A Fan's Thoughts on His Face to Face Meeting With the Six String Samurai.

Published at:  Aug 18, 1998 1:21:05 AM CDT

This fan's close encounter with "Six String Samurai" star Jeffrey
Falcon is just the coolest. Take Father Geek's word for it, after you see this
fantastic fantasy (I seen it 7 times already) you'll be dying to have been in this geek's shoes.

I've seen the stuff about the San Diego Comic-Con, but nobody has really
mentioned the "Six String Samurai" booth. The moment I saw it on Saturday,
I rushed over to find only one guy talking with none other than Jeffrey
Falcon. Just one guy! It's almost as bad as last year when only about six
people were waiting to speak with Kevin Smith (the same, unfortunately,
can't be said for this year, with millions of comic-geeks waiting around
the View Askew booth. Oh well.).

After reading about "Samurai" for the past few months on your page, I was
delighted to finally see a trailer and talk with the star. He's really
cool. Unlike most of the stars I've met, from nobodies like Leguizamo to
Denzel, he seemed to be tailor made to talk with random people. He wasn't
the least bit pretentious, nor scatterbrained, as most actors seem to be.
In fact, he's downright smart. You don't come across too many actors who
speak two dialects of Chinese.

I mentioned your web page while speaking to him and he had nothing but
very high praise for you. He acknowledges that your webpage has quite a
bit to do with the general public being aware of the movie. Heck, some guy
from Montana, who read about "Samurai" on AICN, wanted to know if he'd get
to see it at a theater - probably not. But it's going to real states, just
very, very slowly. The San Diego premiere is Oct. 2. I can't wait. It's
unfortunate it's only going to be at one of this city's crappier movie
houses, but not all movies can open at the AMC theaters.

    Six-String Samurai

    by greg reeves

Hollywood has USC and UCLA to breed new filmmakers. But for those who want to call their own shots in the independent world of cinema, there is Loyola Marymount University, the alma-mater of the makers of this film. Congrats to fellow alum Lance Mungia for his effort. I hope to share the table with you someday, pal.

I've had the good fortune to
introduce my radio listeners in Connecticut and New York to the
    Surf-a-Billy coolness of the Red
Elvises from the Six String Samurai soundtrack, Due in Early September from Rykodisc.
Looking forward to seeing the film.

    Hey there, MONTANA!!!!

    by miss scully

Speaking of people in Montana seeing Six String Samurai AND the comment about "real states".....

I saw Six String Samurai in frickin Bozeman this spring!!! Take that!!!

I was quite impressed with the movie coming to my college (it has a quite decent film school) and having the star, director, and cinematographer come along too. Quite a nice gesture to us not in a REAL STATE!!!

p.s. if Montana succeeded from the union, we'd take 1/3 of the US's nuclear weapons with us. :P
