Kellie Waymire Was On Monday's New EVERWOOD!!

Published at:  Jan 19, 2004 9:42:12 PM CST

I am – Hercules!!

Kellie was Brenda’s hooker pal Melissa on “Six Feet Under” and Phlox’s girlfriend Ensign Cutler on “Enterprise” and the wife on “The Pitts.” She was the mother of an adopted boy Chandler and Monica visited early this season.

Kellie Waymire died on Nov. 13, which must have been about ten minutes after this episode of “Everwood” was filmed. She was 36.

According to the Los Angeles coroner's office, she died from a undiagnosed cardiac arrhythmia, probably related to mitral valve prolapse.

She wasn’t the biggest star in Hollywood, and by no means the biggest to die last year, but she was talented, and beautiful, and big with the charm, and we should miss her a lot. Seeing her tonight was like seeing a ghost and I am again consumed with sadness at her passing.

Kellie's family has requested that, in lieu of flowers or contributions to charities, donations be sent to:

The Kellie Waymire Scholarship Fund

The UC San Diego Foundation
9500 Gilman Drive
La Jolla, CA 92093.

The goal is to create a scholarship in Kellie's memory to actresses entering the Professional Actor Training Program at UC San Diego. If sufficient funds are raised, a permanent endowment will be established.

Tonight’s “Everwood” airs 9 p.m. on the WB

    Sad to hear about this.

I'm glad this was mentioned here. Kellie was a very talented young lady and a wonderful actress (she also appeared in many of my favorite shows ranging from sci-fi to comedy). She will be missed but she will also be remembered.

  • She was great in Six Feet Under and did what she could with some of the other thankless roles she'd had, particularly that showcase of thespian skill currently residing on UPN that will not be named.

"Wahhhhhhh no one made a tribute to an actress that 90% of us haven't ever heard of so I'm going to bitch about it for 3 fucking weeks.' Listen I follow Hong Kong Cinema and I didn't have a clue who Anita Mui was. I had to look her up on IMBD . So she played the annoying step-mom in ' Drunken Master 2'.... . I hate that she died but she wasn't a known face to most of the public , while on the other hand this woman played parts on some pretty prominent shows. She deserved acknowledgment . YOU ruined a nice tribute to her by bitching about an actress who hardly anyone knew. what's next? "The guy who made the punching noises for DBZ died and no talkback?" Anita MUi died R.I.P. but dammit she would even say youre running it into the ground.

  • (wah wah wah wah!!!) But seriously, she was a really good actress and it's pretty sad about what happened. The thing that was weird was that it wasn't reported in the mainstream press until a week or two after it happened. Same thing happened with Jonathan Brandis who committed suicide either the same week or the week before she died. It was all like a secret or something.

Good point about Anita Mui. But what I keep tripping on is that Leni Riefenstahl gets an article on her passing but (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Elia Kazan doesn't.

  • Usually I try not to get offended by people opinions on these posts, but Sizzlin, you've really have got to get your facts straight. Anita Mui was probably the greatest star ever in the asian entertainment industry. She was mostly known for her singing career, but she also won multiple awards for acting in Hong Kong cinema. She was often compared with Madonna due to her ever constantly changing image. Jackie Chan, Chow Yun Fat, Michelle Yeoh, and Maggie Cheung were some of her closest friends, most of whom went to her funeral last week in one of the largest attended funeral in the history of Hong Kong. On the day of her death, almost all major newspaper around the world had a story on her passing. It greatly offends me when you would say R_T_FireFly was "bitching about a actress hardly anyone knew."

Both Anita and Kellie deserve honourable mentions. AICN not reporting her death is like not reporting the death of Madonna.

My condolences to the Waymire family. I really enjoyed her work in Enterprise as Ensign Cutler. May Anita and Kellie rest in peace.

This place is all about the movies, and that's great, but sometimes I think it comes at the expense of humanity. I mean, reread this talk back.

    Really sad to hear...

    by wungolioth

I don't watch Everwood, rarely do I watch Enterprise, but when someone said that bit about the Seinfeld she was on, I knew exactly who she was. Sad news for such a young actress to go like this, it's too bad the news came as late as this. About the Anita Mui death, also sad to hear, although I don't know her by name, I'm sure I've seen her face in something. I would like to point out, if we're comparing her to Madonna, are you absolutely certain that if Madonna died tomorrow AICN would actually report it? I'm sure it would be all over the mainstream press, but what is AICN going to say about it? In my opinion, she's never been in a good movie. About all they could talk about is the Resevoir Dogs conversation, and then talk about her awful movies, and mostly awful music.
