I can't believe I forgot - the Richard Kelly scripted, Tony Scott directed flick, DOMINO! First Pic Arrives Online!

Published at:  Jan 04, 2005 1:59:56 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... I'd like to apologize to you good folks for leaving what will most likely end up being one of the top 5 coolest films of 05 off my list, simply because it didn't have a release date that caught my eye. I am, of course, talking about Tony Scott's DOMINO! Now, what makes this so goddamn cool? Frankly, one of the coolest scripts you'd ever get a chance to read by Richard (Donnie Darko) Kelly! This script is just all that and a pack of smack. Richard Kelly will be coming out with this film and be being looked at as the genius, that folks that worship DONNIE DARKO already take him for. And then... prepare for his SOUTHLAND TALES - I guarantee you - you're not prepared for that baby!!

Nearly 2 years ago I previewed Richard's script for DOMINO (Click Here To Read!) and since then - Tony has been having Richard hone it into a pop cult masterpiece. After this - TRUE ROMANCE will no longer be Tony's coolest moment. The cast for this is Keira Knightley, Mena Suvari, Christopher Walken, Lucy Liu, Mickey Rourke, Macy Gray, JACQUELINE "FUCKING" BISSET!!!!, Edgar Ramirez, Mo'Nique, Dabney Coleman, Delroy Lindo and Brian Austin Green in a fucking hilarious role!

Cliick here for this first look at Kiera Knightley and her bounty hunting buddies, Mickey Rourke & Edgar Ramirez!!! Thanks goes out to MovieWeb who got the exclusive on the picture!

    lame

    by burlivesleftnut

kwingjr is a douche. This movie sounds incredible so far, but I love movies/tv where waifish women kick all kinds of ass. This pick looks like Scott is going for that zany over saturation effect he used on Man on Fire, which is okay, but way too stylistic. It's like watching a two hour music video. oh and kwingjr is still a douche.

Some people are afraid of the ROTS...

    by joe brady

I'm afraid of every new film featuring Mickey Rourke. Will he ever be as cool as he was in Rumble Fish/Angel Heart/Barfly/YOTD/etc., or will he continue to appear in movies that require him to wear leather vests and bullet belts? Time will tell.

Mickey Rourke is making quite the comeback

    by nflrefugee

First with Man on Fire, Sin City and now this, I guess you would call that a comeback. I suppose that is good, Rourke has been an inconsistent but usually interesting actor.

Count me in. Didn't read the book, but I read a similar one called SPY GIRL that was pretty funny (although I had to hide the pink cover from co-workers to protect my manly rep).

    NOTHING

    by samblackchvrch21

    can surpass True Romance.

Marty. Y'know what we got here? Motherfuckin' Charlie Bronson. Mr. Majestyk.

    Marty: He's askin' about Alabama.
Drexl Spivey: Where the fuck is that bitch?
    Clarence Worley: She's with me.
Drexl Spivey: Who the fuck are you?
    Clarence Worley: I'm her husband.
Drexl Spivey: [Laughs] Well, that makes us practically related.

They got everything here from a diddled-eyed joe to damned if I know.

Now I know I'm pretty, but I ain't as pretty as a couple of titties.

[In the Night Club after Drexel has beaten Clarence]
Drexl Spivey: He must have thought it was white boy day. It ain't white boy day, is it?
Marty: No man, It ain't white boy day.

    - Drexl Spivey

and thats just within 10 minutes.
    Lets see Domino beat that

    by themikejonas

The "sexiest tomboy beanpole on the planet." It's kind of refreshing when they go away for a while then come back, as opposed to the ones that hang around perpetually and continually annoy (certain beer-drinking, spousally-unfaithful has-been wrestlers, for example).

She's too fucking skinny to kick ass convincingly

    by mr. profit

Same reason Buffy sucked in the last seasons. It's hard to believe a frail chick can kick major ass. Kiera can't even try to walk through Soundview over here in the BX trying to be tough. They should have cast a woman with a more athletic body. Jessica Biel perhaps?

  • It'll take alot of 5th Element level shit to make Gary Oldman lose all the cool points he earned in that scene. Tony Scott took that scene and hit it out of the park. Fucking amazing scene. Then think about the Hopper-Walken scene ("Your great-great-great-great grandmother fucked an eggplant" or something like that) and the James Gandolfini scene...man, that movie had it's moments.

    misguided love for oldman

    by stigmata

Folks rave about Gary Oldman's rasta turn in 'True Romance' and, yes, Drexel Spivey (cousin of Marcellus Spivey mentioned in R. Dogs)was and forever will be great h o w e v e r it is Oldman's turn as a Hell's Kitchen thug in 'State of Grace' that belied his warped coolness as an actor. In fact, I see a double feature of these two films in my future. 'Domino' is going to rule, even if Knightly is a wafer. Almost makes me think Knightly as the titular Domino might've switched places with Charlize Theron as titular Aeon Flux. Aeon Flux is sickly angular, yes...as portrayed in the animation at least...and I'll buy Theron absorbing the recoil of a shotgun as per 'Monster'. Ok, screw the fantasy casting (too much damn time on my hands), these films cannot be more highly anticipated...time for a little MC5, 'Kick out the Jams'.

Was The Last Boy Scout. "I think I fucked a squirrel to death and don't remember". "Nobody likes you, everybody hates you. Smile, you Fuck". They don't make 'em like that anymore.

    True Romance ruled

    by rupee88

Yeah, that was a great movie. I thought Kill Bill sucked, but Tarantino wrote Res Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and True Romance. If he never contributed anything else, those 3 films make him a genius and a legend. Plus his From Dusk Till Dawn script was great too, although it got a little goofy during the 2nd half. And I forgot Natural Born Killers too...damn.
