Does Mary Jane Watson have a death wish' Dunst thinks so!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a bit from an Australian junket interview promoting SPIDER-MAN 2. Kirsten Dunst was interviewed and dropped a few bombs about her feelings on where the character should go and what her fate in the series is after SPIDER-MAN 3. I pulled out the below segment of Paul Fischer's story that directly relates. To read the whole thing, which I recommend, click here!!!

"The next one will be it. I'm only contracted to 3 and don't see myself signing for a 4th or a 5th," says Dunst, emphatically. Asked if she would love to see her Mary Jane character killed off in Spider-Man 3, Dunst laughs. "It would actually be really interesting if SPIDER-MAN died. Why doesn't the superhero ever die? I think if Mary Jane was alone, pregnant and he died, she could give birth to a spider baby and carry on the series with another young boy or something like that. I doubt Tobey Maguire would come back for a 4th or a 5th either."

Well, that kinda pisses me off just a tad. I haven't been totally sold on Dunsts as MJ, although she won herself a little headway with the perfect delivery of "Go get 'em, Tiger" in SPIDER-MAN 2. I always thought she'd be perfect as Gwen Stacy and now that she's jumping ship it would have been perfect to end it with her death, especially if they bring back Green Goblin which it seems they're keen on doing judging by the "discovery" scene with Harry Osborne.

If they do something stupid like kill off MJ or that retarded idea she had about killing SPIDER-MAN, just watch the crowd turn from adoring to blood-thirsty. Dunst may not have read the comics, but there are a whole lotta Spidey comic lovin' motherfuckers out there. If the stars want to jump ship after the next movie, then hire others. I'm sure the THAT '70s SHOW chick wouldn't mind taking a stab at MJ... Sigh... Sorry for the grumpy rumblings. I might be overreacting to her statements. Nothing is official, keep that in mind. There's not even a script for the Third film, yet, so just take this as one actress' musings.

    Dumb Dunst.

    by Battousai

What is she planning to star in Mona Lisa Smile 2 or something?

  • July 15, 2004, 4:45 a.m. CST

    Just one actress' musings...

    by alfiemoon

...Exactly. She's just trying to say something interesting after a month-long junket, just trying to thwipp up some enthusiasm for the film and say something new. They can't kill off MJ, and here's why: If they'd have introduced Gwen Stacy and given her the series-defining death that she deserved at the hands of the Green Goblin (or Spidey?), then all well and good and they could have progressed to MJ in later films... but they were never going to do that. You see, Gwen doesn't exist in the Marvel Universe comic books any more, and if they're going to do tie-in comic and get readers onboard for their regualar titles, then they want a movie universe and a comics universe which are broadly similar. So, with a 21st century release of the film series, and Gwen having died way back in the 70s, we're not going to see her on celluloid... and by extension, we won't see her father and his equally important arc. It's filmmaking according to the accountants, and whilst it might piss off fanboys and lead to the franchise stagnating early, it's really the only smart marketing move for Marvel.

    No real surprise...

    by Talandir

Dunst is fairly hot property. I wouldn't expect her to keep coming back to any role, even one as big as MJ. Same goes for Maguire and Raimi. Besides, do we really want to stretch out a film series beyond three? Film series aren't like comics. The need for fairly self-contained stories along with the aging factor make it nearly impossible to sustain quality in the long run. Remember the last 2 entries in both Superman and Batman? Let tem make the films as long as they really want to, but don't plead for them to bleed it dry. BTW, Laura Prepon would make a great MJ.

    I don't understand the haters...

    by Monkey Butler

Jesus Christ, what the hell is wrong with you people? Spider-man 2 was something that I guess you guys don't understand - F.U.N. - That's right folks, people actually go to the movies to have fun and be entertained, they don't care that Dunst's portrayal is too much like Gwen Stacey (whoever the fuck that is) and not enough like Mary Jane Watson, or that Spidey shouldn't have organic webshooters - they just wanna sit in the dark for a couple of hours and have a good time. And as for these comments, it's just Dunst trying to liven up an interview she's done a billion times already. It's not set in stone. And I'm guessing (if Sony are smart) the third film will be the last - they'll introduce Venom (same way as in the cartoons) and Harry as the Hobgoblin (or whatever) - Harry will kill MJ while Spidey fights Venom - Spidey kicks both their arses, and goes on to fight another day (like at the end of the first one - you gotta do what you gotta do). And that'll be it.

Spidey 3 should be Dunst's last. As well as Raimi's and Maguire's. Maybe get James Cameron to do Spidey 4 with all new everything. After all he was attached to it first.

    I agree with Monkey Butler...

    by alchemist

They should just keep it to a trilogy and bow out while Maguire, Dunst and Raimi are still on board. The proposed 9 films sounds like it will slide into shitsville around the forth flick with everyone jumping ship after Spiderman 3. Would never happen, though.

  • ...she'll do more movies if the money is right. And it will be.

  • July 15, 2004, 5:41 a.m. CST

    Let's get real here...

    by Lazarus Long

The downside of getting good, well-known actors to appear in comic movies is that, SURPRISE!, they won't want to be stuck in these roles indefinitely. While it might be seen as a great opportunity to appear in a franchise like one of these Marvel comics adaptions, any GOOD actor is going to want to explore new avenues. Peter Parker may be a cool 3-D character, but it gets old, let alone how old Mary Jane is going to be by part 3. I wouldn't fault Dunst or Maguire for getting the fuck out by that point. Unfortunately, the studio mentality (and the public's as well, perhaps) is to keep milking something until it gets lame. In my opinion, I think they should let it rest after 3 films, then come back in 10 years and start it up again with someone else. Same goes for X-Men, Batman, Superman, or whatever else they're working on. There's just no way you can keep something fresh for longer than that. Even fans of the Star Wars prequels (of which I include myself) would admit that the movies would have suffered without the decade and a half break. There needs to be a time of reflection and regrouping in order to breathe new life into something (Batman Begins, e.g.). Spider-Man 4 is going to suck donkey balls no matter who's in it, or directs it, if it comes out 2010 or earlier...

MJ has a beer, and cheats on Peter

    by mbaker

That was the stupidist thing Dunst has ever said. I could understand her not liking comic books, (She even admits that.) but she should at least show some respect for the fans. Her silly comments only reinforce the stereotype that women don't read comics, and would never be caught dead with a comic fan. (It's no wonder why we never get laied.) It starting to become more, and more clear that Kirsten Dunst is just another arrogant Hollywood starlet with no class what so ever.

franchise and comics tie-in? not likely

    by krylite

Teens and young adults don't read comics anymore. They just watch movies and mtv. Tie-ins to comics and other media have failed. ex: Matrix Reloaded. I think the future success of SpiderMan solely depends on Raimi's plans whatever they are. The movies have already ripped off a lot of angst stuff and drama arcs from Superman I and II. Dunst will be an idiot if she doesn't milk the franchise for 1 or more sequels. The franchise made her and she was lucky enough to be in it, other than doing more cheerleading movies. The success of SM is due to Raimi's fresh directing period.

she never fit that part very well anyway. Just recast MJ and kick yourself Raimi for not making her Gwen Stacy to begin with. Laura Prepon was a good suggestion but I think she's about a foot taller than Tobey. Lindsay Lohan is a better choice in my opinion. She not only looks the part but she's a pretty good young actress as well. You hear me Lohan's agent! Start making your pitch!

    I Wouldn't Mind

    by drew mcweeny

I think it might be sort of great if they killed off MJ, as long as they introduced Gwen Stacy immediately after. Inverting comic continuity like that might be fun. If they're going to do it, they should go all the way and kill MJ with the infamous fall and snap. Film audiences who don't know their comic history would never recover, and fans would certainly enjoy seeing that moment realized, even if it wasn't the same girl on the unfortunate end of the web.

You're right about her delivery of that one line in Spidey 2, but I'm not a big fan of hers. They could have gone with, like, a million other actresses and I would've been as happy or happier than what I've seen from Dunst. Spidey movies totally rock as the best geek films of all time.

    Danes and Dunst

    by Roboteer

Not sure why the Danes cheap shot. Only mistake she made was hooking up with another immature commitment-phobe like Crudup who ran as fast as he could away from parenthood. Hardly being "stolen away". And he wasn't Parker's "hubby". That was HER mistake.......... I think Dunst's leaving will help the SM franchise by giving it some new blood (maybe in more ways than one). Sometimes the book just can't be adhered to. It'll survive. And covering the same ground over and over would lose audience big time. (Why Goblin2 could be a mistake). Give KD credit in her comment to at least thinking outside the box. As an actress, though talented, there's something a little off or missing in her roles. Maybe a little too workman-like or lacking in poignancy. Her only standout performance: crazy/beautiful. There was improvement in SM2 though...... Despite the latter's higher profile, Danes is a better actress than Dunst and proved she could do an action role in T3. She would have shined in the more character oriented SM's. She'd be a great choice in the future, though her long term commitment to the project would also be in question....... Laura Prepon? That's a joke right? Seriously, who else could be the next Peter Parker love match?

    Dunst may be onto something...

    by TheFastTheFurion

There's something to be said for controversial plot decisions, whether good or bad. I personally would love to see Spider-Man die, just because we're never shocked or surprised by movies anymore. Sure, for the sake of the comic book and the future of the franchise, it would never happen, but I just think that'd be an interesting end to this trilogy. At best it leaves the audience with reverance for the series, and at worse, it'll kick some studio execs in the balls and get them to start living a little with their properties.

Folks it is all contract negotiation standard practice to leak to the press the intent not to return to a franchise. "And Toby probably won't do a 4th and 5th either." Read between the lines, the two main stars are asking for a higher contract with more options on a two picture deal.

    About Spidey Dieing...

    by TheFastTheFurion

It just seems that movies never surprise anymore. Books do, hell, even certain games do (Aeris anyone?), but for some reason films always play it safe. When was the last time you were truly surprised by a movie? For some reason the execs won't take the gutsy dives that other mediums will. Safe movies = zero tension, suspense, the things going to the flicks is all about. Kill off a superhero here and there, and maybe the next time Indy is thrown into a pit of snakes, the audience might think: "Hell, if they killed Spidey..."

A young, successful actress with her entire career ahead of her ONLY wants to do THREE FILMS of a franchise! The nerve! The idea! Let loose the massively obese, acne-scarred attack dogs! Seriously, WTF? Since when does Dunst (or any other actor involved in this or any other film) owe anyone a lifetime committment to just one role? Spiderman 1 started production in early 2001. The third movie will probably not be relased until summer 2006. In case you've forgotten basic arithmatic, that's FIVE YEARS of playing the same role. Dunst and Macguire think that's enough? NO SHIT. GOOD FOR THEM.

She may not be a fan of the comics, but even she should know that one of the fundamental aspects of Spiderman is that HE LIVES, and continues living for a long time. They'll just get new actors to take Tobey and Dunst's roles - the series is very successful, and won't stop at Spiderman 3. At least, I hope not.

    Who cares?

    by IAmLegolas

Most of us agree that she's not the greatest choice for Mary Jane anyway, and she's been saying a lot of dumb stuff in interviews lately (paraphrasing): (On a Spider-Man 3 & 4) : "Don't you think the series has run it's course?" --- I hope she isn't around for the later installments for Spider-Man, but by then we might have bigger problems to deal with anyway, Raimi won't be onboard as I'm sure a lot of other people who've been making these fantastic films. I hope and pray the film series doesn't degenerate to straight-to-video garbage, it would be nice for a series of movie to improve as the series goes on. 'nuff said!

  • July 15, 2004, 10 a.m. CST

If she and Tobey quit the series is done!

    by screenplaywriter

Plain and simple. I mean her "WIMBLEDOM" movie doesn't look like something that's going to put her on the map, or make her multi-successful as this franchise has. She probably saying she wants to quit, mainly because, she probably wants the coveted spin-off movie "MARY JANE" based on the soap-opery-shit-indulgent-teen-drama-comic-book, but come on Dunst! You're perfect for MJ you need to stay at it for 4 more movies. Also, one final thought Lindsey Lohan is one FINE piece of ass, but I don't think I could see her as Mary Jane, because where there is Lindsey, there is Hilary Duff waiting in the black latex bodysuit and white hair----Black Cat anyone? I mean sure they both are sexy and big-rising stars, but Tobey kissing them or something else would be kind of like screwing your friend's younger sister.

More Than 3 Movies Is Just Asking For Trouble...

    by Hokeybutt

Marvel/Columbia should consider themselves lucky to get a 3rd movie from this franchise and not have it suck. I mean, seriously, how are they going to top Spidey 2? This should have been the last movie (maybe had a Lizard or Vulture movie as #2)... and ended with Spidey swinging into the wedding ceremony, grabbing MJ and taking off with her... with JJJ screaming for his blood. Then there would be no need to make a Spiderman movie ever again. This movie hit all the right notes and there is no way a 3rd is going to improve on the series. After #3 comes out no one is going to give a shit about #4 except as a means of selling more merchandise.

    Thank God

    by zer0cool2k2

Thank god there was a decade and a half break between the Original Trilogy and the Star Wars prequels, otherwise the quality might have suffered! Hee Hee..... Now, I definitely agree with you that Dunst would have been better as Gwen, (and if you don't know who Gwen Stacy is, READ A BOOK), I also agree that her death was so long ago that marketing made MJ the obvious choice.(Although Gwen is in the Ultimates line) Of course, if you're continuity obsessed, in the comics, Peter did meet MJ long before Gwen, and dated Betty Brant before either of them. If Dunst really wants to leave, I see her death being shrouded in mystery, opening the door for Gwen Stacy (Rachel McAdams, Kiera Knightley...?) who would end up getting dropped off a bridge in time for Dunst to return to the series or for another actress to replace her as Mary Jane(?) Lohan ought to be old enough for the role by then.

    Dunst as MJ

    by NemoJudex

I think she's perfect, because she's not the perfect looking girl. Hell, I'd jump at the chance, as would most Peter Parker types. If you had a Knightley or a Portman playing MJ, how believable would romance with Parker be? Yes, Tobey Maguire is probably a good looking bloke, but Peter Parker is a geek! And he's great for it. Dunst works so well, because she isn't unattainable, whislt still being pretty damn fine! As for the franchise, my simple answer would be: As long as Raimi is happy doing it, I'm happy watching it. So long as it doesn't get in the way of another Ash appearance....;)

    by the beef

first of all, yes it would certainly be interesting to see them kill off a super-hero, but it's never going to happen, at least not with this franchise. Killing off a blockbuster character such as this would be financial suicide, they are going to milk Spider-Man dry. And, yes i agree with all of you who said that Kirsten was strictly talking out of her ass to liven up an interview that she's been doing for not just this year but every interview she's probably done since SM1. and no, kirsten wouldn't stay for loads of cash because it isn't going to be offered to her for the simple fact that she, with no disrespect to her because i think she does a fine job as MJ, but she is the most easily replaceable personality of the main cast. and more power to her for not wanting to be typecasted as a certain character even if it is MJ. The people who are comfortable playing the exact same character work in television, not film.

I'm glad she'll be gone after the next movie. The first two movies were entertaining but she almost ruined it for me. She just isn't pretty enough to play Mary Jane. In the comics, MJ is supposed to be a hot mamasita. Kirsten Dunst just doesn't do it for me. I know she's a talented actress but she lacks charisma and is annoying. They should never have skipped the Gwen Stacy storyline from the comics.

What she says has as much sway as what you say. She obviously doesn't read comics but Sam Raimi does and he is making the decisions. Even if he doesn't direct after 3, he'll produce and since he loves the comics he'll make sure it's done right. Everyone take a breath.

R.C.'s opinion on Cast for Spidey and MJ for flicks 4, 5, and 6

    by R.C. the "Wise"

Since Sony Pictures have already confirm that they plan to make 6 movies, it's safe to say they'll continue the franchise with the same tactics as the original Batman franchise. Hopefully with better results. As for casting suggestions, well here they are: The Director to steer the second half of the franchise would be Jonathan Frakes, Robert Rodriguez, Antoine Fuquia, Hype Williams, Brett Ratner, or Mimi (that woman who directed Deep Impact). For the dexterous, hilarious and couragous new Spidey I would cast Either Benjamin McKenzie or Adam Brody from the O.C. to portray Peter Parker/Spiderman. Mary Jane would be portrayed by Lauren Prepon, Anne Hatheway, an unknown, or Maria Sharapova (j/k) - Just to let you know, the next 3 in the series should be modeled after the darker, funnier, more recent MacFarlene inspired Spiderman, not the 60's Spidey. Keep it hip but solid. The one thing laking with the Spidey character is his own sense of humor. Sure there are some hysterical scenes featuring Spidey or Parker but where is Spiderman's wit, his quick assessment one-liners, his bravado. None are portrayed in Raimi's vision of the Wallcrawler.

She looks half-asleep on screen and slurs her speech in everything I've ever seen her in. The only movie she was decent in was "Interview" and that was because she was a kiddo and supposed to be creepy looking. And what is with that GRILL? Also just use "talk balloons" as no actress will ever "speak" like MJ. Get a grip people. Here is the way it will play out. I get mad when people say to end it after 3. Why? That's stupid. Go to 20. GO to 40. Don't stop. The comic has gone over 500 issues, and that is just AMAZING. There is also SPECTACULAR, WEB OF, SENSATIONAL, WEBSPINNERS, MARVEL TEAM UP, SPIDER-MAN, etc. The point is there are plenty of stories to be told. There are over 20 James Bond movies. SPIDER-MAN should be the same. Just keep going. Recast when you have to but keep going. Stoping after 3? How small minded. And who is Dunst to say MaGuire wouldn't do 4 or 5? Raimi said he'd stay as long as Sony would have him. I'm sure Raimi, a great script, and a big paycheck could convince MaGuire.

    Spidey should die

    by Mafu

The major problem I've always had with comics is that the "heroes" (is there a difference between a hero and superhero?) are either indestructible, or preternaturally lucky. For me, the problem is that comics are not written for people with a strong sense of drama. That's cool in a general sense, I suppose, and I recognize that millions (possibly billions) of people dig comics, but I've never truly emjoyed comics for this reason. There's no true appreciation for character or the character's accomplishments because there's no true sense that the character can actually die. I completely agree with Dunst - I'd love to see SpiderMan die in the next movie. Not in the comic book "we'll bring him back in some far-fetched. convoluted way so our fans won't bitch and moan" kind of way, but something more appropriate. But that's just me.

Additionally, several of us have mentioned that perhaps instead of a Power Rangers Suit, the "performance enhancement" formula would affect Harry by physically transforming him, much like the post-Inferno demonic-looking Hobgoblin II (or, indeed, the Green Goblin as seen in Ultimate Spider-Man.)

Everyone knows that Harry became Green Goblin 2, but I'll betcha dollars to Quint's donuts that the movie will change Green Goblin to Hobgoblin. besides, Green Goblin/ Hobgoblin - its all the same just different names. The idea and feel behind the story would remain. Personally if I was in charge I would offically name the character The Goddamn Goblin.

The Goblin kills Marry Jane and then SPider-man and Goblin die in the final battle. That would fuck people up as a movie, but it will never happen. What they could do is kill Marry Jane in 3 but keep the ball rolling. Spider man 3 have Spidey face Goblin and Lizard ending it with MJ's death, SP4 have Spidey mutate into the man spider thing and have him fight Kraven and Chameleon. Then Spidey 5 should be black suit Spider-man where he faces off with King Pin's bitches like Shocker, you end that one on a cliff hanger with the creation of Venom. It's interesting to see the look on her face when after he swings out the the window, and interesting that the filmmakers chose to show that. Is she worried for him, or is it dawning on her that as much as she loves him, he might never entirely be there? I doubt we're going to see Spiderman die- Spiderman's curse is that so many of the people around him become entangled in some kind of dark fate. I mean, half the people in the cast become some kind of monster or villain during some point in the Spidey Mythology. Maybe Mary leaves him, or maybe their separation becomes part of the plot (in the comics Mary Jane and Peter separated)- I don't know. Does Mary Jane suffer Gwen Stacy's fate, since she's her surrogate in many ways? Who knows? But I like the way they've taken a character who has a bubblegum reputation, and actually fleshed it out towards the suffering soul, because that actually makes for some real conflicts in the story.

    by teedadawg

    1) There were screaming chicks ALL OVER S-M2! Are you kidding me? I haven't seen that many heaving bosoms and open lipsticked mouths in a flick since Swedish Erotica's Best of Vanessa del Rio! 2) I don't have a problem with Dunst saying what she said, because she's not writing the story or script. So who cares? Gwen Stacy would be a cool character to introduce and her death (or MJ's) would be a great buzzkill to the love-induced high Ol' Webhead had at the end of S-M2. Anyone who reads the comics (the classics, anyway) knows Peter Parker can NOT be happy! It goes against the very nature of his character. The scene in S-M2 when the train passengers pass his limp body, very Christlike, overhead should have struck a chord. Peter Parker SUFFERS. It's what he DOES. And maybe mainstream America's not ready for this kind of character, but Raimi's chopped off limbs before! 3) The level of violence in the first two movies kinda lends weight to the idea that Spidey could buy the farm at some point, if only for a scene or two (let The Lizard off him and have Electro resuscitate him just so he can kill him again himself!) 4) Raimi and the powers that be at Marvel know what they are doing. Unlike DC, they trust that characters who have survived 40-plus years don't necessarily need to be Gen-X-ed to death! The first two Spider-Man movies were good. The third epic about our favorite Web-slinger will be fine too.

MJ never dies. She leaves. Period.

    by riskebiz

It's plain Kirsten still knows nothing about Spiderman outside of the 2 movies she's been in. She wants to do just one more? That's too bad, but MJ doesn't need to die ... because MJ simply DOESN'T die in the comics. It's like killing Lois Lane in Superman. Spiderman doesn't die, either. He may quit from time to time, but he doesn't die. She's showing her ingorance. If they want an exit for MJ, she will simply leave Peter for Hollywood. Probably over some jealous spat about the Black Cat or Gwen Stacy and that's fine as it's par for the course for Peter Parker. It's Gwen Stacy who dies on the Brooklyn Bridge ... not Mary Jane. Maybe the next movie has Gwen as Harry's girlfriend and Gwen kind of digs Peter (and vice-versa) and it drives MJ away and Harry (as the Goblin) to use Gwen as bait to try and kill Peter. I don't know about the 3rd one being the last one for this cast. I think Kirsten will be around longer than Tobey because the second Tobey is gone, her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhal (aka poorman's Tobey MacGuire) will take over the part.

    by em38

So what, Lindsay Lohan is currently only doing teeny flicks? She's 18 now and is bound to want to do different things...although I think Spider-Man can still easily fall under the term "teen movie". Personally, I think she would jump at the offer to branch out with such a high profile role (Spiderman now being the biggest summer franchise and all). And anyone that doesn't think Lindsay wouldn't be a FAR better MJ than Dunst, hasn't been paying attention Ms. Lohan in recent months. That redheaded stick of dynamite wouldn't have to act; she IS Mary Jane. In a perfect universe, Dunst would have been Gwen Stacey and dead; and Tobey would be opening a door to Ms. Lohan proclaiming, "face it, tiger. You just hit the jackpot." Even so, Dunst is the only one in my opinion who didn't seem "there" for SM2. Pay Tobey whatever he wants and recast MJ. Here's an idea for Spider-Man 3: Peter Parker starts a relationship with Gwen Stacy after the death of Mary Jane. Harry Osborne as GG murders Stacy to get back at Parker. Just a thought... __________________ And YES, I do want to see Venom in S3. Imagine the living hell he'll inflict on Spider-Man. Of course SPI will have to do the character entirely CGI. Just because Raimi introduced Dr. Connors & John Jameson in S2 doesn't mean they have to have Lizard and/or Man-Wolf in Spider-Man 3!

    Musings, gentlemen and occasional ladies.

    by Zephyr1988

She's just thinking out loud. Remember when Harry Potter POA came out, the three kids predicted their character's futures. Radcliffe honestly thought Harry's going to die at the end, the actor to plays Ron (damn, can't believe I forgot his name) thinks that Ron will turn evil, and Emma Watson thinks that Hermoine will probably end up with Ron. Now, really, Ron's the LAST character you'd expect to be that could mean he's right. And Radcliffe might be right too...and Watson also...LOOK, the point is is that she's just musing. Still dumb though. You know...I think it might not only be her, but Harry as well. Maybe with MJ killed by Harry, then Harry sacrificing himself to destroy Venom. Perhaps the ending of the trilogy could be tragic...where Peter's whole life is in its worst state possible...and yet he still carries on his lonely, cursed quest...if only to seek redemption to himself. I know some people out there will probably criticize the hell out of my idea...but oh well.

god help me, I love this site. The quirks, the rambling disjointed reviews, the spite filled posts of teenage talkbackers, all of it but these filler stories just piss me off. You had to know this story is ancient. I find it pretty hard to believe this was all you could find that was newsworthy today. Post funny e-mails you get from idiots or the nude pics harry keeps sending to emma watson, ANYTHING is better than month old filler.

She didn't even wanna do Spidey 2

    by Bender-Wiggins

I interviewed Dunst after the first movie and she told me that she wasn't really planning to do much on Spidey 2. She said that Pete Parker was going to have a new girlfriend in Spiderman 2 and MJ was going to have a minimal, transition role. Maybe that's what'll happen at in Spidey 3. Maybe Pete hooks up with that tall piece of piss landlordress...

...Peter Parker being even poorer, collecing penies from evicted Gramdma every three scenes, tripping on something every other scene (although he IS Spiderman...still beats me.), having doubts about his love for MJ every two scenes ("MJ I'm not sure it was right to tell you the truth and have you iron my costume every morning,it's tearing my teenage spider heart but (sob) I have to leave you again, don't try to call me anymore", fighting Green Goblin Jr. (Franco might be able to pull it, now that he gets to hide his (bad) acting behind a (still badly conceived) mask, and oh, yeah, may be a few well conceived action scenes with (hopefully) another vilain worth waiting for. Actually a whole new cast (and director)might reconcile me with Spidey at the movies.Out.

    Actress complains? Replace her. ...DUH?!?

    by Techtite

I hate to break it to Dunst, though she is not the "definitive" M.J. Watson. M.J. is hardly going to be "killed off" just because Dunst left. She'll just be replaced by another actress, the same way Batman was replaced...TWICE. What...? Did she think her supporting role was more irreplaceable than a lead one, or something? I like Dunst's potential as an actress though she really doesn't seem to be into the part. If she was she'd be willing to be in scenes with a pot-bellied Ron Jeremy in a Spider-suit just to be M.J. Watson. If she doesn't have that sort of commitment, fans deserve better.

    by zer0cool2k2

I'd love to see Patrick Stewart or Ben Kingsley come into this series as the Vulture. We'd get some awesome aerial battle scenes! Wouldn't mind seeing them do something along the lines of the "Kraven's Last Hunt" storyline, although it'd be hard to make it work without the years of backstory the comic had. It's also pretty dark to try to sell action figures and breakfast cereal with. ................... And EM38 is Exactly right in his post regarding Lindsay Lohan as MJ. In my head, I always heard that "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot" line in the kinda' husky growl Lohan could provide.

I noticed in Spiderman 2 that PP's professor was named "Doctor Connors." I also noted that he was missing his right arm. I also reflected on the fact that he is a fairly well-known character actor (Thirteen Days, Disclosure, etc.) Would I be mistaken in assuming that he is slated to play a role in S3? All you Spidey geeks out there, help me out here. Who exactly is "Doctor Connors?" Does he have a role in the comics, and if so, what villain is he?

    death to trilogys.

    by sabian123

First off to everyone that think that you can not make fine quality movies after 3 well you all are living in trilogy limbo. Spider man is not a dry character. He's life is really screwed up. There are plenty quality stories out there to build on. Its the directors that are chosen to make these movies that screw them up. Everybody wants to throw there vision of the character. Thats why daredevil sucked. Kingpin was white not black and in the end when daredevil broke his legs they made him look like a little bitch. Then theirs the hulk. Directors took a key character out of the movie. Rick Jones. He was such a important part of the history of the hulk. Now we come to spider man to great movies but with flaws of its own. Gwen Stacy. A key character to spidermans history. They had all the right ingredients for a not just a good movie but a great movie. Just think if that scene with mary jane was gwen like it should have been and she died. It would give more justification on why peter wont allow himself to love mary jane. Not to mention the goblin who is suppossed to be spidermans deadliest enemie. All he really did was scare the shit out of auntmay and failed at killing anyone close to peter. That makes him nothing more than a second rate villan. On the otherhand if these movies are going were it looks like then all will be forgiven. That means harry has to kill maryjane because then everything he swore at the end of pt 1 will mean nothing. I for one aint to keen on the changes made but have learned to adapt. So you wanna make Maryjane his first love then Raimi you better kill her because that death in peters life is just as important as uncle bens. Thats why all this bullshit with how he cant love anyone in the movies gets to me. He's just starting his career so what enemies. He had'nt build any yet. The one he had died. The two movies are good but they could have been better lets hope raimi dont bitch out and make three a happy ending because this is spiderman. He doesnt always get the girl and if he does it doesnt work out that way. People die because of the wrong decisions. He's always at odds with himself. But it always is about overcoming whatever is thrown at him. So this is for the people who think spidey cant go on after three. I know I criticized the first two movies but i did it again to explain why maryjane must die. If she does it will send shockwaves thru out the marvel universe and more. Raimi showed balls when he did away with the web shooters now will see just how much he really has because to make a change like that would be a surpise that would rival gwens death and put harry peters best friend as his deadliest adversary yet. It would make up for the storyline never given to the fans. As for a 4,5,6,7. Let me quickly reprase memories. Sin eater. Not a super powered villan but someon who killed a bunch of people as peter jumped out of the way. Venom and Carnage. Frankly Id like to see carnage but i doubt theirs any director with the balls to make a good carnage spiderman story. Namely because hes such a lunatick. It would be hard not to give the movie an r rating. Although with three good movies under the franchise who gives a fuck. People will still go see it. End one of these movies with spiderman beaten to a pulp with a to be continued. The kraven story. This guy fucking basically killed spiderman but allowed him to live just so he could know it. Vermin, electro, kaine, jackal, scorpion, lizard, ezekiel, magma, sinister six, firelord, black cat, silver sable, spider slayers, hobgoblin lizard, vulture, chamelion, kingpin .the rose, hammerhead, tombstone, captain stacey,Ben reilly, hey how about peters mutation. That could be creepy. Then theirs Tarantula, the rino, Morbious, madam web, shocker, jackellantern. So much that can still be put on film. Spidey holding up a building so everyone can get out as water ruches in. Beating a supreme bean he has no business beating. So many stories and you idiots want to stop at three. Just cause batman sucked and the last three supermans doesnt mean these will. Everyone forgets cameron once stated that spiderman would be his dream film. Just think what he could do with it. Or someone with passion for the character could. Raimi has not ruled out a 4. What if he comes back look at bryan singer he was supposed to do 3. Rumor has it hes doing four. Why? Because theres so much more to tell and these characters in the marvel universe have a lot more to offer. Any one whos anyone has read comics. i bet we all can remember wanting to run to the store to see what happens next and when you get to the end of the comic you had to wait till next month. The x-men movie and spiderman sequels did that theres no reason to stop. As for the actors that want to go on to bigger and brighter roles. Scared of being typecast. Remember when bruce campbell did'nt let peter in and he told him cause it ruins the illusion. Same goes for movies. When you change an actor you ruin the illusion. Imagine han solo or indiana jones being played by someone else. Luke skywalker blade. There can be more movies and they can be good. The illusion will be ruined but hopefully whoever takes up the webs next can deliver us a new one. The bond movies have managed to survive no reason spiderman cant. As for the trilogy fanamana. Star wars was good the first trilogy. Godfather,Lord of the rings, and indiana, the omen, and the matrix. It a new era trilamaniacs. Why stop with so much to tell?

  • I'd say Spider-Man 3 that Dunst is signed for, more than likely will be her last turn as MJ, mainly because her and Tobey hate each other and were barely even on speaking turns shooting Spider-Man 2. Unless she's offered 15 - 20 M to come back, consider the next sequel as her last.

I think Batman has the best but that's just me... by Triumph poops!

Really. Big deal if they DO kill her off. Quint tries to make the case that there are plenty of Spider-man fans who'd go apeshit, but who the fuck cares? MJ is only his girl in the CURRENT incarnation -- a continuity which you can bet your next paycheck on that Marvel will restart yet AGAIN the minute they feel it's gotten stale or more predictably, sales are off and they need to re-jolt things yet again, same as with all their other comics. In terms of his big screen incarnation, Peter suits the CURRENT fans, but for purists why can't Peter date secretary Betty Brant for awhile...or why can't MJ die and you just bring in Gwen Stacy? Losing Dunst -- who frankly was NEVER my idea of what MJ should be to begin with -- would only be a plus to me. And the girl playing Betty, Jameson's secretary, is waaaaaaaaaaay hotter looking. And you CAN'T tell me they couldn't find some blonde hottie sex bomb to be Gwen.

    by Prof. Pop-Cult

I don't care for Dunst much these days, but I can see things from her perspective. She doesn't want to keep doing this series, lest she fall into a Margot Kidder fate. Tobey probably wants to back out after the third. Maybe even Raimi, too. Three movies sounds like plenty for now in the Spider-Man franchise. Look at the Harry Potter series: Though the latest film is regarded as the best by many, it's so-so performance at the box office suggests that the general public is tiring of Harry Potter (and or maybe growing out of it).

Actually, the guys on this site who think Kirsten Dunst is pretty are probably all virgins or have at least never kissed a girl. She's an annoying actress who keeps the same annoying expression on her face all the time. She had a good performance in Interview with The Vampire and then her acting skill went downhill from there. It happens. And what is this crap about her having nice tits? Last time I checked, those shits were saggy. Another thing, is it just me or should this movie been named The Passion of The Spider-Man. That part in the subway train when the people hoist him up in the air like some sort of Islamic funeral and then promise to never tell anyone his secret identity, that made me want to puke. Pay $10 to feel sorry for Peter Parker? Ok. What we should really feel sorry about is that the poor bastard in real life had to climb on top of Kirsten Dunst. Would I reject Kirsten Dunst if she asked me to fuck her? Yes. I might take a handjob from her but she'd have to wear a paper bag and shut the fuck up.

Go ahead and kill Spider-Man. But.......

    by MikeInMoncton

The killing of Spider Man could actually work, if they brought Kraven into the story. If they followed the big Kraven story that J.M. DeMatties (sp?) did in the Spider-Man comics, Spidey could be 'killed' by Kraven at the end of the movie, leaving it open in "Spider-Man 4" to come back with a new Peter Parker and Mary Jane as Spidey rises out of the grave Kraven buried him in from the weird jungle potion that simulated his death. Fans could have a new Spider-Man movie with a fresh start after the first 3 while continuing the story. And I wouldn't miss Dunst either. She moderately improved her character in "2" but there's tons of actresses out there that could do her job better.

    by little kon-el

Is to just have Mary Jane walk away. They're introducing Eliza Dushku in the 3rd movie as Black Cat. A great scenerio would be to have Black Cat and Spiderman teamed up against the Hobgoblin, with Mary Jane mad that Peter spends more and more time with the Black Cat than with her. Peter fails to save Black Cat from falling to her death at the hands of the Hobgoblin. He defeats the Hobgoblin. Then he comes home to find that Mary Jane had left him...because now one of her best friends (harry) is dead and her boyfriend/fiance is not only responsible, but he's mourning another woman. That would fit with the pathos of the whole trilogy. - little kon-el

They should have Carnage kill off MJ

    by Dragonfire

I'm surprised so few people here have mentioned Carnage. I was under the impression most hardcore spider-man fans considered him to be the coolest villain. He definitely sounds like the coolest to me. I myself never read the comics, though not for lack of trying. I just couldn't get hold of any of them. But I watched the animated series and I played the Maximum carnage videogame. To me Carnage just sounds like the coolest villain of any I've seen in any comic book, and a movie with carnage has the potential to be really good. That's why I'm worried about these suggestions that they should end it with the third movie. They need to go up to the fourth movie at least so they can have venom in the third and Carnage in the fourth. Venom's just a stepping stone to Carnage. They should have Venom and the green goblin team up on spidey in number 3. If they do graft venom's character onto Jameson's son like the rumors say, then it would make sense for Venom and goblin to form an alliance, seeing as Parker stole MJ from both of them. 'Course, I take it hardcore fans wouldn't appreciate it if Venom isn't Edward Brock. Problem is Brock's had no set-up like the lizard and green goblin 2 have.

Neither one of them will be in 3 cuz Sam Rami dosent like them. There storys are to long to but they will start to develop Venoms Story so he can fight Spidey in 6. It will be a Venom trilogy. Eliza Dushka will be Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat in 3 cuz she is Sam Rami's fav for the part. I will also be glad whent that big ego greedy non acting bitch Kirsten Dunst is not playin mj anymore to. by jollydwarf

...I think that we'll see Harry as the Green Goblin or Hobgoblin in "3", as well as perhaps Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, and another male villian (the Lizard?). That's it. I think that the first trilogy will set up 4-6, which will deal with the symbiote, Venom, and Carnage, if they ever get made at all. The series should only have Spider-Man face off against his evil 'double'(Carnage) at the end, with Venom switching sides from "bad" to "good" to help Spider-Man defeat him. It's very neat and poetic and in line with the positive messages that this franchise pummels us it probably won't happen. P.S. I DO think it's a good sign for Venom/Carnage fans that NEITHER have been in the movie-based games as 'extra' supervillian bosses. Seems like they're being saved for 'future considerations' to me.

    by Sgt. Blueberry

Since when did this chick have an iota of charisma? This girl was hired simply because she had the resume while still willing to accept lesser pay at the same time turning in a serviceable screen test. Uninspired casting choice. I disagree about Mary Jane being the girl next door. I think Mary Jane should be an off-the-scale-hot bombshell. This isn't a movie about the intimacy and fabric of humanity. This ia movie about a guy with spider powers who battles evil on top of light rail trains over New York. If a guy who looks like Toby Maguire is going to risk his superhuman life for a girl (for no other reason than he has a huge crush), she'd better be a little more desirable than Kristen (Kill Off Spiderman) Dunst. Mary Jane's character busted Peter Parker's chops high and low, making him all out miserable, especially for someone he wasn't obligated to be polite to (He owed her no favors). And when she found out he was spiderman, someone out saving lives (including hers, multiple times) how did she react? Did the character ever say "Oh, I'm sorry, I feel so stupid. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time"? No. She just wnet "Wow, you're spiderman. Let's hook up, I'll be nicer now, since I know you're not just a deadbeat". Blah. I liked the rail thin russian girl. She seemed to sympathize with Peter just becuase he was a cute guy trying to make his way in life. I hope Dunst Dies.

    aw come on...

    by Dragonfire

So the hardcore fans don't like Venom and Carnage you say? That's a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing Carnage in the movies. Didn't Toby Maguire ask the fans at a convention which villain they'd like to see next and a whole bunch yelled out "Carnage"? Oh well, I think most of the other villains sound pretty repetitive and lame. The lizard, sandman, Mysterio, Hobgoblin etc may work well in comics and cartoons but whole films dedicated to them just wouldn't seem like there'd be that much different, unless they had several of them at once. If they bring the Green goblin back they're going to have to change his costume as well, and figure out a suitable reason as to why the costume changed. The green goblin costume ruined the first movie. And can anyone here who's actually read the carnage comics give me more details on the character? Was he not created by Stan Lee? All I know is that he was a psychopathic mass murderer who bonded with the same alien symbiote as Venom.

Kisrsten Dunst is ruining these movies

    by An B

She's just terrible. Her line delivery is awful and her voice is incredibly grating. And I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would be sttracted to her - let alone in love. She needs to be killed off soon! But the worst part of her performance was actually not her fault: that horrible missed opportunity at the end of the movie where she says, "Go get 'em, Tiger!". What that line SHOULD have been was, "Go get 'em, spider!"

Ok, it's pretty fair to say that there's a solid consensus among all fans that Kirsten Dunst should no longer be in the movies. I totally agree with the guy before who said Mary Jane who should be a hot chick and not some "butherface" next door type. Throughout the whole movie I couldn't understand why Peter Parker was going so crazy over this broad. That ending was definitely a cornball ending. I think Carnage is an interesting character but obviously Venom would have to be in the movie too since their characters are so intertwined. I don't care who the next villains are as long as they're not tragic nice guys turned bad. What's good about Carnage is that he's pure evil- a sick and twisted fuck who got his hands on the symbiote. Eddie Brock walks the thin line between good and evil but Cletus Cassidy is 100% bad. I wouldn't mind seeing Tobey Maguire go either. He's always been an interesting choice to play Spider-Man but it's not like no one else can do the role. By the way, Manute Bol is alive and well after his car accident.

    sp 3-9

    by nicalabas

There is no way they'll make 9 spierman movies! The only movies I can think of that ther are more than 3 of is Roots and documentaries. Spiderman is only so cool, and while the second movie was better than the first, it wasn't enough better to give us any hope of an even better movie to come.

Venom and Carnage arent good for a movie besides visual effects!

    by Spideyexpert8315

They arent good for a movie. As u hav seen from the first 2 good storys make the movie. Venom and Carnage arent that good of storys. Sure there great characters but you can also get great effects and looks from classic villians like Stan Lees fav Sandman. There is also Elector and Mysterio that makes good looks and good storys. Ppl wanna see Venom and Carnage cuz they dont know comics that good and they say of he looks cool thats why they win the votes and stuff. Real fans of the comics know betta. Carnage might not even be in a movie because the next trilogy might be about Venom and he will appear in 6 because the story takes so long to develop. Also for the person that said the line should hav been go get em spider. That would make sense but the line has always been "Go get em tiger" and they wont change it now. I would rather hav someone else play MJ thou Kirsten isnt that great.

Angry Rantings Directed At You. (ARDAY)

    by SquidJew

Okay, okay. I consider myself to be a person accepting of lifestyles. I accept gay people, cannibals, Communists (VIVA LA REVOLUCION COMRADES!), and even those damn WOPs. Before I start this ARDAY, I know I'll probably get kicked for saying WOP (you damn grease-monkeys, I'm on to you!), but that doesn't matter because I am SquidJew. Okay, where to begin... First of all, all you schmucks out there who are wasting my damn eyes' time by saying the Kirsten Dusnt is not hot. What the bloody hell is wrong with you idiots? Who do you consider 'hot'? Sailor fucking Moon? Maybe this is all pent-up frustration at the idea that none of you (me included, mostly because I've got certain ideas that frighten most people) will EVER get the chance of talking to someone like her. I don't know. Maybe you just hate her for some damn reason. Granted, saying Spider-baby or whatever isn't the best thing to say when one is starring in the movie, but Hell, she was probably doing that to piss you people off. And that idea makes me squeal with glee. Second: Those of you who say that Spidey 2 wasn't a good movie. TO HELL WITH YOU! It was a damn good movie! I know why you think that, yes I do. You think that cause Alfred Molina (Doc Ock) is a good actor. You putzes seem to have this warped perception on who is a good actor. Dunst may not be the best, but she's pretty good. Reading these posts makes me wish that the Cold War had ended up in a vast desert of radioactive Hell throughout the Earth. And yes, I know I have a choice to when it comes to reading these things, I read them because I hate myself. Occasionally, between flipping from AMC to Comedy Central, I have seen this 'Smallville' you speak of. Now, Superman is fucking gay to begin with, but that's another ARDAY. Yes, Smallville is truly a virus that should be wiped from the Earth in a wave of NAPALM, but to compare that to Spidey 2 is fucking retarded. If I ever win the Revolution that is growing inside my head (and God willing I will someday), I will celebrate by re-educating you schmucks in culture. You will be exposed to the great movies of Humankind (Zulu, French Connection, Jaws, and The Untouchables to begin with) and will be forced to read some books. Not the kind with pictures and little text boxes with funny print in them, sorry. Making a good movie is something that takes extreme talent, and Raimi did that with S2. Seriously, you know I'm right. Get the fuck over it. Numero 3: Those people who hate on Venom. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! What other kind of villain kicks uber ass than the 'teetering on good-and-evil/schizophrenic alien type thing' villain archetype? NONE! Except for Green Goblin, of course, that's only because Willem Dafoe was in the role. And he fucking rocks. Oh, and Doc Ock. If in the comics he was as good as in the movie, then he was kickass. I bet I know why you hate Venom. Cause his suit is black. Well, not suit, but alien symbiote. Whew, caught myself, almost got gang raped by fanboys. You're all racists. You also hate Carnage cause he represents the Indians. He's angry because deep inside, the Indians are angry at the white men. With good reason might I add! Four: This one is directed towards the dude who played Harry. Okay, he's good at playing the fucked-up best friend, but he just doesn't have the aura for a villain. Willem Dafoe can pull that off cause he just LOOKS evil. Rent Platoon and be surprised at the fact that he's a good guy. In closing for this section, that dude is not a villain. Yes. Well, the band White Lion is pissing me off so I must go beat something with a hammer. So to close this ARDAY, I suggest that you fanboys not think too highly of your opinions. Go outside and marvel at the sun. Adieu.

Nah Spideyexpert, here's why I think Carnage would make a cool m

    by Dragonfire

It's not just because he looks cool and because of the visual effects. I think it would be good for the story as well. There's an old saying which goes "the more evil the villain is, the more heroic the hero is" or something like that. Well, in that case imagine Spidey going up against a twisted psychopath like Carnage. The whole audience would be rooting for him. The thing which really made me respect Carnage, even though I've never read the comics, was these marvel cards I used to get. For each card, there'd be a popular marvel character on the front, and on the back there'd be another marvel character telling you about the character on the front of the card, usually that character's arch-enemy or love interest or something. For example on the captain America card there'd be a comment by Red skull on the back. For the Carnage card, there was a comment from Spider-man on the back where Spidey says that no enemy of his made him question his own code against killing more then Carnage. In other words, the hero is never supposed to kill the villain but Spider-man admits he truly wanted to kill Carnage. If they had a Spider-man movie with Carnage, they could play on that conflict, with Spider-man wanting to kill Carnage but realizing if he did he wouldn't be the hero anymore.

    Same idea as DD

    by Spideyexpert8315

It takes alot of time to develop the Carnage character. They might not make enough movies to get to Carnage. Also about the killing thing if u hav seen Daredevil he did that in that movie. When he was beatin up a thug the kid said dont hurt me and DD said im not the bad guy kid. By the end of the movie DD had killed every bad guy he had faced before realizin he dosent hav to kill anyone cuz he isnt the bad guy and he didnt kill Kingpin. It might not be good to hav a same concept in a Spiderman movie where he questions killing someone and how he wouldnt make him a hero.

Will KD's nipples be doused and erect in Spiderman 3?

Kirstens nipples in Spidey one for fake plastic ones.

    by Spideyexpert8315

    Comment in subject.

  • July 21, 2004, 1:36 p.m. CST

Yeah but it was pretty weak in DD

    by Dragonfire

In my opinion anyway. Firstly, the kingpin isn't half as evil as Carnage. Secondly, the idea is that Spider-man already knows it's wrong to kill the enemy, but he considers doing it anyway, whereas Daredevil just realizes it's wrong to kill the enemy in the movie. Besides, it's not like Spider-man's internal conflict would be the only drama in a story involving Carnage. I think the pure evil of Carnage would give the story impact. Point is, I'm not just some visual effects craving dumbass. Yes I may not have read the comics (though I did want to, just no where to get hold of them here) but I still respect the character and the story of Spider-man. I wouldn't want a film with Carnage just 'cause it looked cool.

Carnage not a favorite of fans? I dont know how true that is but he is one of the greatest villins not to mention scariest. Anyone read the the issue of ultimate spiderman with carnage lately. I also read somewhere that raimi is not sure where to go with harry. That he had finished writing spiderman 3. I hope he is trying to throw a brain fuck at everybody because if he goes and resolves it like he said in a recent interview having harry understand why his father was killed and then all his feelings faid away then both movies will mean nothing! Or he would just be a bother to spiderman. Is what he said it could go both ways. I dont see how . One and two have built it up. Everything in both movies will mean nothing. 1 and 2 have taken us thru part of a great ride but if three ends with peter and mary getting back like raimi hinted then i guess this guy really is stupid and knows nothing about writing. Harry already blames him for stealing mj,killing his father, taking his fathers love. This is all leading to his fall from grace. Its like having episode 1 and 2 of the star wars trilogy where everyone knows hes going to be darth vader because basically thats what all the build up is about then all of a sudden anakin doesnt. As for mj not dying in the comics well the kingpin was white.,spidey had web shooters in the comics, batman was somewhat built not some skinny out of shape fuck, gwen was peters first love and it was never about mary jane till gwen died and some idiot producer said that gwen did'nt have enough depth as a character. There writers give her some. I dont know who the lady was but i saw her on the making of spider man 1 talk about gwen. See the promblem what i most feared would happen. People who really care nothing of the characters having a say in what to do. Raimi has done good but i fear he might not be as faithful as he says but i hope im wrong. So ill say it again. If mj doesnt die and harry doesnt turn to goblin 2 which will be hobgoblin because, let me say this again so the dumb asses that dont pay attention will understand. This is the movie industry they wont do the same villin twice and as much as id love to see harry turn goblin 2 with the right goblin uniform and kill mary jane and beat spiderman to a pulp leaving him in a buling full of bombs, then come to his senses and save peter and die from a heartatack from the serum. WE WILL SEE HOBGOBLIN BUT IF YOU GO TO SPIDERMANHYPE THERE MIGHT NOT EVEN BE A GOBLIN. i HOPE THATS NOT TRUE FOR THE FRANCHISES SAKE BECAUSE THAT WILL KILL THE FRANCHISE!!!! oKAY NOW TO THE CARNAGE MOVIE THAT COULD BE BETTER THEN ALL THREE SPIDERMAN MOVIES. cARNAGE IS A KILLER. a TOTAL NUTSO. dOESNT ANYBODY REMEMBER THE FIRST ISSUE WERE SPIDEY FINDS A MESSAGE WRITTEN IN BLOOD. hES CRAZY. alTHOUGH HE IS ALSO FUNNY. VERY SICK SENSE OF HUMOR. i KNOW IM GOING TO GET BASHED FOR SAYING THIS BUT REMEMBER IN BATMAN WHEN JIM CAREEY PLAYS THE RIDDLER. tHERE WERE THESE MOMENTS WERE JIM REALLY LOOKED CRAZY. mOST OF THE SCENES IM TALKING ABOUT WAS WHEN HE WASNT IN COSTUME LIKE WHEN HE THREW THAT GUY OUT THE WINDOW. AND IN THE END WHEN HE SAYS HES BATMAN. tHAT MOVIE TOTALLY SUCKED BUT GIVEN THE RIGHT DIRECTOR I THINK CAREY COULD PULL IT OFF. MAINLY BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE SEEN HIN IN SO MANY GOOD ROLES. THE CABELE GUY WHEN HE BEATS THAT GUY IN THE RESTROOM. sHIT MAN IHE BEAT THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF THAT DUDE AND EVEN THOUGH I KNOW I SHOUD'NT ROOT FOR HIM I COULDNT HELP IT. jUST IMAGINE CAREY PLAYING AN ABSOLUTE EVIL CHARACTER NO HOLDS BAR. tHEN YES LIKE SOMEONE SAID EARLIER ABOUT SPIDERMAN HAVING TO DEAL WITH KILLING SOMEONE. THAT COULD BE PLAYED OUT. maYBE HAVE HIM KILL SOMEONE CLOSE TO HIM. i DONT KNOW JUST A IDEA. WITH SINGER MOVING ON TO DIRECT SUPERMAN AFTER MAKING SUCH AN AWSONE SEQUEL NOT TO MENTION ENDING NOW WITH RAIMI'S RECENT LITTLE REVELATION I FEAR MARVELS TWO JEMS WHICH HAVE SO MUCH TO GIVE WILL BE LEFT TO ROT .i PRAY TO THE MOVIE GODS IM WRONG BUT IF IM NOT HOPEFULLY STEPHEN DOES DIRECT TRANSFORMERS. sO AT LEAST ILL HAVE THAT TO LOOK FOWARD TO IF RAIMI DOES INDEED DO A MAXIMUM CARNAGE ON HIS TO MASTERPIECES JUST LIKE GEORGE DID WIT STAR WARS EPISODE 1 AND 2.
