This one is for all the geeks out there: DEBIL DEAD... claymation Ash vs. Connor MacLeod!

Published at: April 25, 2005, 9 p.m. CST

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with something to get them good ol' geek juices flowin'. Being a child of the '80s and having grown up with the dancing California Raisens and Pee-Wee's Playhouse, this claymation short film featuring a fictional fight between The Highlander and The King himself really hit a chord with me. I hope this makes you smile as well! Enjoy!

Hello,

Are you interested by Evil Dead versus Highlander ?

Ash versus Connor MacLeod, Bruce Campbell versus Christophe Lambert featuring Bruce Willis, Leatherface et Wesley Snipes, can you believe in that ?

A French madman (Pierre Fernandez) directed this short animated film with big love and joy... The title is "Debil Dead" (it is a French joke which means Dumb Dead in English), it is in English spoken.

In my opinion, it is very better than Batman : dead end, Grayson, and Co.

You can see it here in Quicktime :

3 minutes of pure joy !

pretty cool, but connor doesnt belong in the same sentence as ash.

Dude. You got that totally backwards. Much as I like Mr. Boomstick, there can be only one. Bruce Campbell >> Christopher Lambert, but MacLeod > Ash. Not by very much, but MacLeod wins nonetheless.

    Nice

    by plissken77

That was fucking awesome. We need more imaginative minds like that to give us cool crossover shit.

    MisterCynic is right

    by junoshalaman

Highlander Blows. The only thing good about that series were the Connery moments in the first one. Ash, though, just awesome.

  • April 25, 2005, 9:41 p.m. CST

You didn't just go where I think you just went PianoMonkey?

    by Drunken Fugitive

Connor might have ruled in one Highlander movie but Ash stomps Connor a new one every day of the week and twice on sundays, nuff said!

  • April 25, 2005, 10:21 p.m. CST

That was Christopher Lambert's best movie since... well... ever.

The best thing about Highlander was Clancy Brown

    by John-Locke

Connery was second and the rest was forgetable. Ash Rules no contest...

  • April 25, 2005, 11:31 p.m. CST

    this is groovy, but...

    by BurlIvesLeftNut

There is no way that Ash would go down like a bitch.

  • April 25, 2005, 11:50 p.m. CST

    Thank God for this!

    by Henry Fool

In an absurd way I must stop and be thankful for the time I live in. Why? Because we live in an age where more people are making movies than ever. The animation on this thing isn't very good but that doesn't matter. The people who did this clearly loved what they were doing. And because of the Internet people can get their stuff out there. In an age where the corporate owned studio system is more concerned with product placement than story telling, it's good to know that there is a community of filmmakers using this medium to do... well, whatever the Hell they want. I mean these guys just wanted to see what would happen if Ash and Connor had a fight. No deep meaning. No profound commentary on society. And about Locke's comment, Clancy Brown has a habit of stealing the show in just about everything he does. He da man.

    whatever...

    by kintar0

Batman: Dead End and Grayson were way better than this. And Evil Dead 2 is my pelicula numero uno.

  • April 26, 2005, 2:11 a.m. CST

    Duncan > Connor

    by Hamtaro_Hentai

And 'Highlander: The Series' > Buffy. Sorry, but it's true.

  • April 26, 2005, 2:44 a.m. CST

    Meh

    by Durendal

I wasn't that impressed. They could have at least tried making Ash sound like Ash instead of giving him that high voice. Nice bit at the end, though.

  • April 26, 2005, 3:40 a.m. CST

For what it is, not too bad, nice job.

    by Bargin Hunter in 3D

Although I'm not all that impressed with any of the Evil Dead films (I enjoy the comentaries of each better), or the Highlander series or films this was lots of fun. I wish I had the tallent and patience to do something like that, glad there are creative folks out there how care enough to out something like that together. It's only a few minutes long but it succeede it entertaining us all, too bad Hollywoodland finds that so difficult to pull off these days.

Endgame wasn't bad if you liked the tv series and Clancy Brown s

    by Big Bad Clone

that is, if they wanted to do Sabretooth like the comic books instead of just a wrestler. Just imagine that voice taunting Wolverine while they get in a down and dirty fight.

  • April 26, 2005, 12:03 p.m. CST

    Yeah.... I forgot Clancy Brown

    by junoshalaman

My shame. Only saw Highlander once. But after seeing a bunch of Highlander: Endgame on cable, I had no desire to revisit the original. The man does steal everything he is in. Best thing about Shawshank, honest to go it's true. Man can even steal cartoons with just his voice. Best Lex Luthor ever.

  • April 26, 2005, 12:03 p.m. CST

    And....

    by junoshalaman

Clancy Brown would have been a better choice for Lex Luthor than Kevin Spacey in Superman Returns.

Musical Tribute to Ash... the greatest movie hero since Indiana

    by FingerBros

Nice short! Keep up the great work! For those that might be interested, check out the following site to listen to an original musical tribute to Ash. www.fingerbros.com Scroll down to the "Turtleheads & Prariedogs" section and click on "Ashes to Ashes." Lots of other great free music there, too. Geeks might also enjoy my tribute to Disney's Haunted Mansion (The ride - not the Eddie Murphy Cr_pfest). Hope you enjoy!

  • April 26, 2005, 11:17 p.m. CST

    That was not funny

    by Sharingon!

Seriously, what was that? That was on par with the humor of a Jordan's furniture commercial.

  • April 29, 2005, 12:39 a.m. CST

And 'Highlander: The Series' > Buffy. Sorry, but it's true.

    by Key_Card

I'm soryy, but huh? Highlander The Series had it's moments, and was enjoyable for what it was. Which was a monster of the week show that rarely deviated from that format. For anyone that hasn't watched it before here is a synopsis of 90% of the episodes. Immortal comes to town. Cut in flashback from a time when Duncan previously met said immortal. Cue fight to the death. Run credits. Besides, what is the point of comparing the two shows anyways. Apples and oranges.

That was great, although ash clearly should have been the victor. foolish gauls!
