Hey folks, Harry here on another beautiful day in America... And on this wonderful day, I happened across a couple of promotional items from the wondrous world of that manly man's man... Ron Burgundy, star of Dreamworks' summer drama about the hard-hitting world of 70's Television News called ANCHORMAN... After those rip-roaring hilarious comedies like CHINA SYNDROME & NETWORK, it's nice to see the subject of the news being treated with the proper respect it so honestly deserves.

Anchorman looks hilarious, though I really hope that it won't be one of those movies where we see all the funny parts on the commercials (Bruce Almighty anyone?). And to whoever is bashing Napoleon Dyanamite, it got rave reviews at sundance, on rotten tomatoes, and from numerous users at the ol' imdb. And the ads all over this site are a little annoying, but, hey....they ARE accomplishing their objectives aren't they? (ie. promoting the movie in your face and giving AICN a bit of cash in its coffers) It's hard enough to make money from a website what with massive bandwith bills and all.......be thankful this site doesn't have pop-ups yet.

That kid makes me want to puke. Who knows, I may have caught this on the Sundance Channel or maybe some hippie chick might have dragged me to it but specifically because of those ads I'm avoiding it like the plague.

I've seen a test screening for this movie, and while I love Will Ferrell to death, this movie falls short on.....EVERYTHING. Will Ferrell gives a pretty good performance, but most of the stuff is not funny at all, and the supporting actors in this movie just plain suck. Vince Vaughn is barely in the movie. Will Ferrell has to carry this movie pretty much by himself, and while his effort is good, the movie just isn't. The ending was horrible, the stereotypical characters weren't funny (a sports caster with gay tendencies....please). I thought Old School, Elf, Zoolander were all pretty funny, but this one isn't funny at all. Most of the test audience didn't laugh either, and after the movie a select few of us *me included* were supposed to discuss the movie w/ studio heads and the director. Well, I can tell by the bad audience reaction that they really couldn't handle the truth....the truth that the movie sucks and isn't funny, so they cancelled that little sit in. Avoid this movie at all costs.
