Kwame-rama!! The Live APPRENTICE Two-Hour Finale!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
Did anybody else see the hilarious SNL sketch with Maya Rudolph as Omarosa two weeks ago?? Or twitchy Sam Solovey turn up in the boardroom wearing his Miss Universe gown last week?
No wonder “Wonderfalls” fell!
Fox had moved the season’s best-reviewed series opposite NBC’s “The Apprentice,” which is unquestionably the hottest thing on TV right now. And hot, it pains me to say, beats well-reviewed every time.
Last week the Mark Burnett series was the top-rated show of any kind in the all-important 18-49 demo. (That’s right: it even clobbered CBS powerhouse “CSI.”) Tonight’s live two-hour finale should prove a monster of monsters.
The promos suggest they’re bringing all the candidates back. If I don’t miss my guess, the Donald will want to consult with all the runners-up before deciding between Loyola-educated cigar mogel Bill Rancic and Harvard-trained investment manager Kwame Jackson. And that could prove something worth tuning into.
And what precisely are Bill and Kwame vying for? Around the time the show started, the Donald told Howard Stern it was going to be “one of the little” Trump enterprises. Maybe he’ll give the winner a choice!
Oh, and if you haven't had your fill of "Apprentice" by 11 p.m., Howard Stern's E! show tonight features three of the hottest cast-offs: Katrina, Ereka and Kristi!

I'm going to rake the yard until survivor comes on, then I'll watch survivor, and then I'll play lineage 2 until bedtime. I hope boston rob gets eaten by a shark, I hate that guy (hated him the first time he was on too).
-
What a lying, manipulative loser.
-
God, I hope that someone, ANYONE!, tears Omorosa to shreds in the post-announcement "reunion". She has gone from "getting the benefit of the doubt" to being caught as an out-and-out liar, and deserves all the flaming she gets. Where's Soooosan Hawk when you need her?
-
Maya Rudolph was hilarious!!! She is turning into the next "Great Black Hope" on that show. Even Keenan (or is it Kel?) gets in some nice digs from time to time, as in the Janet Jackson concert ticket sketch: "Hey, I'm just as afraid of Black people like that as YOU are." REPRESENT, yo!
-
The winner (likely Bill, thanks to Assorama's "contribution" to Kwame's team) will be in charge of Trump Ice. Donald IMed me earlier with that little tidbit.
-
what the hell are you smoking. Maya Rudolph and Amy Poeler are to SNL what Lou Gehrigs diesease is to Lou Gehrig

Since Herc brought this project up on a TV talkback once or twice before I just thought I'd mention that they are going down in flames already: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-040414airamerica,1,1031586.story

Omarosa is to The Apprentice what William Hung is to American Idol. The White House job she's so proud of and seems to think makes her CEO material turned out to be a small position in the social affairs office, and her job mostly consisted of stuffing envelopes, and she ended up being fired from that job for insubordination. I predict Bill will win, Kwame probably lost as soon as he picked Omarosa for his team and let her do anything without heavy supervision.
-
I mean she really was ridiculous, and I have known many like her. PROUD , And always use the race card when they are the truly ignorant and most racist people out there.
Kwame will win this one, trump ALWAYS liked him from the beginning and he survived WAY more than bill did.

You missed one major issue there, Herc: last week's CSI was a repeat. The fact that the penultimate show of a popular series beats a repeat of another popular series doesn't really say much.

Seeing someone who is a productive member of society, and doesn't feel the need to live off the government tit, must be pretty emasculating to you.

At least something intelligent is going on (some of the business tasks they got were pretty challenging). Plus, if you're lucky, you get to watch a Spiderman trailer....Of course, I'm not watching; I'm watching Kill Bill tonight instead (the first volume).
-
The coattails finally got too short. And a big supporting nod to Imahosa for helping sinking K. Enjoy your "token position" Bill, and as for Kwame, maybe you can get a recommendation at Merrill Lynch from that skank Tammy. Out.
-
It's amazing how low these people stoop. So desperate are they for someone to listen - they take a swipe at Air America on A POST ABOUT THE APPRENTICE!
That's how pathetic these people are. It leads me to believe that your not wanted even by your own kind and are now forced to resort to this level.
Sad sad angry little people.

Could somebody remind me what "quality" shows reality TV has rep
by ralphus
As I remember throughout it's history TV has been mostly shit. For every X-files, Cheers, Buffys, Sienfelds and Hill Street Blues there are hundreds of She's the Sherrifs, Eight is Enoughs, My Two Dads, Walker Texas Rangers and Wings. Sure reality shows can be repetitive and uncreative, but some are fun and entertaining. Are they really any worse than the 50th version of a cop/lawery/doctor show? I don't think all reality TV is great, but I don't think it all sucks by definition. They are just modern versions of the game show. They will eventually lose popularity and fade. Some like Survivor and maybe The Apprentice will stick around and become Jepordy and Wheel of Fortune. Others, like Average Joe, will go the way of Card Sharks and only be seen on the Reality Channel. Meanwhile, no matter what is on TV in their place, 90% will still suck.
-
I was pulling for him, but I figured picking Omarosa would be his downfall. I'm glad the Donald called her on her lying, I just wish he had kept at her until she cried.
-
I can't believe that Trump made such a big mistake in hiring the idoit. Kwame was waay better than Bill. Calm, collected, trusted the people around him to do their job and didn't get FLUSTERED!! Bill looked like he was panicked at times. Man, with Bill running one of his companies, Trump will be forced to declare bankruptcy.

Damn she's a fucked up bitch. And I damn well be dissappointed in my boss if s/he hadn't dealt with shit like her- hell I'd think my boss would be a fucken pussy.

1) Kwamee should have been fired the second he picked Omarosa. I would have stopped the competition right there and said you're fired. Plus he never had a creative idea all season. He shouldn't have won against Troy simply because of education.
2)Wings was a great show. -
She falsely accused Erika of using the N-word. In the media, no less! That's about as low as someone can go. I never liked Erika on the show, but I was happy to see her call Omerosa a liar to her face tonight. Omerosa was a lazy worker, constantly making excuses (oh, my head hurts!) for not performing. And, I believe that she maliciously sabotaged Kwame with her antics in the final task. For all of her faults, she is not stupid, so how else could you explain her behavior? Kwame gave her a chance by picking her and she screwed him over for it. It's not like it would have been groundbreaking or anything, but it would have been kinda cool to see the one black guy win out of all of the contestants. Maybe that's racist on my part, but that's what I think. I'm just glad the world now knows how despicable she is and that any company would be foolish to hire her.
-
Kwame was given the second pick. In other words, he was GAURANTEED the last pick. The last pick was gonna be Omarossa no matter what. I think Kwame picked her early in order to NOT piss her off by picking her last. He's a smart man. A happy Omarossa works harder and better than a scorned one. Alas, she was already scorned and therefore tooled around on the job. I was pulling for Kwame, but he was screwed when he got the second pick. --d
-
Kwame's downfall wasn't taking Omorosa. Given the picking order, he didn't have a choice. His mistake was taking Troy to the boardroom two weeks ago. He had the change to take Bill out then by forcing The Donald to choose then. Given that they didn't loose badly renting the apartment, Kwame was in a stronger position. With Bill out of the picture, after the interviews last week it would have been Kwame vs Mike or Troy. Neither of those guys would have been able to handle it. Kwame forgot that this was a game first, business second. ---- BTW: What the hell did Sam do at the end? Did he give Trump $250k to invest for him? Omorosa's only gig now will be hosting Diva's Live on VH1 for the rest of her life!
-
...but I watched it anyways. I missed some, and went to sleep as soon as the winner was announced, but I still watched most of it. I am ashamed. It was a terrible show, that was likely fixed at various points(how many last minute sales from people playing to the camera were there?).
Also Air America is already back on in Chicago and adding Sirus, Dish Network and a bunch of cities(according to them). Even if it totally fails at least some of them are still funny. What the hell happened to Dennis Miller? -
FYI, Troy was the one that took Kwame to the board room, not the other way around. Troy was toast that day no matter who he picked, Donald made it clear he didn't want a young person without any college education running one of his businesses.
-
In most cases, I would definitely hope to have Bill running my company since he's willing to get his hands dirty in every job beneath him. As a result he's privvy to a clearer picture of the inner workings of his company.
While I believe Bill is a better worker though, I doubt he provides the appearance of a CEO that Kwame has to offer. Bill potentially comes off as Michael Dukakis in a hardhat, riding a tank, looking every bit the buffoon. Meanwhile, Kwame is regal in every walk of life. Not as hard or effective of a worker, mind you, but far more demanding of respect.
The Apprentice position likely leans more on the appearance of leadership than actual leadership. Maybe the Donald should have gone with the lapdog instead of the Golden Retriever. -
Unless you count chin ups and playing slap ass with Troy.
-
I think Kwame definately didn't do a good enough job for this task, because he was acting like how a boss should act in regular everyday work. Employees want a boss who trusts his workers to do their job, not constantly look over their shoulders and question whether or not they are on something. Kwame's mistake was assuming that the two ladies he picked were capable of doing their jobs. They both seemed constantly confused and requiring direction, and I think Kwame saw no reason to believe they were incapable in any way. Which, I think, is pretty much how a business environment works. You don't judge a worker's performance on-the-fly... you judge later and hope for the best in the meantime. So I think Kwame acted how a real manager would, calm, cool, and professional. He also forgave mistakes, and didn't know you were allowed to fire people during the game anyway. Forgiving mistakes is good boss behavior. A workforc e that is constantly on-the-wire, fearful they will face harsh action with any mistake, are not trusted to do anything they said they will, are just not going to be happy workers. They're gonna feel stupid and worthless! They'll feel hated, and that's going to show up in their work.
That being said, Bill's "Joe Stalin" method was the right thing to do for the purpose of WINNING THIS GAME. And winning the game, I think, didn't have anything to do with how boss-like you acted.. or how you did the right thing in a real "long term" situation... it only depended on how the outcome was FOR THE GAME, THAT DAY. Did the golf tournament go more smoothly than the concert? I think so, yes. If you remember, Trump's right-hand man said Kwame was gonna be better "in the long run", in those exact words. I think he saw the same thing I saw. But in the end, the competition was supposed to be about making sure their event went well... and Bill did that better than Kwame. And while Kwame would seem a more logical and safer choice for managing a company, it would not be fair to give him the job when he lost the competition itself.
what a tough call :)

I think every mugger in New York City wishes they saw Sam's case (with 250k of cash :-O ) BEFORE he went into the NBC building. Hahaha. Man, if I was in the audience and saw that.... *violent urges*
Oh and the muggers coulda said "You're fired!" as they shot at people. Hahaha. OK maybe I should take it easy now..... -
I saw a pic of it today - including that Amy chick and several other hoties. Definitely soft-core wank materiel fo sure.

I was pulling for you, and you blew it by not thinking outside the box enough to fire Assorama. I honestly thought your ploy to not pick her last (and avoid an earful of Assorama) was a good one, considering Trump fucked you with the second pick. But when she dropped the ball you should have either fired her or "promoted" her into irrelevance (it happens all the time in corporate America, my friend). Convince her that collecting tickets at the door is a vital job, or even tell her that Bill Clinton just checked into Room 1035, and he asked to see her. Then have Troy be the face man and Heidi handle logistics. You fill in the gaps. The cool demeanor is great, but make sure you know where Jessica is at all times--it's not THAT hard. I will say that it was nice to see you handle Trump well when he arrived, while Bill was nearly wetting himself when Trump got back from his round of golf. "Did you shoot well, Mr. Trump? That's great! Can you bend a little lower so I can get BOTH lips in your asshole?"
-
But he'll get a really high-paying job somewhere that will probably be less stressful and last longer than Bill's year or so. Osamarama will be lucky to get work at a temp agency.
-
Should have known better from previous experiences others had with her.
-
I remember him picking her sooner. They picked people based on who had previously been on their team in the last 3 weeks. Someone check this out who's got a tape.

by commando cody
I thought both Bill and Kwame did well in the final round, and both showed composure. The girls on Bill's team whining about him micro-managing and repeatedly asking them if things were done comes off as silly (and actually in terms of managements skills, pretty shortsighted on THEIR part when you think about it) since that WAS Kwame's downfall with Omarosa. Bottom line, I think both Bill and Kwame showed good potential and both deserved to be in the final round. Plus, I'm sure exposure from the show won't hurt any of them in the long run EXCEPT Omaroso, who is going to have to find a miraculous way to lie her way out of being shown on national TV to be a manipulative, lazy assed, unispired, and irresponsible worker. I think Kwame could have taken the prize IF he fired Omaroso right after she "lost" Jessica Simpson. Had he gone to Trump or one of the side Trump aides and said "Sorry, I'd rather fire her and have less people on my team since she can't DO the job and I can't TRUST her", that would've shown he had the right kind of managerial backbone and insight to realize that sometimes drastic action NEEDS to be done to get a job done. And for that, I think Trump would have easily responded at the final cut, "You canned that bitch because she screwed up the assignment AND repeatedly lied to cover her lazy ass? Good thinking to get rid of the bad apple right away. You're hired."
