To say that this is gonna get killed at the box office is being nice...I liked her in the preview MUCH better without the stupid ears. She's at least sexy then. Add the ears, and I just see a sad imitation of the gorgeous Michelle Pfieffer from Batman Returns. And by the way, the animation of Harry in the Cuisenart is really REALLY gross...

I saw the trailer for Catwoman and it didnt look that bad. I have not seen this "clip" as i wouldnt down load Real Player because Realplayer sucks.

"Vidocq" was an empty plotless shell of a movie, contanining only a lot of childish pseudoimagery and some pathetic attempts to show that some French studio can rival ILM (by doing pitifully fake-looking CGI on with the "quality" that would make the original SFX team in "The Giant Claw" cringe). But because it apparently made money (?!?), Pitofrog is the Warners' obvious choice for their next big project. 'Raay! Bring W. S. Anderson to do Batman 2006!

Anyway, I kinda liked VIDOCQ despite the whole style-over-substance overkill but jeez this looks so bad it already makes uber-turds of the past like STRIPTEASE, Emmerich's GODZILLA and SHOWGIRLS look like achievements of artistic brilliance. Personally I cannot wait to watch it with a REALLY HUGE joint to help me appreciate it properly. They are marketing CATWOMAN as the next big summer blockbuster in Europe, btw, which is just hilarious!

I dunno whether it's a case of something that appears to be so bad (Halle Catwoman) making something else look good by comparison, but Catwoman's character in Batman Returns was SO screwed up. A cool, classy criminal turned into a sex-crazed psycho in a stiched-up raincoat with Adam West cowl ears!!! Putting spray cans in a microwave-- yeah, THAT's my idea of a Catwoman crime spree! PFFT! Pfeiffer was sexy but could have been so much more so as a more "traditional" Catwoman. Anyway, why do you all hate Daredevil? It drew on the best era in the book's history and hit most of the right notes, although Bullseye should have gotten the costume he asked for. As for Hulk, I weep for Hulk fans everywhere, it was the biggest wasted opportunity since Tri-Star's Godz---a (I can't even type it).

I have to say that comment about this being the "end of the golden era of comic book movies" had me howling with laughter. A bit like how the fading of disco marked the end of the golden era of pop music. I fail to see what sets this apart from "spiderman", "van helsing", "x2", "daredevil" and all that other crap where the fx and noise are cranked up to 10 and the script and direction dialed down to -2.
Anyway, I hope it *is* the end of this so-called 'golden era' of action movies made by Burger King lackeys & CGI shops and starring underwear models. -

There ARE white folks living in Africa, you know. As for CATWOMAN...let's face it, WB's finally going to destroy the recent comic book movie boom. Just recently they announced that the much-reviled Peters/Abrams/McG "re-imagining" of Superman will begin shooting by year's end, with Stan Winston providing a sculpted latex Superman suit (source: Superhero Hype). Between that atrocity in the making and CATWOMAN (a full-blown insult to the memories of Kane and Finger), WB will single-handedly bring about another wasteland for comic book movies. Does anyone really think that this movie will better our chances of seeing our favorite comics brought to film? If this movie hits, it'll only convince people that "re-imagining" is what makes for a hit movie and will lead to every comic book we know and love getting mauled beyond recognition (and Superman will be the very first to suffer this treatment). If it flops, WB will lash out at the fans for being "close-minded" and "afraid of anything that new and different," and Hollywood might get the idea that comic book movies don't sell (which is what happened after the last Batman movie). Either way, we're going to lose. And WB is going to get off scot-free, painting US as the bad guys all the way.

because this is what it boils down to: Halle Berry playing the role of a scantily clad super heroine who SHOULD'VE been played by Ashley Judd and SHOULD'VE had the name Selina Kyle instead of the this would-be porn fantasy with the yummy-but-disillusioned Oscar winner for getting banged by Billy Bob onscreen playing the title character. Even the 'getting-more-untalented-in-every-subsequent-role' Sharon Stone shows up in WB abortion. Quick bit of trivia: Halle played a character in the so-so 'Flinstones' film named Sharon Stone, now she's playing opposite the real Mrs. Stone in a film WB should've avoided after Ashley Judd passed on it.
