'm a pessimist. I see the worst in every good thing.)

The first season was funny as hell. Bought the dvd and everything (for 15 bucks. pride.) Here's hoping that the whiff of suck that I caught hanging around the second season was not the beginning of a Boston-Publicesque fall from goodness. Cancellation-panic would be a much more soothing explanation for what went on- then with this new order for episodes they would now be able to relax with the pacing of the show again.

Some people like TV sitcoms that moves like syrup going uphill. They appreciate laugh tracks or primed live studios to trigger their laughs. They like the "actor" to pause while the audience thunderously applauds their entrance. Is that so wrong? Should they be ashamed they don't get references to past episodes (save for a select few like Seinfeld and Curb)? Do you want themave to look away in horror when the cute kid mugs for the camera? Shouldn't they be offended George Michael is hiding euro porn in his room - incestuous porn at that? no normal american sitcom would allow such perversity. Taking pictures of testicles. Gasp...

Guess that's why I hate normal sitcoms.

This is one of those shows that you really have to just sit and watch every episode. There's so many little jokes and throw away lines that come back later and then there are the in your face jokes that are just about the funniest things on TV (right after America's Funniest Home Videos when they show someone hit in the nads and Cops).

  • First it was pre-empted by that so-called 'Special Report' on Paula Abdul's alleged American Idol sex scandal, and then last week it just wasn't on. I am worried that it is slipping off the bubble into oblivion, which would be a shame because it really is a fun show.
