The WB Mulling WONDERFALLS For Fall Schedule''
“Bring her back!!”
Young Kristin Veitch over at E! Online reported Friday:
Wonderfalls Update: Though the ship may have sailed on Angel, there is still hope for another quality scripted series, Wonderfalls--which happens to be helmed by former Angel boss Tim Minear. Sources tell me UPN has passed on picking up the former Fox series for the same reasons they passed on Angel. However, good news: The WB execs have decided to review an episode of Wonderfalls along with its pilots, which means it is in the running for the fall season.
That said, time to rally before it's too late. Send your support letters (and if you want to throw in a little zsa-zsa-zu, some kind of animal figurine) to:

I liked that show a lot, more and more every week. I hope the WB picks it up, but I'm too lazy to write any letters. The only shows I watch are on the WB (angel and gilmore girls) and then Alias, that's about it.
-
Fuck Kristin. She was the one that said Angel was renewed for season 6 back early in season 5, and look what happened.
-
I watched all the episodes before they yanked it, and although I found the girl really funny and am sure she'll land herself a good roll eventually, I found the show itself a little boring.
-
I am so tired of watching the shows I like disappear. I think the show has more of a WB feel to it than a Fox feel anyway.
-
The po-mo cynical hip nihilist hippy thing just got taken a little too far.
-
I thought the show was dead for sure after only airing for 4 episodes - Yea WB (hopefully) if they pick it up. I thought this show was THE BEST on right now - it was so weirdly funny! I so looked forward to it - for each of it's four weeks! Hope to see the rest son - i had read that on the next one that would've been aired her brother was going to catch her talking to the animals. They were the best part of the show!

Uhh...sorry, I have a hard time believing anything she's reporting. Can anybody name ONE series cancelled on the WB that got a TV movie on that network? They said that one for Popular would be produced, and this never happened.
-
obviously the show was not "shit" if the critics all loved it, and fans are rallying to get it back. If something can stir people in such a way then it's of substance. Here's a tip: if you don't like it, DON'T WATCH IT. Seriously. THe rest of us can enjoy it without you. We really don't mind.
-
I'm still not the biggest fan of the pilot, and yet I can't stop thinking about the show, that fucking theme music, and what it could have been if it had been given time that most shows need to find their footing. Fox really gave up too fast. They only aired 4 out of 13 episodes, and never on the same night for two weeks in a row and up against other shows that were way into their runs and had established followings. Anyone who thinks that half assed scheduling effort should have been enough to make a hit doesn't know what he's talking about.
-
I really dislike this argument.
"Well, they said they'd do it before and they didn't so there's no way they could do it now."
A lot of things have never been done that get done. That's how things get done.
I enjoyed Wonderfalls and would enjoy seeing the rest of the episodes that were produced. If I remember reading correctly, they finished production on 13 before being yanked after 4. That means there's 9 episodes in the can ready to be screened. Nine episodes that FOX already paid for but decided not to show. Seems like a pretty easy way to save some money and get some critical acclaim on your sched next season.

And I hope the WB does give Wondefalls a second chance, (but I'll still ahte 'em for screwing Angel). And as far as the theme music goes, I bet it's one of the first things the WB will change, replacing it with some current pop tune. "Tonight's Wonderfalls featured the music of Blah,Blah, Blah... available now on the WB.com".

Reading this news, hope shone in my heart and a big salty tear of joy fell from my eye. If the WB does pick it up it will be the first good move they've ever made.
-
Great. If WB brings back Wonderfalls (and they could ignore the Fox trial run and just start with the 13 in the can - in the right order, please?). and Fox renews Arrested D-- and Enterprise doesn't get canceled, then maybe I'll keep paying for basic cable for another year. Now, is there any chance of any network realizing just how good karen Sisco was? (Boston Public? Boomtown? Skin?)
-
Especially if you consider the source, but that would be cool. Wonderfalls was my favorite new show since The Shield. Bring it back!!!!
-
Folks,
If you search the WB web site you can find e-mail addresses for Customer Service, etc. SO WRITE SOMETHING to SOMEONE at (W)asted (B)reath and try and save a decent show. Since I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 already, I know the animal I'd like to send to them...and it ain't a wax lion.
-
What a nut-suck that show was.
-
i won't watch it. i'm boycotting the wb since they killed angel. too bad, i kinda liked the episode of wonderfalls i saw.
-
As an FYI, as I understand it, we saw the episodes in the right order. They made a few episodes and then inserted some new episodes between the first and second filmed spisodes to clear up a few things that didn't sit well with test audiences. If they change the order, the story won't make sense.

Gotta agree with you on the UK TV. They may have some cheapish production values, but they make up for it with some great writing. For example I really liked the little mini they had about the multidimensional aliens invading earth they show on SciFi every now and again. It was what the X-Files could have been in the last few season if they had the balls to go out with a bang instead of a whimper and pull the trigger on the alien invasion (and also made some aliens that were alien yet still kinda made sense, unlike the Grays / Grays with Sharp Pointy Teeth / Black Goo / Shapeshifter mess of alien mythology the X-Files had. It seemed to sorta make sense at first, but near the end I just gave up and decided Chris Carter was just making shit up as he went along and had no idea where he was taking the story.

-Best new show of the season.
-
Did they not want any quality programing on their channel?
-
Every week after Saturday Night Live, there it is. Taunting me. Did the Species chick pull some awesome contract that forced them to continue production no matter how lousy the ratings are? I really question the Nielson ratings. I was actually surprised how many people I knew where watching Wonderfalls (I'd like to note that none of them watched Buffy/Angel/Firefly and most of them were in the young female demographics when means lots and lots of shopping doesn't it?). So hot girl star to eventually lure the guys since the show isn't Ally McBeal girly and seemingly a growing young female market. Why did they pull the plug so early?
-
as terrible as these shows are, there's a reason they are sticking around while better ones get cancelled, i'm not 100% sure of starhunter but i do know that andromeda is a syndicated series so that means ratings have no impact on it's stay since it doesnt belong to any specific network...so the show can be as shitty as hell and will stay as long as the people behind it wanna make it, i mean look at earth: final conflict...that show lasted 4 yrs longer than i ever thought it would..lol so yeah syndicated shows kinda have it better. I'm not an enterprise fan but if that show had been syndicated like TNG and DS9..i bet it wouldnt be on the verge of cancellation...anyway moo

I can't believe UPN will try to pick this up. Granted UPN's shows are incredibly awful and are below most people's set radar. This is awful. Let "Wonderfalls" die. This was not a good show, and it will never be. It was just plain dissapointing. I agree with what one person said UPN is for gay men or girls, but I'd like to add also for incredibly stupid unintelligent people as well. How many bad shows does UPN need to ruin or run in the ground? To me it seems like they never learn and never will. Maybe UPN will go belly up and WB can own them officially.

Orionsangels, your statement is completely ridiculous.

Wonderfalls has as many female fans as male fans and it has also had an enormous amount of critical praise. I think you might be getting Wonderfalls mixed up with Tru Calling.
-
The girl in Wonderfalls is almost as deserving of a slap as the girl in Dead Like Me. Both shows have at least another thing in common as well- they both suck tremendously. Why is this cancelled steaming turd still deserving of talkback, meanwhile a masterful show that hasn't been cancelled- namely Deadwood, has not had a talkback for episode 5 (which WAS among one of the FIVE episodes sent out to critics beforehand, no?)? I'm tired of hearing this harlequin piss and moan "OH WONDERFALLS OH OH OH I LOVE WONDERFALLS BEST NEW SHOW BEST NEW SHOW ABOUT SOME JERKY LITTLE MISS PRISS TALKING TO TRINKETS BEST SHOW EVER"... It's DONE. Get over it. This cowpie was the first burger on the grill before the party ever started and now it's basking there in all it's dried-up shit-spackled glory for even the hungriest of mouths to turn from. Ain't it Crap dot com.
-
Not to pick this up. Its a great show and a lot better than most of WB's lineup.
