Vinnie Jones seems confirmed to be angling at Chuck in X3!
Hey folks, Harry here... Well, confirmed is a loose word here... this isn't Variety or Hollywood Reporter confirmation, it's THE SUN - which in turn seems to be feeding SKY NEWS and the BBC in the Uk - as I've received reports this morning that both of them have been passing on THE SUN's story - which in turn - could very well have been feeding off that rumor-mongering trash heap that Quint was running last week. Oh wait, that's us! Well then, it must be true! From the look of THE SUN's report, they're either making up additional facts or got someone in Matthew Vaughn's camp or Vinnie Jones' camp to squeak. As they're making claims about Vinnie playing a character 7 ft tall and 65 stones in weight... whatever the fuck that means. As for Vinnie being the right guy for the role? Well - personally I can imagine him raging out and slamming ol Steel-skinned lad into the side of a building 30 or 40 time while smiling maniacally. Can't you?
Harry, not sure if you have this or not.
Reported In "The Sun" the main UK tabloid paper this morning Monday
April 18th.
"Vinnie's X-rated Film Role"
"Tough guy Vinnie Jones is set to play a super-powered villain in X-men

The ex-footballer will play Hulk-style baddie Juggernaut in the movie.
Vinnie, 40, will wear a four-stone latex suit to boost his muscles for
the role - Juggernaut is 7ft tall and weighs 65st.
He will star along side Sir Ian McKellen, Rebecca Romijn, Halle Berry
and Hugh jackman.
Filming starts later this year. A source said: "Vinnie thinks it's a
great laugh and can't wait to get into the suit."

What does a "stone" equal in pounds?

That is all. First?

I wonder how many rocks he ways?

I wonder if he'll be playing xavier's brother and they'll give him an expanded role. The X-Men movies are going to get overloaded if they throw in too many characters. X2 just had nightcrawler, a brief glimpse of Colossus, and it majorly scaled back on super-villains. This one has angel, gambit, beast and juggernaut, and hopefully some kick ass sentinels and dark phoenix. Halle Berry would be lucky to get a line in. I hope this movie concludes the x-men saga cause I think there'll be too much ground to cover if they add more characters. Its a shame that they don't give any REAL time to Cyclops the leader of the team. I always thought Tim Daly would've been an awesome Cyclops. He's more of an appropriate age to Famke and Hugh and he can play the clean-cut leader type ... Marsden always seemed too young and inneffectual. I can't believe he got his ass kicked like he did by the asian chick in X2 so quickly. Cyclops is supposed to be the BEST x-man.

I think he'll be pretty good, only time will tell if its true though, the sun isnt exactly known for its stellar reporting. -

Actually, you'd probably get more shit ON you if you tried wiping your ass with it. WHY THE FUCK is Harry running a story from The Sun for fucks sake!?? And by the way, the idea of Vinnie Jones in an X-Men flick STILL makes my ass itch... bad fucking move.

It always bugs me as strange that you yanks use the imperial system, but not all of it!
FYI sixteen ounces = one pound
fourteen pounds = one stone
So a 161lb person weighs in at 11 1/2 st. (doesn't seem as much when you put it like that!)

The Sun is indeed an excremental piece of publishing. I haven't bought it since they they ran a front page headline stating that a gorilla in an american zoo tried to eat a baby. This turned out to be mostly hysterics and hyperbole. The paper can often be found on the floor of public toilets, with puddles of urine cringing away from its edges. I hate it.
-
I think we can believe this one. The Sun always has "exclusive" Fox-related movie plugs masquerading as news. Sickening. Still, it's got tits in it.
-
Ever noticed that the models have a generic set of names? Zoe, linda, and about 1,250 variations on "Nicola" eg Nikkala, Nikla, Nicalla. Whether this is due to them simply not knowing how to spell their names or a genuine need to stand out, i can't tell. Just waiting on Knicola, and that'll be that.

Nice to see someone around here still has some wit.
-
That is 100% indisputable science fact.
-
it's just a waste of time. they are fun to read, but they are not to be taken seriously, especially when it comes to entertainment news. the only reason they make stuff up is to sell papers and generate gossip that this site, like many others, end up reporting, and this gives free publicity to the papers. so its a win-win situation for the tabloids, and we all end up confused and none the wiser.

Anyone who has seen Snatch can see how Jones will bring a lot to the character. He is genuinely menacing and very funny as well. I just wonder how they are shoehorning Juggs into the Dark Phoenix storyline...
-
I can see this happening, jones plays a kick ass psycho villain who stands around the place growling at the rest of the cast(just as in real life).with matthew vaughn in the directors chair, will there be any scrotum grabbing for vinnie.
-
"No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is."
-
Jugggernaut is a freakin' mountain. He's pretty much the same size (if not bigger)than the Hulk. They've got to use CGI to make him bigger or he wouldn't really do the character justice. I personally like the choice of Vinnie Jones. He's got the attitude and the accent to make it more believable he's Chuck's step-brother.
Did the Sun mention anything about where Batboy is? He gets around.... -
Juggy is gigantic. I remember him sitting on an airliner next to Black Tom Cassidy, both of them in civilian clothes, and he dwarfed everyone. They need to use forced perspective just like LOTR, and maybe some CG. Also, I would love to see Kiefer Sutherland as Warren Worthington III. Although he might be a little short, I always thought he would make a wicked Angel.

Seriously._________P.S. I never wrote first, THe power word is FRIST!
-
Kiefer is a good choice, but isn't he a little old now? During his Young Guns days he'd have been perfect. If they'd give Paul Walker some acting lessons, he'd fit the bill. Oh yeah, I totally agree on the effects usage to make Juggy convincing. He MUST be huge.

They WON'T use forced perspective or CG to make Juggernaut any bigger. Fuck, didn't we already go through all this with the Thing? And Vinnie Jones? Still a cunt.
-
For future reference, when a tabloid like The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Star etc provides quotes from an unnamed insider/source/expert/friend, that means its made up. Its accepted writing within that community as sort of an injoke thing. And yeah they based the story on the AICN rumour.
-
man o man, I had no idea this was the same guy that wrote that same shit. To quote the Ferris Bueller movie;"I weep for the future...."
-
Dumbass Brits, no wonder we kicked their asses 200 years ago. And before any English people protest my post, let me remind you that British people are known for eating "spotted dick", and "toad in the hole". WTF? What's next? "Crap in a hat"? LOL
-
When you're right, you're right
-
I might have missed that bit of news I suppose.
-
Yes.... we ALL eat Spotted Dick and Toad In The Hole every day while we sit around in our Bowler hats waiting to meet the Queen. Have you been watching repeats of The Good Life on BBC America? To quote, if I may..."reactionary stereotypes confirming the myth that everyone in Britain is a lovable, middle-class eccentric and I hate them!" Oh, and By the using the phrase "Dumbass Brits" I assume you're talking about Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland there? Not just the English? Or didnt you know that? I only mention it coz you didnt. You dumb cunt-sprouting.
-
We'll all be lucky is she doesn't. And Bullet-Tooth Tony is fucking badass.
-
How does a guy who writes such shitty scripts keep getting work? Let's be honest, his other screenplays became dog ass lame films. I weep for the future of the X-Men, and have since Singer ran away to a lame Superman script, which wasn't written by this hack.
-
Touche', Mr. Chuff. Touched a nerve with the "beat your asses 200 years ago" comment, eh? Anyway, yeah, you're right, I WAS just perpetuating a stereotype, so sue me.

Yet these Brits seem to think so. Hope they file down Nightcrawler's teeth this time. Way too many sharp ones in his mouth in X2. Not right.

He is a one-note performer who basically does variations on his football persona - a completely violent WANKER. I cannot imagine Vinnie and Patrick Stewart sharing any deep and meaningful dialogue scenes in this one...

I've heard this mentioned a few times, and it frankly turns my stomache. Whoever suggested it must be insane. Gambit needs to be suave and charasmatic, not just from Europe. I can kinda see VJ as Juggy, but definatly NOT Gambit! I think they need an unknown, because there's no one that I know that's suited well for that role. Has anyone heard anything about Gambit's casting?

50 cent.
You heard it here first. -
He is an intense actor...he might work..well see. How about Sentinels?
