SPOILER ALERT !!

MEDIUM 1.8 FAQ

What’s it called?

“Lucky.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay is credited to David Folwell. There’s evidence to suggest this may be Folwell’s first produced script ever.

What does TV Guide say?

“Allison finds that her brother also possesses psychic gifts, but when he pays the DuBois family a visit, he wants nothing to do with visions.”

Does David or Alexis Arquette play the brother?

Neither.

Does any blood relative of Allison not possess psychic powers?

I’m guessing Allison’s dad didn’t have them. Specialist Michael Benoit with the 47th Infantry is just Allison’s half-brother, so it looks like Allison, Ariel, Bridget and Michael all got it from Allison’s mom.

Allison is just now finding out about her brother’s psychic powers?

They didn’t really grow up together. They haven’t seen each other in five years. He’s a big fan of substance abuse.

Allison’s brother is in the military?

He’s just back from a war zone in Afghanistan. In the teaser Allison has a vision of Michael sustaining a deadly head-wound.

Deadly? So Alison’s brother dies this week?

No. Allison saw an event her brother averted.

It sounds like his visions saved his life. Why does her brother fear them?

He’s sort of responsible for the death of an American enlisted man. Sort of. And dead people have a way of haunting Allison’s kinfolk.

Is there no workplace plot for Allison this week?

There is workplace plot, involving a house fire, a comatose wife and a dead girl named Diedre.

What’s good?

“I told her you’d be upset if she made it too easy for us.” “She’s a guesser. For the state.” “One last chance to tell Aunt Tilly that the will’s in the closet.” “Mister? Did you ever kill someone?” “I kind of like it.” “Nice job, Sis!” Allison’s super-creepy march down the hospital corridor of lost souls, and her even creepier scene with the coma victim.

What’s not so good?

The last few seconds. But I’ll need some invisotext to explain. (Major spoilers ho.) Michael ends the episode with a smile on his face. But if I just sent the guy who saved my life and the lives of my combat unit to death row, I think I’d be a lot more conflicted. Like, a lot. Somebody needs to tell Allison’s brother that it’s not a happy ending just because the ghost has stopped nagging you.

How does it end, spoiler-boy?

The ghost stops with the nagging.

    I'll start this off

This is a "medium" good show. Hasn't really caught me yet but i'm hoping it gets better down the road.

    I would have to agree

    by rylrci

Medium has glimmers of hope of a good show all around it. But it still can't poke its head out of the mediocrity pool. Not a BAD show though....still watching.

worst episode so far, but still okay

    by regenhund

the brother's acting was poor, and his killer-friend suddenly turned into Grima Wormtongue at the memorial service. Herc, you're right about the arson subplot, though. The hospital walk was particularly cool. Still a good show, though. Come to think of it, 24 was a bit of let down tonight, too. Huh.

When does Cloris Leachman guest as her psychic aunt?

    by drath

Okay, they should never have had both daughters sharing Allison's gift this early in the show. Is that part based on real life too? The psychic but alcoholic brother felt like a character added at the request of the network. Next I'm waiting for an eccentric free-spirit aunt to pop up or maybe a slutty sister. Meanwhile the stuff with her creepy father-in-law's ghost remains unresolved. He watches his son and daughter-in-law in bed? Yuck!

Am I the only one who loves this show?

    by voice-of-reason

This year is an incredibly good year for television drama as far as I

    re: House

    by gislef_crow

I'd consider House on the to-watch list as well. It's a bit repetitive, but the focus has been more on the patients and their problems. Or last week's episode, "Detox" (most of the titles have a double-meaning), which actually had something to serious and different to say about drug "addiction." "If it's not hurting me, it's helping me deal with pain, it's not hindering my performance, then...is it a bad thing? Is it anybody else's business?" Next week's episode, with House ganging up with Chase's father (Patrick Bauchau) to make Chase miserable, sounds like fun as well.

So is the lady going to hell, or what?

    by symphy

Cause geez, if you watch those images slowly, it seems to imply that the woman is pure evil and on her way to a pit of fire.
