Zaphod Beeblebrox for President! This music video rules!!

Published at:  Apr 29, 2005 5:04:23 AM CDT

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here... so I know this has been floating around, but goddamnit... I had to write something about it, not only because it's so damn cool, but we don't often get to celebrate Douglas Adams on the big screen day. This song is so fucking catchy, it's not funny.... well, it is funny, but you know what I mean. And Sam Rockwell is a genius... No more talking, check this out!

"In no way is he stupid! In no way is his brain impaired! It's just not true! He's smarter than you... and he's better looking, too!"

Good God - I think this film is going to be quite good

    by ian216a

For anyone out there who was afraid that the Hitchhikers film wouldn't be relevant today, watch this video and change the words "Zaphod Beeblebrox" to "Tony Blair" (or "Tony Blair-air-air" to make it fit). That'll sober you up for sure.
I'm really looking forward to this now. I was very happy to see Martin Freeman and Sam Rockwell cast in it. And as for Hammer and Tongs, I still get all warm and fuzzy everytime I see the video for Coffee and TV. If they can make me feel sympathetic to a milk carton, I'm sure that they can do the same for Mos Def.
As a childhood fan of Douglas Adams, and a grown up fan of The Divine Comedy, that video makes a lot of sense to me. :)

This will probably have nothing to do with the movie

    Except that it's fucking awesome!

    Sam Rockwell rocks

    by brock samson

Well, not always, but he's got his smarm turned all the way up here, so I think his Zaphod will rule. The video was clever enough, not a political satire really, just a jokey kinda thing. Not brilliant, but funny. I'm seeing this tonight. Crossing my fingers, hoping for the best.

    "...and he's better looking, too!"

    by oberon

I think Sam Rockwell may turn out to be perfect for this role. But why does this video feel like a re-elect campaign commercial for a Southwark by-election ca. 1979?

What gives? Only 1/2 way will DL.

    by led gopher

PokeAlex isn't the only one with this issue. I can only get the video to play the 1st half and then the DL stops.
Maybe there's too much traffic or maybe we need a mirrored source.

    Can someone mirror this?

    by wingnut_233

I've been trying to download this for the last couple hours, and as some others have mentioned, the most we can download is around 50%. Or perhaps my computer is simply unworthy to behold the majesty of Zaphod Beeblebrox.

    Zaphod Beeblebrox rocks!!!

    by spooky howell

All he needs is a microphone on that mountain top. It's like Steven Tyler doing "Sound of Music".
I loved it, pure goofy ass Zaphod.
Finaly seeing him come to life on the silver screen will be a joy!

    Wasn't funny at all

    by 2leggedfreak

Sorry but that kind of thing has been done a million times before. It might have been funny-ish for 20 seconds and I hope to God the film is better paced.

    This Video has Convinced Me.

    by zaphod's gurl

Oh yes, come 2008, I will be voting for Zaphod as Prtesident. To all you dissing it, the reason why it's funy is because it's approach is like tptally serious which makes it 100 times more hilarious.
