Wanna see some stills and video from the new Jeunet/Tautou flick A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT'
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some goodies from the next flick from Jean-Pierre Jeunet starring, of course, the beautiful and pixie-like Audrey Tautou. Everything on the official site looks pretty! I can't wait for this one. Give it a look-see, why dontcha?
Hey Harry just thought I'd drop you a line from France every year, there is a promotionnal weekend for cinema, in general. It's called "La Fete du Cinema".
The basic principal is that you buy a ticket for the normal price (generally 8 or 9 Euros), and then during the three days it lasts, the next tickets are sold 1,5 Euros... I know, I know, you don't really care about that, but tha fact is that it draws a lot of "unknowledgable" people, know are not specially aware of the movie industry news...
SO... big movies, big money Warner Bors France has chosen this event to promote "Amelie" director Jean-Pierre Jeunet's new film "Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles" (A Very Long Engagement). The film is starring Audrey Tautou, of course, but also, Jodie Foster in a french speaking part, she has absolutly no english accent while speaking french (and may I say, Mrs Foster I Love You) so here is a few pics from the movieCLICK IT HERE FOR GORGEOUS CINAMATOGRAPHY AND EVEN PRETTIER TAUTOU!!!
and there is also a video, shown in theaters : the scene is about Tautou getting to the road before the car gets by, or else she'll not see her
lover again...
so there you have it...
Adrien
PLUS, let it be know, there are some great pictures of the film Studio
Magasine here in France, I don't have a scanner, so if any one does...
help out... show them Jeunet's wonders...
Thanks

and this one looks amazing. Cit of Lost Children rocks my world. Delicatessen is also one of my favorites, but you can only get it on VHS is the U.S. I will try to forget Alien 4.

or was there a helicopter in what looked like a WWI era movie trailer.
-
...anyone care to translate.

I will watch this movie no matter what. Even though I didn't like Amelie. And Jean-Pierre Jeunet works better with Caro. There is such a lack of good movies nowadays that I have to watch this one. And oh yeah, I loved Delicatessen and City of Lost Children. And oh yeah, Alien 4 sucked! hehehe

.....this is going to be so good!

I think that at the beginning of the preview we see a little making of, so it's not footage from the movie. That's why there's a helicopter...
And Alien 4 is not so bad... ;) -

And I haven't forgiven the fucker for it still, particularly because he still defends the fucking thing. Personally I think Amelie would have been a much better film if it had ended like Last Exit to Brooklyn.

Damnit is he gonna stop doing those trendy Paris-style romantic shit films til the end of his career or what? Jeunet was once a genius director who created La Cit

... was awesome - although it's not as good as Delicatessen, Cite des Enfants Perdus, or Le fabuleuxdestin d'Amelie Poulin. Maar als we toch allemaal in onze eigen talen gaan lullen kan er ook wel wat in het Nederlands bij.

The scenes with Pinon/Perlman ruled, the film was gorgeous to look at, and it was a lot more fun than Alien3.
It might not have been up there with the first two ones, but it was still way better than most of the crap we're spoonfed these days.

. . . a half hour before Prez.

I read the book years ago, and what was so special about it, was the fact that it was made of "letters" written by soldiers, wives. And Mathilde made her enquirery from her wheelchair, reading those letters, later tracking down the people who last saw her lover, who was apparently killed in battle. It worked as a book, but as a movie? Let's hope they don't turn it into a "Saving Private Ryan" type of flick.
