On the off chance Matt and Trey look here, I just wanted to say thanks for being the only duo with a toe in the mainstream who can consistantly make me giggle like a little kid again. Also, how the HELL did you get Comedy Central to air the uncut version of BL&U??!?!? I sat there busting up for 30 minutes just from flipping through standard cable and hearing them yell, "FUCK" 10 times a minute. Freaking hilarious. Here's looking forward and wishing you good luck on the muppet flick!

I can't put into words how fucking badly I want to see this movie.
July 16, 2004, 7:23 a.m. CST
I got more laughs from the set report of this movie than any movie I've actually seen in the past year.
July 16, 2004, 7:40 a.m. CST
How can they do it AND South Park?
July 16, 2004, 7:51 a.m. CST

July 16, 2004, 9:53 a.m. CST
this will most likely not be a film about beating up on liberals. f9/11 fans, if they have any sense of satire, should be able to appreciate this movie as well.
July 16, 2004, 10:18 a.m. CST
"Team America! Fuck Yeah!" That's the funniest thing I've heard in months! I can't wait for this flick! Looks to be an interesting fall for movies already...

I bet harry actually thought about not posting this story because it was 'un-flattering' to liberals. I KNOW IT!
July 16, 2004, 10:44 a.m. CST
...by far the best movie news I've heard in months. "Team America -- Fuck Yeah!!" That is, without a doubt, the greatest song title ever. This whole project sounds utterly hilarious. I can't stop laughing every time I think of the idea of Kim Jong Il crooning "I'm Ronery." Ladies and Gentlemen, this is comedy GOLD.
July 16, 2004, 11:34 a.m. CST
This sounds like pure genius. Pure mad genius.
July 16, 2004, 11:46 a.m. CST
As well as the best musical, I would gladly pay to see anything these guys want to put out. I'd give it a shot. I have forgotten Orgasmo and Baseketball so I don't hold those against them.
July 16, 2004, 11:56 a.m. CST
Suck it buddy, What you don't seem to understand is, liberals have a sense of humor. We have the ability to agree with someone AND laugh when they or we are the punchline. You see, Matt and Trey are just funny, period. It doesn't matter if we agree with the characterization they portray because it's comedy and nothing is safe in comedy. If it's funny, it's funny. If it was the other way around you would all be crying about the so called liberal media.

I've always wondered if there could ever be a song that made me laugh as much as 'Uncle Fucka' did. Well, if the title is any indication, 'Team America! Fuck Yeah!' could be that song. I've never laughed so hard at a song title. And following it up with the Aerosmith style ballad during a love scene.... Brilliant.

... is it wrong to be fetal with laughter about that? Anyone else, I'd wonder. Only Stone and Parker could pull that off. It just keeps gettin' funnier every time I picture Kim Jong-il belting into song. (I just hope Tom Ridge has a cameo as the equivalent of that weird little dude that used to fix Thunderbird 1 from time to time...)

I don't know what more they can do to Barbara Streissand after they were through with her on SOUTH PARK. I know even though Alec Baldwin got bombed in BIGGER, LOUDER AND UNCUT, I still want to see him get ripped apart again. For a liberal, he's incredibly violent and petty. Susan Sarandon is a total bitch as far as I'm concerned. She's always on about all the good and selfless things she's done, but whenever I see her on Conan or The Daily Show, she's so rude and snotty, without any provocation. What makes liberals so good a target is that they're so offended if you have a different point of view, even though they're supposed to be so open-minded. So many liberals I've met are just as intolerant as conservatives. Even more so. Probably some left-winger is going to call me a fascist, right-winger when I'm not. I'm just stuck in the middle like most people.

"I'm Ronery"? HOLY SHIT! I don't care how politically incorrect it is. There is NOTHING funnier than asian accents. Scottish pales in comparison to the misplaced r's and l's of an asian accent. This should make a lot of money too. There are so many people out there aching for something that lambastes Michael Moore. "South Park" is the only show that consistently blows me away with either it's brilliance or just how funny it is. Republican agenda, Democrat agenda, I don't care i'm seeing it.

I'm not even a particularly big fan of South Park, but God bless these guys for continuing to push the boundaries of both taste and creativity. I love that 2004 (despite all the people decrying it as a bad year for movies) has seen the retrun of controversy to the silver screen, with The Passion, F9/11 and now this. Though I wonder if the people reading this and gloating over how the liberals are going to be skewered (which I'm sure they are) realize that the whole PREMISE for the movie seems to be mocking the hawkish republican mindset--similar to "Starship Troopers", the whole thing seems to be a gigantic exercise in irony. That's what I got from the write-up above, anyway. Also, given that Parker and Stone were featured prominently in "Bowling for Columbine", the "take THAT, Liberals" attitude might be a little hasty. That's all I'm saying. Also, "Terrorize this!!!!" made me laugh very, very hard.

...on this since I first heard of it, when? Like a year ago maybe less. To think, it's going to happen is so awesome. Parker and Stone just had what might be the best South Park season ever. They are still taking risks and still poking holes in everyone on every side of the political spectrum. Which they ALL deserve. No mercy for anyone. Could be THE movie event of the fall. I agree that theme song title is the funniest thing in the article. Props to AICN for giving an indepth, full behind the scenes look at all aspects of the film and talking to people like Pope that most articles wouldnt bother with. Also, if anyone didnt catch Trio's fantastic doc on Parker and Stone's aborted entry into the dot com bubble called Shocked (I think), it's well worth your time. They come out like the iconoclasts they are and the corporate dickheads (particularly one woman at Shockwave) come off as total money worshipping, corporate speak Lundbergs. Team America...FUCK YEAH!

Matt and Trey are always good for a truckload of laughs and gags. Maybe they'll throw us a crumb and release a trailer for it soon.
July 17, 2004, 1:27 a.m. CST
This has got to be one of the most positive feedbacks I've ever scene; especially for just a fucking set report. And I agree with everyone, "Terrorize this!" ROFL!!!!!! Nobody, NOBODY in America can rip the kooks on the right and the left like these two. "TEAM AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!" I'm gonna be saying that until October.

I tried to come here earlier today to check on the news and noticed that I couldn't get onto the site. Now I have read the reason why and I am as happy as a pig in shit! Trey and Matt are fucking brilliant! They might as well be called the great uniters of this already politically divided nation. Yeah, I tend to swing towards the right wing and the moment I read that those celebrities were getting skewered I admit to my stupid loser-dom, I started pumping my fist in the air and shouting at the top of my lungs (and fell out of my chair laughing when I read about the Michael Moore puppet having a permanent mustard stain). Republicans and Democrats will get to laugh at each other's shortcomings. This makes Trey and Matt a whole helluva lot more fair and balanced than the Fox News Network.....THAT'S FOR DAMNED SURE! Okay lefties, rhetorically slam me into the ground. In closing, I hope a real terrorist attack doesn't occur and puts this sucker on hiatus. That would totally suck donkey balls.

I've lived in Tokyo, Japan, for the last couple years since I moved here in the Summer of 2002 from Los Angeles. I was working for Twentieth Century Fox, but found myself disillusioned with the freakin' greedy movie scene after September 11th. Anyway, long story short, a few weeks ago, I was walking through Tokyo Station (crowded as Hell) and almost ran into Matt Stone - or was it Trey Parker? Telling them apart is like figuring out which one's Kate and which one's Ally. In any event, it was the one with curly hair, NOT frizzy hair like Jeff what's-his-name in Lawnmomer Man. He was walking out of the station with a (I'm assuming) Japanese woman, and looked like he'd just gotten off a plane out of Narita. Anyone know if this had something to do with his recording of the 'Ronery' song, or Team America in general? Or did I just see some geek that looked like him?

Matt & Trey should get honorary Ph.D.'s!!! These gents know how to f**k whatever's hot and cool at the moment, and still be blazingly retro about it. Few people can pull off what they have, and still remain respected. Matt & Trey (if you're reading), go f**k yourselves with Paris Hilton plastered on your faces.... then release it on the internet. Justice!!!!
July 17, 2004, 1:04 p.m. CST
They've taken jabs at both liberal and conservative views, and that's why I love their humor so much, they always point out that the other side is just as fucked up as the opposing side thinks the other side is...or something like that. Bring on Team America!
July 17, 2004, 2:56 p.m. CST
I cant beleave they said Matt Stone is the next Henson. They should just stick to there crappy animation and leave the puppets to the pros.( in fact they did just that) Just because you have an idea to use puppets doesn't give anyone the right to call Him the next Henson. this fuck never made a puppet in there life.( sept maybe a sock puppet to jack off with) Henson also made and worked his own puppets. you fucks better start giving credit where its do or i'll kill every last one of you mother fuckers! * insert intro music to pulp fiction here* P.S.. this is going to be one sweet ass movie.
