Remember how I told yall I was suppose to get a draft of the Indiana Jones 4 script? Well, I did today. It was written by Chris Columbus back in 1995 and it is his 1st draft. And it wasn't that bad, pretty good actually. Now for the bad news... It won't be the draft to make it on screen. This script was the one that I believe Ford and Spielberg passed on, before whoever wrote the current draft that all three principle creative types approved.
This script had to do with The Lost City of Sun Wu-Kung, a Stone Monkey, a Golden Hooped Staff and the Garden of Immortal Peaches. (remember back a couple of years when we heard it was Indy going after the fountain of youth?) This stuff is apparently heavily steeped in Chinese Mythology, not my area, I'm pretty well versed in the various European and South American Mythologies, not very well educated on my Eastern Studies. It's really a lacking in my education, and I would love to one day visit Angkor, BUT ANYWAY...
The script was set in 1937, the only recurring character from the past besides Indy was Brody, but he has been on the other side for quite some time now. Nazis and evil Chinese Pirates are the bad guys. And the script was by far the most "fantastical" in terms of mysticism and such. There is continuity with "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in that the Nazis have been keeping tabs on Indy since he screwed up their "Ark" venture. And in the script was another clever influence that 90% wouldn't have caught. One Nazi was to have a machine gun finger and semi-robotic arm, but alas this script was abandoned. A good thing actually, while it was quite fun, it had some very silly moments like when these two babes are being chased up a ridge by Nazis and as a last resort begin doing endangered bird hatchling calls, which cause aggressive mommy birds to peck the Nazis to death. I guess the Nazis were peckered to death. hahahahahhaaha hohohohohohohohohooo hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Sorry...sorry...oh my ribs hahahah. heee heee hee hooo hooo hahahahaha!!!!

Harrison Ford was at the premiere of Airforce One here in Stockholm yesterday and when asked if there will be another Indiana Jones movie he said: "George Lucas and I are set at another Indiana Jones but we still haven´t found any script."
