AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE: The Motion Picture''

Published at:  Mar 05, 2005 7:53:45 PM CST

I am – Hercules!!

I love the Museum of Television and Radio’ William S. Paley Festival!

Pinay Panda reports:

I do not know if this merits a blip on your radar or not but we
attended the
MTR's event for Adult Swim last night. Seth Green talked about some
upcoming Family Guy episodes (one with Drew Barrymore as his teacher
who
tries to hire Chris to kill her husband) ... but we also learned some
Aqua
Teen Hunger Force news.

They have completed a movie and it is unknown at this time if it will
go
straight to DVD or if there is enough interest for a theatrical
release.
This news comes straight from the horse's mouth of Matthew Maiellaro
(writer/co-creator/co-producer of ATHF) and verified by Dave Willis
(writer/co-creator/co-producer of ATHF).

An amusing time was had by all and Seth Green up close - rather
handsome in
a pocket-sized geeky kinda way! Nice enough to grab a photo with me
and
autograph my programme - what a guy! We did ask him if the BTVS
cartoon
ever got off the ground, would he do the voice of Oz? His reply?
"Sure. I
mean, never say never, right?"

Anyway ... thought I would share (if by chance this gets used, just
call me
Pinay Panda)

I miss Oz!

This is fucking cool news, this has made my day, a ATHF movie, awesome!!! Aqua teen and Home movies are two of the funniest tv shows of our generation. Adult swim is redefining and bringing life to television comedy and we should all be thankful.

    Hard to take

    by woemcats

ATHF is very funny, but I don't think I could take 80-90 minutes of it in one sitting. Usually the 11-minute segments feel padded, with lots of repeated jokes.

While Aqua Teen Hunger Force is superb, ...

    by diskatopia

...I don't think it would gross that well yet at the cinestadiumplexarama, being free currently on the boobtube and all. Well, it would be GROSS, for sure, but the B.O. dineros might be lacking. It is not time yet. Give it 4-7 years. The current familiar dosage, being 15 or so minutes, may be hard to stretch to blackholedraw "ticket$ required" feature length, considering the nature of the jocular beasties rampaging across the pulsating lobes of viewers' cerebrums so far.

But what about the cons to there being a full length film? We all know the good things it would do for us. What about the cons? :) Peace.

    ATHF could work

    by craphole

Heck since the shows are only 15 minutes long the could call a 30 minute episode a movie if they wanted. Plus if it did go directly to the theatres imagine how much money it would take to promote & create the flick? If they got a few million people to go watch it...pbbb...they would be rolling in the dough. Remember...this is just what everybody said about Jackass: The movie.

    by george newman

It was great, but I got bored after an hour. Although that was heavily due to Having the Sit through the Openning/Ending credits and theme song for Each Damn Episode. That sucked. Every tens minutes was "MY NAME IS!!!!"

    Live Action

    by napoleon park

Mike Chicklis as Meatwad, Keanu Reeves as Master Shake, Kevin Smith as Fry, Ron Jeremy as the neighbor. Brad Pitt as Thundercles. With Seth Green as Brak, Brian Poesyn as Tom, Patrick Warburton as Harvey Birdman, Kevin Spacey as The Monarch and Jeri Ryan as white Debbie. And you know you'd watch it.

    by supermonkey321

...you go to UF man? Me too. But i missed that ATHF thing. I heard about it a week later and was pissed. But yeah, that theme song can get extremely annoying even the second in a row that you have to listen to it. The Dr. Weird (fuck Space Kataz) segments make up for having to sit through the title song though.

    by wungolioth

Did Seth Green talk about the new show he's Executive Producing for CN, Robot Chicken? I found the first ep hilarious, last 2 were only so-so. I was also impressed that he actually managed to get Burt Reynolds, Dom Deluise, and most of the cast of That 70's Show to do voices.
