Disney's animated sci-fi thing, A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON images and animated logo!

Published at:  Aug 16, 2004 12:08:59 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... PitDoc is THE man! Haven't even really heard of this project yet. A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON... a CG animated film scheduled to hit theaters in 2006. Now, it's from a book by William Joyce, who was the creator of "Rolie Polie Olie" and one of the producers of FOX's ROBOTS! It's being directed by Stephen Anderson, who has mainly been in the artistic side on projects like BROTHER BEAR, EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE and did amazing storyboard work on Disney's TARZAN! I love the look of this thing. Here check it out for yourself....

Don't you think the names are a little similar for them both to be Sci-Fi?

...And also the author of DINOSAUR BOB.

There's just something about a brontosaurus playing baseball for the Yankees that makes me chuckle.

    Bwah?

I was a big fan of the book as a kid, and from what it looks like, they are totally beefing up the story. Why? I don't know, they could have done a lot with what the book gave them... Hopefully it will be more than just decent like Jumanji was.

It stinks and I don't like it

Whose idea was it to videotape the animated titles for these movies? What use is it? And why has Harry suddenly decided to start hosting video clips on his site?

Disney always fucks animated sci-fi/adventure movies.

The Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Treasure Planet...all three had potential, but were hamstrung by lame comic relief and wretched character designs. To date, only Titan A.E. has really been even halfways decent as 'toon sci-fi (yeah, it had it's flaws, but it was still more entertaining than the last Star Bores movie). "An intelligent guard! Didn't see *that* one coming..."
