I am – Hercules!!

Will NBC’s three-hour version of the acclaimed 2003 four-hour “Battlestar Galactica” miniseries, airing this Saturday, constitute the only miniseries repeat available before the new regular series launches on the SciFi Channel Jan. 14?

It will not! If you’re not keen on shelling out $20.40 for the unabridged miniseries DVD, the SciFi Channel will repeat all four hours of the mini the evening of Jan. 12.

And not only that: Between Jan. 10 and Jan. 14, SciFi is airing all 24 hours of the classic “Galactica” series as well as its 10-episode “Galactica 1980” sequel. Find now all the Galactici you’ll ever want or need:

Find a review of 1.10, satcast for the first time in the United Kingdom tonight, here.

No word yet on when the Universal HD Channel will begin satcasting the no-doubt-glorious high-definition version. One wonders if “Galactica” is, in fact, the reason the channel has yet to post its January schedule.

(Much love, by the way, to the Universal HD Channel, which also repeats high-def versions of "Karen Sisco," "Mister Sterling," "Century City," "Special Victims Unit," "Touching Evil" and loads of uncensored Universal movies like "Billy Madison" and "Out of Sight." Let's hope all studios follow suit. My pulse quickens at the thought of a Sony HD Channel, a Paramount HD Channel, a Warner Bros. HD Channel ... )

OOooh... so close to being first.

    by oatmeal2348

That being said, I can't wait to check out the new series again. I remember thinking I would hate it, especially after one of the first reviews on this site mocked the Cylon scan up and down the woman's back. I loved the new series, and hate my fellow fans across the pond who have already been enjoying these upcoming episodes. And personally, I don't believe this so-called Earth exists!

Episode 10 of the new series airs in the UK in just a few hours. The pdtv rip should be appearing online not too long after that. Get ready to fire up those Bittorrent clients!

Are they replaying the unaired episodes of Century City on that HD channel? I kind of liked that show. Really wishing they hadn't cancelled it. I can't stand lawyer shows, but could take this one with a little bit of geek mixed in. Thanks.

    Vindication?

    by odysseus

I loved the original series as a kid -- even when everyone was knocking it for being just another Star Wars knockoff. Watching those old episodes now... well, they're pretty creaky -- but they do have their moments. I still find the whole Biblical mythology of B.G. pretty cool. Call me a geek........... When I heard about the impending new miniseries a couple of years back, I was psyched. Turns out it had some major pacing problems (looking forward to the NBC edit, though), but it showed a lot of promise in its tone, characters, and the vertiginous style of the space battles......... Now, as the premiere of the series draws near here in the States, I can only hope that Galactica finally realizes the potential it had all along. Call me a geek.

Galactica 1980 -- the Starbuck Cylon episode

    by Kikstad

The Starbuck episode of Galactica 1980 is the only reason worth watching that horrific spin-off sequel series. Flying motorcycles anyone?

Human looking Cylons? They first appeared in Galactica 1980. Starbuck stranded and joining forces with a Cylon? In the new Galactica series, Starbuck finds a downed Cylon Raider and uses it to get off the planet -- and she may have formed a "bond" with it and the Cylons.

WHERE ARE THE BIT TORRENT CLIENTS???

    by koomoReborn

With Suprnova gone, anyone have a recommendation where I can pick this up? We can't get the Sci-Fi channel here, and we got up to ep 8 from the UK rips.

    Torrent Clients

    by Han Ol' Buddy

I didn't say this, but BT EFNET works as does torrents.to (for most episodes). Only episodes 1-9 have aired with episode 10 airing yesterday (I think).

  • Man, being a prick feels sooo gooood.

  • You cannot watch just one episode. They string you along with plotlines that do not wrap up (like Lost). I have actually re-watched some episodes several times which is CRAZY for me, because I usually do not like t.v. shows (I'm a movie buff). These shows are shot like a feature film and are very serious about the subject matter. I am a fan (and I used to love the old show. Hey, I was 9 years old, ok?).

    HDTV

    by Real Deal

Well I get an NBC station in HD on my cable. Sometimes the source material is in HD. Sometimes not. I'm wondering if NBC will bother to broadcast it in HD that night. If not that would be stupidly missing a golden opportunity. If so WOW!
