The First All-Invisotext Post!! Shocking_Details of The ANGEL Series Finale!!

I am – Hercules!!

Wesley Wyndam-Pryce? DEAD!

Lindsey McDonald? DEAD!

Charles Gunn? DEAD!

Harmony Kendall? The Judas who betrays them all!

The final scene? A CLIFFHANGER (yes, A CLIFFHANGER!!) as Angel, Spike and Illyria are about to square off against the senior partners!

These come from spoilerslayer.com, which indicates they come from a source proven 100-percent accurate this season.

(Meanwhile, Fox News has been reporting since Friday night that as many as six “Angel” TV movies are now in the works. I’ve not yet been able to confirm yet, though.)

    If this is true

    by JJforever

Heck, even if it isn't true, I'm glad I stopped watching last season..ugh.

  • April 17, 2004, 6:15 p.m. CST

    Huh?

    by zer0cool2k2

I don't want crappy Angel TV movies, but I guess it's better than no Angel at all. Then again, maybe no Angel at all would be better if the movies won't have Wesley, but will have Eve and Connor.

  • April 17, 2004, 6:19 p.m. CST

Is there really a need to make it an "All inviso-text" post?

    by guerillatokyo

I mean, even if it is a big deal, couldn't you just say, "MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! Don't read if you don't want to know the ending this season!". Oh well, whatever.

  • April 17, 2004, 6:29 p.m. CST

    Errr...hmmm...but...why...logic...stupid...

    by Electric_Monk

100%? Everyone raise your hand if your can believe this. Harmony being a Judas, is perhaps the only thing I can accept. After, all, no matter how dumb she is, Harmony is still an evil vampire. Besides, she sold them out before. But the rest? Why kill off Wes and Gunn and then say -with no confirmation what so ever -that there are six Angel TV movies in the works? This makes about as much sense as an episode of Tru Calling.

...a thoughtful "hmmmmmmmmmm". Leaving it on a cliffhanger on the last episode with (as far as we know no absolute concrete deal for the future is just....well.....dumb. BUT - I'll put my trust in Whedon.

if they end it with a cliffhanger...

    by JoeStokowski

...i hope there won't be any tv movies. i like the idea of a series ending so openly. cool with me.

    interesting...

    by ikillninjas

wow, if this is true then, wow. i love this show and am most perturbed to be seeing it go. gunn has always been a lame ass character in my opinion. wes is awesome, his character [much like the dearly missed cordelia] has matured so much and really come into their own on this show. i have reservations about him departing, but if joss thinks its time, then i trust him. its been a good run, and the show has at least another good season or 2 of story to tell if they'd only be given the chance.... i'll wait and watch. -[ikn]

    I Don't Believe It

    by R_Nathan

I don't believe Joss Whedon would end the series with a real cliff-hanger. He's known to think cliff-hangers are unfair to fans, unless there's a guarantee that they will be resolved next season. I can believe several members of team Angel will be killed, and I can believe that Angel's battle against evil won't be over, but I don't believe there will be an actual what-happens-next cliff hanger.

  • April 17, 2004, 9:53 p.m. CST

Keep in mind what else the person posted (non-spoiler)

    by Kungfumanchu

Knowing Whedon,I wouldn't be surprised if all, some or none of this actually happens. Remember Xander dying in the original Buffy finale script? Herc hits the highlights, but you should really read the original post for the proper context. If nothing else, this one paragraph from the original post should be kept in mind:.......Before I go into the spoilers, I do have to offer this one caveat. All of this information is prior to actual filming, and there had been significant changes made already. While I'm extremely confident in the information, and as mentioned earlier I've received multiple confirms about the events of the episode, this may or may not be the finished product. Because of this, for now I'm only going to list the highlights and major events. There are still details that I'm not clear on, and questions that I have yet to have answered.

    And NO FREAKING BUFFY!

    by AnnoyYou

There is a God, and it's definitely not Joss Whedon. Thankfully, H/She's spared us the sight of Ms. Unbaked Cookie Dough's whiny, petulant visage! And that utterly useless twit Harmony is the traitor! YES! Now if only Angel and Spike would kiss before they go down and my life will be complete.

  • April 17, 2004, 11:18 p.m. CST

GreatOne, the show wrapped last Thursday.

    by AnnoyYou

Granted, some of this stuff may not make it into the finale, but the Buffy finale script I saw before the ending was filmed intact. And Joss has already stated that now that Angel's been cancelled, he doesn't give a damn about leaked spoilers anymore.

  • April 18, 2004, 1:20 a.m. CST

Jesus.... and I thought LAST season was dark...

    by My Ass Smells

*SPOILERS* I guess working for WR&H was a really bad idea. Cordelia - dead, Fred - dead, Gunn - Dead, - Wesley - dead. So, uh, who the hell is left from the original crew? Lorne! goddamn. I honestly dont think I can sit though a season 6 with only Angel, Lorne, Harmony, Spike, and Connor.

    Inviso-text

    by raffish

guerillatokyo wonders: "I mean, even if it is a big deal, couldn't you just say, 'MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! Don't read if you don't want to know the ending this season!'. Oh well, whatever." Arguably, he couldn't, because people will most likely be linking by the dozens to this post within hours, and other people will be clicking on those links without having had the benefit of reading the spoiler warning on the AICN front page. Herc obviously knows this, so he's chosen to endure your slings and arrows rather than those of the much more multitudinous masses who would be trying to crucify him at this very moment if he had written what he wrote in cleartext (or even with some kind of lame Usenet-style "scroll waaaay down" warning). Give the man a frickin' break.

  • April 18, 2004, 2:07 a.m. CST

    Connor

    by raffish

Worst major Buffyverse character since Riley, and with fewer positive qualities. In fact, the writers have gone out of their way to establish him as a whiny little bitch, and they're going to need to pull off some major fireworks in the final episodes to make me think that he's not better off wiped out of his memory and mine alike. Good riddance to Gunn as well, if it's true. Wesley I might miss a bit.

  • April 18, 2004, 2:12 a.m. CST

    Kill off Wes?

    by SPACE_BEER

What are you crazy? He's the best character on the show. If any one needs to go it should be Gunn he was good in the episodes where they killed vamps in the ghetto. He stands out like a sore token thumb. He was written into the show so they could go after the urban demographic. The only good thing about him getting "the law" is that he doesn't remind the rest of the fang gang that he's black and there not every 10 minutes.Let me guess how he dies Harmony vamps him then he gets sickle cell.

  • Wes has become hands down my personal favorite character not just in the Buffyverse but in anything TV/film/comic book today. I hope he doesn't bite it...but if he does, and its a noble heroic death then I can live with it. But the prospect of "Angel" movies w/out him is hard to think about. LOVE the idea of ending with a cliffhanger.

"... doubtful that FOX would entertain such an idea given ANGEL's ratings performance. Never say never, but it's still very hard to believe" Um...Fox has nothing to do with Angel, *Fox News* is simply the news program that broke the story. Angel is on the WB, and at the time that it's cancellation was announced, it was number 2 in WB's overall ratings. I'd hardly call that a poor performance.

  • April 18, 2004, 9:13 a.m. CST

Why would the WB prefer occassional movies over an ongoing serie

    by FrankDrebin

With a series, viewers know what day and time to watch, so you get steady ratings. With movie, unless viewers catch a promo, they won't know about it. Maybe it really still is a series, but they're just going to edit 12 episodes into 6 movies, so that they seem more like special events. Or maybe it's more economical to hire a cast and crew just now and then, and not pay them for an entire season. And how will the DVD release be handled--separately or as a collection?

  • April 18, 2004, 9:55 a.m. CST

    You people should know better!

    by MrBadd

I mean, come on! We already know there is a stupid ass bitch who intentionally embellishes their own stories and calls them ep summaries (witness the faux season premiere, which was "leaked" before it was even written). Since it is apparent the finale was just recently scripted but not yet filmed, I would take this bad boy with an entire truckload of salt! (Joss wrapping a show by knocking off half the cast and ending with a CLIFFHANGER?!? BULLFUCKINGSHIT!!!!)

    by Rapmaster C

bring Angel back for one more season at least! Don't start with the TV movies stuff. Let it end the way it was meant to end. As for the spoilers, the deaths of Gunn and Wes would be shocking, which makes Angel such a great show to begin with, so I've no problem there. But an AGONISING cliffhanger with Angel and co about to let rip on the Senior Partners???? Somebody pick up Angel! UPN? Somebody!

This series has been top notch in all areas. Just hate to see it end on cliffhanger. I would love to see a tv movie in the future. Deep down inside I believe it will end in way that satisfys. Looking forward to these last five episodes. Angel rocks.

    RE Lil Jon

    by Rapmaster C

If you hate Buffy and Angel so much, then what are you doing here? I mean, you call it a crap show, and yet state that you won't have any more headaches trying to read Buffy and Angel talkbacks. Why would you want to read them if you don't like the show? Oh right, you're just being an idiot. My bad.

  • April 18, 2004, 3:13 p.m. CST

    by Peter Venkman

Hey, Lil Jon, while we're at it, Chappelle's Show sucks too. Compared to Chapelle's Show, ANGEL is genius.

    "original crew"

    by HarleyQuinn12

The ending as stated in the post sucks, but as far as the original crew, they have been gone for a while. The first season started with Angel, Cordy, and Doyle in the credits. Everyone else came in later. Even Wes started half way in the first season. Still, this ending sucks.

  • April 18, 2004, 6:08 p.m. CST

    Why are you like that?

    by buffysboytoy

I am from England and I read these message boards a fair bit. I love Angel and I love Buffy. I think they are both well written...What I have noticed on here is that everyone constantly moans about what was bad with each episode and seems to think that the writers owe them something. I have been watching the shows since the begining (well Buffy from season 2) and the writers don't owe anyone anything. They have been entertaining us for 7 years, spending their time to make two great shows, granted some people hate the shows (why post on here if you do?) Why can't people just watch the show and just enjoy it for what it is. Buffy and Angel will always be two of my fave shows. The Season 7 DVD of Buffy is great BTW. I will be upset if half the cast snuffs it but thats Joss' decision. I still miss Cordy... Its a shame she won't be back. I loved her, her presence is the only thing missing in the show. We just had Smile Time over here on Sky One. I thought it was great. Shame about what happens next week. Well no doubt some people are gonna be angry about what I have posted... But I don't care... Just to annoy them even more... I like Gunn and I am looking forward to how they bring Connor back. P.S Has ALIAS been picked up for a 4th Season? We are on Season 3 at the moment

  • April 18, 2004, 6:13 p.m. CST

OH!!! I also hope they do the TV Movies

    by buffysboytoy

Whats not to like? Bigger budget, a chance to see our fave characters again from Buffy and Angel and we might get 6 of em... Can't wait.

  • April 18, 2004, 6:32 p.m. CST

To reiterate: "Angel" WRAPPED last Thursday.

    by AnnoyYou

That means last Thursday was the LAST DAY OF FILMING THE SHOW. It's over; the finale has been filmed, except for possible pickups, editing, CG stuff, etc. Tensai's sources are reliable, and although he admits that there are a lot of omissions in his spoilers and some things might be changed, his account of it is probably accurate. So...Angel is over. Probably a lot of the cast members will end up dead, but Angel and Spike will live on, if only in a Butch-and-Sundance-off-the-cliff way.

  • April 18, 2004, 10:30 p.m. CST

God damn Herc now those are some spoilers

    by Whedon

Definitely worthy of invisotext. Kinda figured Gunn was screwed after getting that brain upgrade but Wes's death suprises me. Does anyone know for sure if this really ends on a cliffhanger because the way I read it on spoilerslayer is that, that was all the info they had when Angel, Spike, and Illyria meet the Dragon. I have a very hard time believing we won't see the final battle in the apocolypse the show has been building towards since the beginning. Just my take on things.

I had a feeling that's where you were going with the Gallifrey comment. . . I've read the Nth Doctor (quite a while ago now). I'm wondering if you've read the BBC Doctor Who novels. . . There's something along those lines done in a novel called the Ancestor Cell. . . I won't be more specific so as not to spoil it for you if you're not familiar with it. I tend to stay away from novel series spun off from TV shows, but many of the Who novels are well worth reading. Closest thing we had to an ongoing series before the Big Finish audios and now (yay) the new TV series. Here's hoping they don't completely disregard continuity in the new show, but also don't get bogged down in it to the detriment of the plot (as with the Fox TV movie).

    Angel Finale

    by Big_Bad

This is my first post EVER so I am a little nervous here. I am not too sure WHAT to think about the spoilers for the series finale of ANGEL. I have read many spoilers over the years pertaining to both ANGEL and BUFFY, most of which have never seen the screen. I think the entire episode sounds excellent. Gunn will not be missed. Harmony double-crossing Team Angel is consistent with her character both pre and post vamping. I am a little disturbed by the death of Wesley, and someone on this page was bang on when they said he was the "heart and soul of the show." Not only that but of everyone in the Buffyverse, his character has evolved more than ANY other - more than Angel and Buffy themselves. He has been through a lot of the past few seasons and has easily become one of the most watchable characters on TV. It would have been nice for the episode to focus - or at least mention - the Shanshu prophecy but the way things happened with the cancellation of the series didn't exactly give them enough time to wrap everything up as they would have wished. It sounds as though there WILL be a number of tele-movies next year. Being English, I have no idea what that means in the states as regards networks and all, but the continuation of such a show can only be a good thing. When James Marsters talked about "tele-movies" in a recent interview, he kept mentioning that there would be "Buffy" movies, but I hope it was just a turhn of phrase because I would much rather see ANGEL continue than BUFFY. I can picture that final scene of Spike, Angel and Illyria facing off against the partners and it does sound very Whedonesque - especially if he KNOWS there will definitely be movies. I have to admit that I was not a great fan of bringing Spike over to ANGEL, but lately I feel happy to have been proven wrong. To Angel, Spike is like the brother you have never REALLY gotten along with - he's always around and at family do's and you talk to him, etc. but you don't exactly get on. There seems to be a kind of begrudging respect between the two and they have been fighting quite well side-by-side over the past few episodes. I would like to see their relationship contunie to expand if there were tele-movies. Plus, I would like to see Wes. Oh, and an Amy Acker nude scene. (And not from behind this time, thankyou.)

  • April 19, 2004, 8:13 a.m. CST

    So if that's true...

    by Spikes Brain

How does Gunn get out of the suburban hell? Who takes his place? I think these spoilers are mostly false--Joss has said in interviews that the ending is very open-ended, but I don't think killing half the cast and having the rest facing doom is what he was hinting at. Of course, I could be totally wrong...

  • April 19, 2004, 8:41 a.m. CST

Well, I HATE those spoilers, so they're real

    by Drath

I hope Lindsey's "death" is getting vamped by Drusilla and running off to Eastern Europe with her and Darla's ashes to be restored in one of the movies. Gunn and Wes dying? Shit on that!

  • April 19, 2004, 11:47 a.m. CST

    Wait a second ...

    by jgsugden

This is obviously incomplete or incorrect foilage if Amy Acker can be believed: (Amy says it "opens new doors" and "doesn't tie up any strings"). Two regular season cast members dead sounds a little too 'final' for "doesn't tie up any strings". I'm betting the 'fight' with the senior partners takes place and that Illyria's temporal powers undo some of the death and mayhem of the last episode.

  • See title, but just to reiterate: STOP THE FUCKING SPOILERS! WTF GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO RUIN Mutant Enemy's HARD WORK? IF YOU WERE A TRUE FAN, YOU WOULDN'T DO THIS. You know ME hates shit like this.

  • April 19, 2004, 7:15 p.m. CST

    probably correct

    by CookieGirl

If you read spoilerslayer often, you know they probably wouldn't post if they weren't sure. Tensi is usually correct. Note to Spike's Brain, Gunn gets out of the hell dimenson even before the last episode. I'll be watching it even if they kill them all off...btw, notice how the humans all die, and the demons all live to fight another day?...

The Eight Doctors was pretty crap -- the second book, Vampire Science, was f-ing great. While reading it I felt like I had somehow come accross a tape from a parallel universe where they'd made a series from the TV Movie. . . As for the sterile Timelords, that was actually established in the Virgin New Adventures series (which followed directly on after the original TV series). I grew to accept the book continuity (although I've long since stopped obsessing over continuity the way I used to). I've always prefered the Doctor as essentially asexual ("You're a beautiful woman, probably." -- City of Death) so the whole loom thing kind of worked for me. If you do pick up Ancestor Cell, keep in mind this is 2? 3? years on in the BBC Books series, so a lot of stuff has happened. I'd be happy to summarise the salient points for you off-list (off-talkback?) if you want, so as not to spoil anything for anyone else. Not to mention this is SLIGHTLY off-topic. 8)

    by QuentinTravers

This one could be true, but it could not be either. Herc doesn't get to view the eps on wildfeed anymore, as they're going digital from now on. So scripts, never the most reliable sources are all we have to go on. That and on-set reporting, which after "You're Welcome" we all know can be incomplete. Surprises are in store.

    Making Sense of it All

    by fenario80

My first post: This makes all kinds of fiscal sense. It's more likely they'll be able to make the TV movies if they have fewer expensive cast members to bring back. Maybe they can even afford Buffy, if they can pry her away from her *ahem* rocketing film career. And if they can't get her, they can always bring back anyone they want. Look at the two shows' histories. Speaking of which, hasn't anyone noticed that Angel has ALWAYS ended the season with a cliffhanger, whereas Buffy NEVER did? Unless you count that time she was dead, but that wasn't really a cliffhanger. She was just dead. I'm all for trusting Whedon to deliver an entertaining package. He hasn't let me down yet; unless you count most of Buffy's last season, but he was busy on Angel while Marti Noxon was mostly running Buffy. And who in the world reads this kind of stuff about a show they don't even watch? People with way too much time on their hands, that's who. Love you all.
