    by denki

I was prepared for some ass kickin', but for some reason the trailer was playing really slow for me. Like it was in slow motion. Again. Just like all the other 'ass kicking' trailers out there at the moment.

Didn't do much ass kickin' from here.

'like it was in slow motion'?

    by fokke

It was in slow motion! And therefore it's not a cool trailer. It's got this whole 'been there seen that' thing going on. Please, to all trailerdirectors out there, No More Slow Motion in Trailers! Thank you very much in advance.

So, his superpower is to move in slow-motion?

    by cymbol

He certainly has the physical talent to become a martial artist with his own name. Very few martial artist become "A-List" action stars. However, they need to stop having everything he does in slow mo! Sheeeeesh!! What if we saw every leap and jump Jackie Chan did in slow mo. It would get damn boring. We can still understand the complexity of the most movements without being beaten over the head with it. Martial Arts + Slow Mo = Use Sparingly!!

I agree about the trailer being lacking because of too much slow

    by rogue_leader

I am dying to see this. Ong Bak was the best thing to happen to Martial Arts films in years. If Tona Jaa can repeat even a fraction of that in this movie then I am sold. By the looks of things this movie may be even more vrtual then the last. IS this possible?

Slo-mo shots will be nothing compared to the annoying 3-7 multi-

    by kampbell-kid

Tony Jaa without a doubt has amazing skill... but that constant barrage of multi-angle shots of each stunt totally took me away from fully enjoying Ong Bak every time. Ong Bak only served one badass purpose, showing off to wire-fu film makers that this is how real movie stunts are done. In honesty, Ong Bak with it's forgettable vintage Van Damne Bloodsport plot... made me really feel like I was watching TONY JAA'S STUNTMAN REEL RESUME. No doubt with the same production co and what seems similar crew... I really have a feeling this new film will be another slo-mo multi-angle shot stuntman reel again. Too bad it forgot to highlight him as a stunt double for Robin Shou in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. lol

    by nerdboy1423

I love Tony Jaa and Ong bak to death, but this trailer is crappily thrown together bunch of slow-mo scenes. I want to see stuff from the movie, not just a hit at 300 frames a second

This trailer isnt that good, why is the whole thing in slow motion, and most of the cuts are before the actual impact of the hits. Oh well, I know this movie will be awesome nonetheless.

Everyone knows the word you're trying to say is "IRREGARDLESS". "Regardless" is not even a word! Sheesh. Why do people gotta be so illegitimate!?! Dumass! ;-)

    Slo Mo

    by rock icon

There has been way too much use of slow motion. It's more impressive at normal speed or slightly sped up anyway. Slo mo should be used as a (occasional)dramatic effect, not the main device.

    Goon

    by bender-wiggins

Eraser_X, irreguadless is not a word. It beame a word for a while because through misuse but ''reguardless' and 'irrespective' are words, which, together through bastardisation brought 'irreguardless' into vernacular, but not true language.

    You tool.

    Bender, are you irrespecting me?

    by eraser_x

I think you are joking when you say "irreguardless" is vernacular because I have read all of Vern's reviews and I have never heard him write irreguardless or even irreguadless. If I am a tool, I must be a sharper tool than you. Maybe I would be a chisel, and you would be a piece of chewed gum that is used to temporarily plug a seam. Ha ha, I slay me. If you make me reply again, I will have to write something even dumber! ;-)

    TOM YUM GOONG

    by nantra

is actually thai spicy and sour soup with prawns and lemon grass. i assume the sequel would be called "TOM YUM KAI" for the same soup with chicken (thai people aren't very keen on beef)

    tom yum goong the name

    by drunkentiger

There was actually a deliberate plan when it comes to the name for this movie. As I understand it, the idea is that Tom Yum Goong is one of the most well-known Thai dishes in the world. Aside: Yes it uses lemon grass as one of its main ingredient and comes in either clear and thick soup base. The word Goong itself means shrimp while Tom Yum describes for how-to prepare the soup.

The ever growing popularity of Thai cuisine around the world means that a good portion of the target audience will recognize the name right away whether they be in Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, England, or the U.S. Tom Yum Goong (along with Thai food in general) is also known for its good strong flavor highlight by its spicy taste...also referring to the intention by the director to make this movie even hotter than Ong Bak.
