The Six String Samurai Speaks!!!

Ok folks here's a report from the Six String Samurai himself, and it sort of catches you all up on what's a happening with the film. The movie will be released to 8 towns to begin with in late September/early October. After Jeffery Falcon's report is some stuff I grabbed from the Sixstringsamurai.com message board where Lance Mungia, the director is answering questions in Kevin Smith style. I'm telling you, this guy is going to be a god you all worship someday, so ask now before he has no time to answer!!! So far SIX STRING SAMURAI is still my giddy fave flick of the year, it's pure joy. Oh, and just in case you don't think this concerns you, Lance talks below about how SIX STRING is chapter 3 of a trilogy. And oh god do the other two chapters sound uber-fucking cool!!!

Hey Harry!

Jeffrey Falcon here! The new site looks GREAT! Congratulations! I hope all is well. Thanks for the great vote of confidence with the film. That truly means a lot to us.

By the way did you hear, Six String was choosen for the Toranto Film Festival. We will be going in September. Palm Pictures is planning an impressive party with the Red Elvises who are scheduled to play.

Also if you'd like to let your viewers know the inside scoop of the film, me and comic book artist Rob Liefeld (now head of Awesome Entertainment -formerly of Marval Comics) will be at the San Diego Comic-Con in August signing 10 page "Preview Book" copies of the Six String Samurai" comic book which will be followed up by the official 22 page comic book in September all over the US. Palm Pictures has promissed a huge turn out for the collectors item first edition.

We also just finished shooting and editing two music videos featuring the Red Elvises which were intercut with shoots from the film. Chris Blackwell wants to get them out this month over MTV. Keep your eyes open. The two Red Elvis songs are "Love Pipe" and "Boogie On The Beach". "Love Pipe" is the CD single that they are going to release to radio stations (Via Riko Disc) with "Boogie On The Beach" on it's reverse side. The soundtrack of the film comes out nation wide on August the 25th.

We think SSS is going to open in Austin Texas in the first round of release (thanks to you). We got news from someone down in Austin that they saw the trailer playing in a theater. Can you confirm this?

Harry does indeed confirm this!

Meanwhile Lance and I are in the middle of meetings and setting up the next project. It looks like it's going to be a 10 to 30 million dollar action film with one of the studios. Sorry I can't give you the project/projects names at this point but we will keep you informed on their progress. I will tell you this though, it should be getting set up fairly soon...

You take care my friend and may the force be with you! And if there's anything you need just let us know.

Your "Buddy"

Jeffrey Falcon

And now for LANCE MUNGIA... WARNING MASSIVE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!

Six String is the first in a trilogy of films that is going to work itself backwards in time. In Six String, the last in the trilogy, Elvis dies and a new King of Rock and Roll is crowned.

In the next, (previous) two filmic journeys, we'll see how Buddy became the badass he is and how Elvis came to power during the early Soviet Occupation. We'll be exploring a Rock and Roll Civil War called "The Guitar Wars," and an epic search for Elvis's magical "Blue Seude Shoes."

It's a universe I can't friggin' wait to further explore. It's just a chance to let your imagination do just about anything and have a hell of a good time doing it.

We're gonna see hordes of bowlers in their bowling alley headquarters, hitmen Soda-Jerks, and maybe even... "The King," himself. Rock and Roll never kicked this much ass!

You should get me some of your artwork and let me look at it. Send me an email if you're interested and I'll email you back. I'd like to check out your stuff. Do you know Kevin Hagleman, who also works for Dark Horse, I think in their movie division? He's a friend from filmschool days.

Take Care, Lance Mungia. Director. S3
