Hello AICN, everyone...

Hellboy geeks in Los Angeles! July 27 is the day you can get your
Hellboy DVD signed by the awesome Guillermo Del Toro. This absolutely kicks ass! Guillermo is the coolest person on the planet! We are honored to have this signing in our store. Thanks AICN for letting me send this in.

Thanks,

CbabbittRAIN

Or, if you want it in straight non-geeked language...

Guillermo del Toro will be at Laser Blazer, in Los Angeles, to sign copies of the Hellboy DVD when it is released on Tuesday, July 27th, from 5pm-9pm.

For more information CLICK HERE!!

    Hellboy = Disappointing

    by harrylarry

I'm sure Del Toro is a nice guy and all. But I was expecting much more from Hellboy after all of the hype that AICN gave it. Hellboy himself looked great but the story itself was a frickin' bore.

Am I the only one who was mad at him when he did Blade 2? I really couldn't stand Blade 2. I might have tolerated the story... But I really hated the way that movie looked.

Hellboy...I wish they had made the plot more like the comic. I didn't like they way it borrowed from a bunch of the comics. I wished it felt more like a single story than a bunch strewn together. I still think it was a fun movie though and I think it was directed very well and the characters were awesomely presented.

    Hellboy only made $59 million????!!!

    by kraven jones

I just read that thread to USA Today. Hard to believe Hellboy only made that much. I thought it made $100 million. Maybe it was a hit outside the U.S.?

    Seed of Destruction

    by trevor goodchild

Since I either have to get my DVD player chipped or wait until September I decided to start reading the Hellboy books. I love them.

Which of the books does the movie follow.

I have read Seed of Destruction and The Right Hand of Doom.

I loved the fact that they were set in unusual locations 30's rural England, 60's Denmark.

Hellboy made $59.4 million here and $5.7 million overseas. That's what I call a major BOMB.

    books

    by gredenko

a lot of the film was from seed of destruction, but it also has parts from the 5th book in there, so it's really a mashup of all of them to an extent. the corpse is in there, and the film wraps up with a weird spin on the end of the last trade. you'd have to read all of them to really get all of it, but then again, the movie is its own thing and doesn't require the books at all to make sense.

Let me translate from Moriarty to English

    by bigblackock

When he says he'll try and be there, what he really means is:
Don't get in his way while he tries to fellate Del Toro while simultaneously trying to shill whatever shit script he wrote last week.

    Hellboy 2

    by fitzcarraldo2

If it didn't make much at the box office how come Hellboy 2 is in the works? It'll be better than the vast majority of shite being released. Don't forget, UK readers, CD-Wow for all your multi-region DVD needs.

Skip this version and wait for the Director's Cut

    by iamlegolas

Not only is it a longer version, it's also got the same extras as this 2-disc, plus more. And it's coming out in Oct. Rent this one if you have to, unless you have money to burn.
