John K. & Spumco Artists in person at Petition signing party

Sat Sept. 11

John Kricfalusi (K.), and his cohorts from Spumco will be appearing in person Sat. Sept. 11 at 3PM at Golden Apple (7711 Melrose Ave.) to host a “Petition Signing Party”. Leo diCaprio has locked down the role of Jimmy the Idiot Boy. John K, at the height of his powers, has never been entirely about humour. So much of his material is either bizarre beyond words or simply downright disturbing. And I love it for that.

Don't the new ones suck because John K. ISN'T involved with them? Didn't he get fired years ago for the episode where Powdered Toast Man ("Quickly man, cling tenaciously to my buttocks") became President (not the worst choice for Prez anyone's made...) and set fire to the Constitution to warm up? Heh... still makes me chuckle. -Pax-

  • Golden Apple is cool, too, although they've got nothing on Hi De Ho Comics in Santa Monica in terms of products

Kricfalusi and Spumco were fired after the 2nd season on Nick (which has unfortuantely become the home of crap like SPONGEBOB while cancelling the genius that was INVADER ZIM). The new SPIKE TV episodes have the old Spumco guys back, including Kricfalusi.
I have to agree with what Wild at Heart said-the primary goal of R & S was to make us laugh while being disturbed simultaneously. I think the new episodes are great

The show was terrible, and rightfully buried by Spike TV. Let's face facts -- Spike needs all the great shows it can get. If it was well-received at all, they'd have kept it on. Jeez, they had a bigger committment to Striparella, for Og's sake. Just put out the old episodes on DVD if you want to make a quick buck.

It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good. I think I remember Ren Hoek and Stimpson J. Cat. Didn't they turned gay when they got to Spike TV. [Reporter]Mr. Horse, what do you think of the new Ren and Stimpy? [Mr. Horse] (Putting hoof to chin and thinking profoundly) Mmmmmm. No sir, I don't like it. --- Still, the old show was great, who's gonna buy the DVD set coming out soon?

And the "real" Ren & Stimpy hits DVD on October 12th, with the first two seasons uncut and with commentary by John K.
