SHAUN OF THE DEAD moves to Sept 24 - Leaves SKY CAPTAIN to rule the 17th alone!

Published at:  Jul 23, 2004 2:49:15 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... The brilliant film, SHAUN OF THE DEAD, has made the wise move to open on September 24th of this year, rather than open against SKY CAPTAIN & THE WORLD OF TOMORROW on the 17th. Now, originally Shaun was to crack open on just 100 screens on that date, and platform wider on the 24th. The idea now is to open on 500 Screens as their first stage of release, and expand further the next week!

Meanwhile... You Austin and Texas and Southern States of America readers that are dying to see SHAUN OF THE DEAD sooner, should head over to: The Alamo Drafthouse's Event Site to grab up tickets for the September 1st screening of SHAUN OF THE DEAD, which looks to have director Edgar Wright plus the brilliant actors/comedians - Simon Pegg and Nick Frost live (or undead as they may be) in attendance!!! We'll also have nifty event shirts as a tie-in. Very cool! And now, that screening is 23 days EARLY!!!! Woo-Hoo!

Dude, Sept. is starting to look like a summer month

    by terry_1978

Resident Evil, Sky Captain, Shaun of the Dead....there's movies that could POSSIBLY make huge profits coming out in that month that would normally be released this time of year.

....the true joy of having a region-free NTSC/PAL system. Never having to settle for an inferior edition due to coding, and never having to wait for trans-atlantic/pacific premieres or release dates.

There *is* a UK comic con. It was in Bristol at the end of May. If you can't wait 'til next year, You could always try Moniaive in September or Dreddcon in October...
