Word on ALIEN VS PREDATOR from Prague...
Hey folks, Harry here... Recently over at CHUD.com Dan Whitehead has traveled to Prague to do a series of set reports on ALIEN VS PREDATOR (1, 2, 3.) In that 3rd link, Dan interviews Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff about the work they've done in making and operating the Alien and Predator suits. When asked about their "updates" to the characters, they discuss making them more streamlined and/or powerful. Well, below we have a report that goes into that a bit...
Harry,
A good friend of mine is on set in Prague working on AVP.
Here's what he had to say when I talked to him the other day...
There are MAJOR problems with the creatures. The Predator suits are so big
and so heavy, that the actors cannot perform in them, and are getting tired out
very quickly.
They were made so incredibly huge and muscular, that there's literally 4, and
in some places, 5 inches of foam rubber on the costumes, and that's before
all the armor goes on it.
Apparently, Amalgamated Dynamics (the company who made the creatures for the
film) wanted to approach making the suits differently than what had been done
previously at Stan Winston's. All of the armor was made separately, and is
added on once the actor is in the already incredibly bulky, ridiculous looking
suit.
He also said the all the creature stuff in general looks really crappy
and thrown together, the Aliens are all painted silver, and even though most of
the actors playing Predators are like 7 feet tall, they all look like giant m
idgets because they are so bulky and they can barely walk, let alone fight and
jump around like Predators. Rumor has that Paul Anderson is seriously
considering replacing a lot of what was built with CGI.
From what he told me, everyone on the set stands around saying how great
everything looks while they're in front of the director and the producers, then
they cringe at how terrible it all really looks when they walk away.
I'm not getting my hopes up for this at all, looks like its going to be a
real train wreck. Has this director ever made a good movie?Ouch -- As much as I hate Paul W.S. Anderson's movies, I have to admit the guy certainly can talk a good game. That interview with him by Dan at CHUD... well, the man's talking HELL IN THE PACIFIC and does a great analyzing of why ALIEN, ALIENS and PREDATOR work so damn well and why the rest didn't. But even if the monkey can see, can he do? Ultimately that's the question I have. I'll never forget how wonderful his pre-film interviews were on SOLDIER and EVENT HORIZON - and I absolutely hated those movies... and at least with SOLDIER he started with a GREAT SCRIPT and LEAD ACTOR... We'll see.

A friend of mine came out of matrix revolutions talking shit about how shitty the movie was then looked at the poster of AvP and said "now thats a real movie" I swear to go I felt like kicking his ignorant ass,
I cannot wait to see this movie bomb, Anderson is a fucken HACK that makes shitty movies, and he has a proven track record of mediocricy so what makes anybody think he's gonna pull it off with this one.
FuCk AvP -
he's obviously good at talking himself into jobs and getting things made. he should be a producer. his films as director have been the worst of any high profile Hollywood director - he just has awful 'vision'.

Never mind these lame franchise collaborations by men in suits who've no idea about the genre of these films. If your gonna make a 'third' Predator movie they should of done it years ago when people actually gave a shit.As for Aliens, you can only flog a dead horse so much before it starts to decompose and stink to high heaven. Have non of these film studio executives got any real 'original ideas' anymore? Or do they all have to rely on standing on the shoulders of others to make some money these days.
Every time you check on AICN, it's 'remake this, rehash that, combine this story with that one to make this movie..@ Its all shite, and it's all too lazy.Ee all know even before it hits the screens that A v P is gonna reek. The plot will resemble something from an episode of Stargate SG1 and be an insult to all who buy a ticket to watch it.
Switch off the cameras now Anderson, rip up the script and stop trying to live in the past, you missed that gravy train already! -
Even if only FOX will make another Aliens vs Predator game. Aliens vs Predator two rocked, and the multi-player was incredible fun. Hate to see this screwed up because the movie bombs.
I also want to see an Alien 5, something that explores the origins of the Aliens, and maybe takes the series to decent closure.
Ah well, wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first... -

It's still a dodgy idea handing the reigns over to Anderson but I think this tidbit, if true, comes from a hater with no real clue as to how shitty some things look in life compared to how good they look in camera. ADI have produced some fine work before and I've seen the difference the camera makes to a lousy looking prop when you it reaches the screen. The trouble with non movie types is they expect everything to look real and functional when it's just hanging on a rack or lying on the floor in the props room. I think this movie is going to be fun, not brilliant, but good solid fun. And with a title and concept like Aliens vs Predator that's all anyone could realistically hope for. Sure I too would have preferred Randy Stradley's comic come to life or a wordless visual feast with Aliens and Predators redesigned by Ricardo Delgado but studios aren't that adventurous with their properties so this will just have to do, for now.
-
Did anyone read the original darkhorse aliens vs. predator comic series? (It was later reprinted as a graphic novel). What a fantastic story, good characters, and an interesting take on the mix, set on a desert world rather than this bullshit about anarctica on earth. I hate seeing potentially good projects absolutely ruined, and based on the comic this could have been GREAT. It makes me sad.
-
Sounds like bullshit to me. Over-eager hate-mongering. Sure, the film may end up sucking, but this "inside" rumor reeks of falsehood. Besides, anyone see how horribly the first predator design looked before they scrapped it? If the costumes truly are this wretched, they will be replaced or fixed. Say what you like about Anderson's films, but they're not lacking in terms of production design and decent special effects. Again, if this thing fails, it won't be because of something as tangible as alien and predator costumes.

I don't think this guy is actually on the set, I think he's just taking the original problems with the costume and rehashing it. -
I've been waiting so long to see this movie happen. Years ago, when Dark Horse Comics came out with the first series, I was angry to find out that the movie would never happen because of "legal red tape"; so in other words, there were lawyers out there keeping it from us. Now the red tape is gone, but the project's been given to someone who apparently isn't good at making movies? WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THIS???? If the Aliens are silver or this movie is a bomb for any other reason I'm asking for my money back, and I encourage you all to do the same. If we, as movie goers, do this more often maybe well stop seeing this kind of irresponsiblility with the stuff we care about.
-
1st off, great idea, I'm sure the movie studios will write out a bunch of checks and learn their lesson, dont forget to add $5 for the popcorn too.
2nd, whether or not this is true about costume problems and all that shit, I think its irrelevent. The plot summary at IMDB is:
During an archaeological expedition in Antartica, a team of scientists and archaeologists find themselves caught up in a battle between a hive of aliens and five teenage predators. Soon, the team realise that only one species can win.
Soooooo basically this movie is doomed because it has to suck if they feel the need to specify that these are FUCKING TEENAGE predators. WTF I don't care what age they are. What is this about, are they gonna be thinking about fucking chicks and smoking weed while killing the brilliantly silver aliens. This movie already sucks. -
[In the trophy rooom in Predator 2, that 'Alien' skull looked like it was made of bone. Aren't the creatures supposed to be composed of some kind of silicate?]
I'd say just because it LOOKS like it's made of something doesn't mean it actually IS.
[It also had numerous other slight differences. Sure, it's elongated, but still...*makes nattery nerd noises*.]
If you were as nerdy as you think, you'd know that Aliens who reproduce through one type of organism can have significantly different physiology from ones that reproduce through another. Aliens that come out of dogs are smaller and run around on all fours (like in Alien3) - ones that come out of Predators have those weird Predator jaws, etc.
I don't even want to think about what would happen if one came out of Harry...
-

...it still has my eight bucks. 'cause thats just how I'm livin', yo. Word.
-
I thought that was what the series was about after Ripley, Newt, and Hicks died in Alien 3. I think seeing the cat sitting triumphantly atop the arctic hive licking his paw will bring closure to the franchise. Especially if the end credits have a techno soundtrack like Resident Evil. That would be sweet.
-
This is gonna suck donkey balls.
-
Thanks for clearing that up for me Grendel, I'll sleep better tonight. I obviously haven't yet earned my nerd stripes. I was merely pointing out that it doesn't really resemble an Alien that much except for its length, and yet Anderson seems to treat this little inclusion (which seems more than anything like a little in-joke to me) as one of many dubious excuses to base an entire movie on. But alas, I've frustrated you with my ignorance. I sincerely apologise, and hope that we can clear the air the next time matters as important as these arise again.

*Yawn*...yet another "franchise" that's been run into the ground
by the flashlight
Only Alien and Aliens exist for me - the rest are persona non grata. Which is why I won't be purchasing Alien Quadrilogy. Why should I pay extra for two films I care nothing about? They can add to Alien 3 all the extra footage that's been lining the studio's bird cages they want and it still won't transform that reprehensible piece of shit into something respectable. Killing off Newt and Hicks off-screen and thereby invalidating everything that had happened in Aliens represents one of the worst decisions in the history of film - a total betrayal and an unforgivable sin.
-
Do you think MAYBE the silver is just so they will show up better on film? Or that they were used for a Predator vision scene? Like, the silver Aliens were painted silver so the CG animators can see them more clearly and add the weird Pred-o-vision effects to them?
And there's a shot of a Pred out there, I've sen it. it's a full body promotion pic. It DOES look kind of bulky, not as athletic looking as the ones from the other 2 films... but it certainly doesn't look like a midget in a suit. -
This movie will be much better than the last 45 minutes of ROTK
-
I'm willing to give Anderson a chance. He said in his interview that the Aliens will be shown mainly in the shadows. From a lighting standpoint painting them silver would make sense. You will only see the high lights anyways, the rest will still be seen as black.
-
Whichever Fox exec who was sold on "Let's give AVP to this no-talent hack who's consistently ruined every film he's ever touched" should be taken out and shot. The only thing that could be worse would be giving "I am Legend" to Michael Bay and having it star Will Smith... Oh F**k me!

Paul Anderson should retire, save all of us the energy we expell hating him, and just spend his days playing video games (imagining making very bad movies from them) and banging Milla Jovovitch. Is that oo much to ask?

I was watching my Alien Quadrilogy boxset and people were saying, in closing, that they would like to do another movie, explore the genre a bit more - and I sat there thinking 'not if AvP kills the franchise first, you won't'. Mr. Anderson - there's a lot riding on this, dude. Leave that Welsh tart alone and concentrate on the film, bub, and try not to fuck it up. I don't usually judge movies and moviemakers before I see the finished product for myself (I'm not that shallow) but for Christ's sake, you screw this up and I'll attach jumpleads to your nipplenuts.

Shallow, Hell! Look at his history!
-
But I think most of Pete Jackson's earlier stuff (apart from Heavenly Creatures) is shite. I always hold out hope for directors (they might wake up one morning and say 'hold on - I'm really shit at this') especially when they deal with stuff I like. I guess I just like my glass half-full. His earlier stuff is a little hacky, but I don't have a problem with Anderson. Yet.
-
Any proof of this, of is it just pulled out from your butt?

RE wasn't that bad and, comparatively speaking, was probably the best game to film conversion to date.
Harry's bias against people who he takes against is almost as sickening as his bias for those directors up whose fudge tunnels he has his tongue firmly planted.
Even if this film turns out to be poor I won't HATE Paul Anderson and I suggest anybody who hates him because of his films needs to grow up a bit. Start off with something simple like kissing a girl, a whole world of grown up wonder awaits you. -
His movies aren't great, but I've seen worse. Waaay worse.

Aliens didn't work because Ridley held back the image of the aliens to the last possible momement (1hour, 10minutes for the big battle). That's the DUMBEST thing I ever heard. We didn't get to see the Dragon in Dragonslayer until the last 10 minutes either (and that movie, for the most part, blew chunks). Aliens rocked because we all got to see something that we've never seen before: Space Marines versus a heap of Aliens. In other words, the best that humans can muster (knock down, drag out, tough as nails, God bless em MARINES) versus the meanest Mofo Alien we ever saw on screen and about 100 of his brothers and sisters. It worked because of boxy space tanks that looked indestructible but ended up getting trashed in the retreat. It worked because of menacing space loaders that impressed as tools and equaled the playing field as a weapon against the big Momma. It worked because of sweet machine gun/grenade launchers that were duplicated in every FPS game for years to come. It worked for lines like, "EAT THIS", where I was instantly cheering at the screen with satisfaction, and then, not a moment later, terrified as the acid burned through Hicks' armor. DUDE: It worked because neither side pussed out by 'cleverly' outwitting the other. It worked becuase both sides gave it the best shot they could. It was war. It was brutal. It was AWESOME! Do something cool with this movie. Show us something new and bad ass. Show us something to get excited about. Show us something like this, and we will come.
-
Hate to be one of those "Shut-up Already" types but...Shut-up already! Most of you are so ready to slam a movie before it even gets off the ground it makes me question how you make decisions in life! Some schmuck claims he has an inside track on the thickness of foam rubber and so many of you are ready to bail on this film? Are you shitting me? I am all for better story writing in Sci-Fi and Horror films, OK, but for the sake of all that is Carpenter, try supporting the effort. You are so ready to sell out these films before you even see them it's pathetic. Honestly, Anderson has brought some pretty cool vision to some pretty cool movies. Were they the best? No. But I'm glad a Resident Evil and a Starship Troopers was made! I used to give some credibility to the people who wrote comments in these talk backs, then I started comparing my opinion to what I was reading and found most of you lacking. Its as if you just need something to complain about. Doesn't matter what it is, just put it down. And if you can be clever about it; all the better! Its a shame, really. When you think about the fact that studio insiders read your comments. And since so many of your strongest comments are founded on whisper thin information and hear-say, what a poor representation of the fanbase! So, I'm bored with your criticisms, shut-up already and good-day. (By the way, Merrry Christmas!)

You guys haven't heard about the changes to the Alien and Predator designs? I guess you missed that interview Anderson did with New Modern Parent magazine.
NMP: So, Paul, may I call you Paul.
PWSA: Certainly.
NMP: This new Aliens vs. Predator movie, what's it all about.
PWSA: Well, it's an action movie first. But I thought, since the studio's shooting for a PG-13 to open up the audience prospects, I thought I would say something to the young people.
NMP: And how do you expect to do that.
NMP: Well, I'm a big fan of the "Alien" franchise as a whole. In the first Alien movie, director Rydell Scott chose to emphasize the horror and sexual imagery of the Alien. In the second film, "More Aliens", James Carpenter chose to pit the aliens against a group of hardened Space Cops. The series has fallen off a bit with Damon Felcher's "Aliens Cubed" and that one by the Spanish guy.
NMP: What about the Predator?
PWSA: I'm really excited about the predator, because it's always been portrayed as a "manly" kind of macho creature. I wanted to look at that issue from a societal point of view. I designed the suits to be much bulkier this time around, to the point where the predators seem "muscle-bound". That's because all the predators, because of societal pressures on their homeworld, are on performance enhancing drugs. They're just surly due to "roid rage".
NMP: Do you look at the alien society?
PWSA: Yes, I think there are lessons there as well. The aliens for my film have changed from the black color they've been for the last four movies to a new silvery color... because silver is the new black. The aliens are a collective, like ants, and everyone has jumped on the new "silver look". Except one sad, lonely alien, who is still black. The other aliens treat him horribly, and you get to see the emotional side of the aliens. They're not just mindless killing machines... they have feelings too.
NMP: So true. Do you have any closing statements for the 14-18 year-old demographic.
PWSA: Sure... I think we can all learn from the predators and the aliens. Stay off drugs, and learn to be yourself. -
It comes down to weather you trust someone to tell you the truth about this, Dan Whitehead who at least was on in Prague or weather to believe someone who you`ve never heard of(and secondhand as well) like this Chief Chirpa.....Dan is a fan if he had seen this crap he would told us.....

Nahhh... that script wasn't great. shit, even the premise was pss poor. I wonder if Harry could have made that script into a good film. And I do recall seeing Paul Anderson give a internet pitch - showing his goal for the AVP film, and his love of both franchises... and some cool shit he had planned... and I was sold in a 'yeah, why the hell not' kinda way. If every single person does nothing but post the same thing (i.e. how much Anderson is a hack and how bad AVP is gonna be) the talkbacks are boring as hell. Just for the record, I'm not saying that AVP is gonna be great, but a lot of you people need to get new adjectives to describe something you don't like. SUCKS just doesn't do it anymore. You all sound stupid when you say AVP is gonna SUCK. Will it be great? Most likely not. But in the SUCKS category I can give you a crapload of movies that I guarantee you suck more than AVP will. How about anything with Rob Schneider? Or any of the last 5 Adam Sandler movies? Or XLG? Or Hart's War? Biker Boyz? Too Fast Too Furious? Tears of the Sun? Shall I go on? Open a dictionary you chumps and find a new adjective. Or at least try to come up with certain degrees of suckage. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I heard one of the predator youths in the movie turns out to be gay and the other predators start to cry and hug. Then the aliens come out and make everyone feel better with a love song. Then the entire site is nuked from orbit. The end.

Again I call bullshit on this "scoop." I just read the CHUD stuff on AvP, and if anything, I'm more excited than before. There is nothing in those set reports that indicates anything but dedication, respect, professionalism and above all enthusiasm in the production of this film. Sure, it may end up being a rubbish movie -- but you're nothing but sad, sad cellar pullers if you start bitching about it now. Instead of concentrating on the one big thing you think might sink the project (Anderson), why not concentrate on all the cool factors involved -- like Lance Henriksen, the fact that it does nothing to rupture continuity in either franchise, and the effects people involved? Speaking of which, here's a quote from one of the reports which does nothing to substantiate the blatantly false rumors of immobile rubber suits: "What we

I read a book by Chris Jones called The Guerrilla Film Maker's Guide where his 'associate' Jeremy Bolt stated that Anderson lied about his credits and THEN ADVOCATES PLAIGIARISM TO GET STARTED IN HOLLYWOOD.
Yes. That's right. producer Jeremy Bolt states QUITE CLEARLY that "You just cut the titles off another movie, pass it off as your own" to attract an Agent.

You all bite the purple havanna -- each and every one of you haters. Kill yourselves. Please. Mr. Anderson, you've got my ass in a seat when this thing opens. Don't listen to these losers, just do what you have to do to get this thing made. Most of us are with you.

I get the impression that many of you are devoted Alien/Predator fans, and are aghast that this potentially cool project is in the hands of a 'hack'. But seriously...how many other directors would even CONSIDER getting involved in a project like this? Let's go through the list. Spielberg? His particular popcorn style doesn't gel with either franchise (I know Alien was pitched as 'Jaws in Space', but that was almost 30 years ago). Cameron? He stated in no uncertain terms he considered the mere concept of an AvP film to be crap. Verhoeven isn't the 'sequel' type, Tony Scott isn't the sci-fi type, R. Scott would be more likely to do Alien 5 rather than a crossover, Peter Jackson has King Kong, the Wachowski's no doubt would be scared of being pigeonholed as the guys that only do R-rated sci-fi actioners...you get my point. All these types have bigger fish to fry, i.e. they would rather be attached to a movie that ISN'T guaranteed to have critics dismissing it before it's even been written, let alone released. My point is that this could only have gone ahead with the involvement of a director dismissed by film snobs as a hack. If it sucks, we can ignore the fact it exists and just watch the early franchise entries. If it rocks, we can be grateful that SOMEONE in Hollywood doesn't take themself too seriously to be involved in a project that everyone's expecting to hate. WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOSE? The choice is between a movie that may or may not suck, or the same movie never getting made at all. I'll take the risk.

Why isn't James Cameron making another ALIENS flick??? Anyone??

Well I just saw AvP by Paul W.S. Anderson and you guys were right, what a load of crap it turned out to be. I'm glad that I waited until after I saw the film to speak my mind though... you know I was almost worried that Paul would make this an art film though... that'd be really scary if he made AvP like Pi or Requiem by Arnofsky... can't everyone understand that AvP has to be shitty in a sense... it's an action film... more than that... a sci-fi action film... even more than that a cross-over sci-fi film from two decently aged franchises... you should expect nothing but eye candy from this film... and if you saw event horizon you should be cumming your pants with anticipation for what Anderson's grotesque vision will bring for our pleasure... this movie is going to be fun... it's one of those movies that you go to with a group of friends... if the special effects don't leave you in awe then you get to heckle with your friends... blah blah.. the end... can't wait... i remember when i was a kid pumped up for Mortal Kombat and Paul didn't let me down then... so I can't wait...
-this is my first message on one of these movie sites... and it's funny cuz i think of jay and silent bob strike back when all those lame ass kids were writing reviews for the movie that wasn't even made yet lol then they kicked their asses... that was the best part -
Paul W.S. Anderson does have a rather big box office success to his name. I believe(pause)it was called MORTAL KOMBAT. Seems the guy knows what he's doing when he's filming a video game. Guess it's a good thing ALIEN VS. PREDATOR is one too. And let me just say that not even Akira Kurosawa could have made anything better out of the hopelessly cliched scripts that were EVENT HORIZON and SOLDIER.

Aren't you all the same bunch that bitched till the cows came home about FREDDY VS. JASON??? Last time I looked that was NEW LINE's 2nd or 3rd highest grossing movie of the year.
-
Very few people are willing to give this director any credit. He certainly seems to have carved a niche for himself with all these video game movies so somebody outhere likes his work.
I am looking forward to this movie because it marks a radical departure for the Aliens series: no Ripley. I guess that was the reason for my dissapointment with the last two Alien movies. Ripley found her closure at the end of Aliens. There was no need for her story to continue in Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection.
I hope that like the AVP games, the movie introduces new variations on the xenomorph. Silver aliens sounds like a step in the right direction. -
honestly. we all knew the movie was gonna be shit. this is just depressingly bad tho.

he fucked up the hole moive

Well Anderson used to make bad movies......now he makes good.....bad movies.
Event Horizon ,I liked it; it was pretty good...even if it danced itself upon the edge of an "event horizon" of its own.I remember it had some visuals and I actually cheered for survival one of the poor bastards that got locked out of the ship.
Resident Evil may be heresy to video game fans but lucky for me I never played the game. So Resident Evil was a fairly fun schlocky bad monster film...great drive in movie stuff. Few folks make good..bad movies anymore ;)
Resident Evil did have some nice camera work at the end and start.Anderson is certainly uneven. Resident Evil did have alot of sequences where you questioned why it was done so poorly while other moments were so polished. (The whole train car sequence climax is very bad ,compare it to the first zombie encounters or the Racoon city ending sequence)
We all know this will not be "Alien,Aliens,Predator"
But I think Anderson can make a better movie then Predator 2 or Aliens ressurection if given the chance. I guess we will see.
Heck who else was going to do this movie ?
Someone like David Twohy?
Pitch Black? (bad)
Below? (ok,event horizon in a sub)
Christian Duguay?
Screamers? (was ok)
Its not like anyone "A" level was going to go near this stillborn Turkey.
Anderson may be the best hope from adverting disaster...AVP could be good ,or limp its way to OK. It shouldn't be horrible....if Alien 3 and Predator 2 didnt kill the franchise ....it should be able to survive Anderson , it may even be ok or *gasp* even good , the Jury should be out until the movie shows up for internet download from Vietnam ;-]

JDanielP, Cameron has no NEED whatsoever to make another Alien f
by shanghai nicky
He's one of THE most powerful directors in Hollywood, along with Spielberg, Lucas, Zemeckis, Jackson and a couple of others. He can do whatever project he likes, with scale, scope and money no object. Why would he want to repeat himself by going back to a (now-sullied, derided and, sorry to say it, dead) franchise he was involved with nearly 20 years ago? What kudos would there be for him in ALIEN 5? If he wasn't interested in doing T3, there is ZERO chance that he'd want to go back to the Alien series. Similarly, there is ZERO chance that Spielberg would want to do another JAWS sequel, or that Zemeckis is planning ROMANCING THE STONE III.

Was AICN invited to come to the set of A vs. P also? I would like to have seen what AICN would have had to say if they had actually seen the set and filming instead of just posting what someone "heard". I think this is a low point for this site and completely irresponsible of Harry.
As to what most of you are saying on this talk back, of course this movie's going to tank. It hasn't even finished filming yet and the net geeks are already driving the nails into the coffin. With their lord and master Harry Knowles handing them the nails.
-
first off anyone who believes anything from AICN is an idiot anyhow =P ... take a peek at http://www.planetavp.com/ and their official statement from a news crew on the set of the movie, to combat this...crap...posted on here...and another thing...I loved Freddy vs Jason, because it had action, sick comedy, and a twist ending, and Boy was it appealing...the visuals were great, im expecting the same of AvP...mainly because Anderson loves the movies...a Fan wouldnt mess up the franchise =)

I have never felt that it was a HATE worthy film.

I think the costumes will appear better on film but..
by hookedonbullshit
I think it's a mistake for the setting of this film to be placed in a pyramid. Pyramids fail to spark any memories of the original films. This story would work better in a setting that is more comparable to a jungle/tech/urban landscape.
When I think Alien vs. Predator done properly, I'm really imagining a midnight type confrontation between a single Predator in the trees of an unknown jungle "attempting" to locate its prey (an Alien) on the forest floor below. Cycling through its many vision modes it roars in frustration followed by its petering clicking sound. A second would pass and it would hear more then the wind circulating a branch behind it, Turning the Predator would be surprised, attacked and killed in that order by an Alien springing forth from an opposite branch.
When I think of Andersons Pyramid AVP, I think it takes the humans half the film to confront both species; all three have off and on entanglements within the catacombs of this pyramid. [15 minutes later] at the end, the Pyramid collapses in a Hollywood explosion allowing only the new Ripley character to escape. Unless you got a new Hicks kill they all off.
One last thing... Anderson wants to know why heroines have been a staple of the Alien franchise; well I -
one for bad movies and worse video game adaptations. He's been given chance after chance after chance and continuosly screwed them up, that's why we want him no where near avp.

My God...what a bunch of first-rate pessimists... all you guys do is BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH and RAG RAG RAG and say SUCK SUCK SUCKS. You are all soooooooooo pathetic: living off roumers and billshit ideas abou "this is gonna BOMB" and criticising artists who do things that you guys could never even DREAM of doing. I'm no specialist "net geek critic" but you just try putting yourself in Anderson's shoes and try satifying all your people's pathetic bullshit "needs". Just try it... AND QUIT SHITTING ON MOVIES THAT HAVEN'T EVEN COME OUT YET: ITS STUPID, PATHETIC AND SHOWS JUST HOW IGNORANT YOU ARE!!!!!!!!I personally would have preferred Cameron as the dircetor (Anderson isn't so bad)but, YOU CANT HAVE EVREYTHING YOU WANT, CAN YOU????
BANDE DE PD FILS DE PUTES ENCULES DE LEURS RACES QU'ILS NIQUENT LEURS MERES ET ME SUCENT LES COUILLES. JE VOUS EMMERDE
And go ahead and ban me, the only reason I signed up is to post this message, SO FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!

I see this movie Doing well and being pissed on....by every critic in the industry....like Freddy vs Jason....I loved that movie...Im expecting the same here...normally I wouldnt really care about how well the movie would Do...but moreso my Opinion of it....but...I keep hearing that this movie will basically determine the outcome of the Predator 3, and Alien 5 projects, and that gets under my skin...I do hope that this film wont have that kind of affect on those two Seperate franchises...
-
this films going to be crap, resident evil?soldier?oh yeah mortal kombat remember that one?
-
I liked RE and I liked Event Horizon but honestly I dont like PWS Anderson. He over-uses cg and is VERY well-know for fucking up potentially epic movies.
I love Aliens (predator is meh) and the fact that I know this movie is going to suck more ass than resurrection makes me so sad. If PWS Anderson releases this movie and it bombs we can say goodbye to ANY future alien movies. If fox cared enough they would have paid scott or cameron enough to take care of this mess. Oh well. RIP Aliens franchise.
regardless, I will go see it in the theaters and cry when I see this (no doubtedly) bastardization of my favorite horror/sci-fi series.
I should have given up after A:resurrection but now I'm preparing for even worse. God I hope you assholes (including myself) are wrong.
